View 2 RepliesI have something that appears so simple yet I want it to look exactly as example shows and do it with DP7.
I've tried shadow too, and cloning/offsetting. It doesn't give desired look.
3D extruding isn't the answer as then the type gets a skewed perspective and that's not what I need.
Perhaps there's some way this look can be achieved that I don't know about.
Here's the example, then my efforts that don't look right.
There's a remote chance it's the font. If so, how to recognize that font? I do know that original artwork was cut in a 2 pc vinyl stencil as I asked artist but she doesn't recall font or program used as it was a few years ago.
how do i a shadow text effect like this i tried the drop shadow but it doesnt quite look the same has this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Illustrator CC although I haven't tried doing this in earlier versions. When I copy text that has a drop shadow made with "effect/stylize/drop shadow" the drop shadow is editable from the Appearance pallet only in the original document. In the pasted document the drop shadow is there but does not show up in the Appearance pallet so I can't edit it. It shows up on a different layer so I can delete it but then I have to create an editable shadow from scratch on the new document. When I copy objects that are not text with drop shadow, the editiability remains, but it doesn't seem to work with text unless I create outlines of the type and then I lose the editability of the text. Is there any way to copy drop shadows that are editable on text?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI try from using the simple drop shadow fx or complex suggestions building several different layers, I never see the final effect on the photo. I even click and unclick "preview" but it makes no difference. The photo displayed in my CS4 window continues to look just like the photo when I first opened it. Am I supposed to flatten the layers or somehow bring them together into one layer?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to achieve the same look as this chocolate bar... after many months I kind of gave up on making the aluminum foil part My question is about the wrapper. I can see the shadows and I was able to do that.. kind of.. but how about the light on the wrapper? I've been using bevel and emboss and tried 360 degree of light direction and it doesn't look like that at all...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this laptop object image (laptop_img.jpg) and I want to create a mirror effect like mirror_img.jpg.
I understand that using stamp tool and doing some rotating can achieve this effect. But however, no matter, how many 90 degrees I turn for this image, I just can't achieve the mirror effect.
how to create mirror image for all objects.
So I have successfully used the drop shadow effect in PSE 6.
But I can't figure out how to disengage this effect. I started using the clone stamp tool after I was done with drop shadow, and now all of my clone stamps have drop shadows!
I don't want no more drop shadow. How do I get it to stop? I've looked and looked and don't see anything obvious.
I want to do a sign with a moving shadow effect that hides/shows some parts of my sign. The effect I want is similar to the one that LiQuidSin uses in his sign. Anyone knows how to do this? is that with imageready?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith Quicksilver renderer, if I lower the value of shadow intensity in render settings, the shadows still appears total black as with the value 1.0.
However, this same parameter in viewport settings works fine with Nitrous.

can't seem to find the drop shadow effect in Illustrator CS6. I know it should be located until the Effect menu -> Stylize -> Drop Shadow, but the only option that appears under Stylize is Glowing Edges. I have also tried to access the drop shadow effect through the Appearance panel, but it doesn't show up their either

I need to produce a PNG image that will be used as a menu bar that has a shadow effect on the top side only. The image will ultimately be just 1 pixel wide and then be repeated as required to create the right width (length) on the web page. How can I slice the image without getting a shadow effect on any of the other 3 sides?
Obviously the edges of the image must be sharp so there is no banding effect when the image is extended.
I'm working in Illustrator CS5 and I want to know if it is possible to copy and paste an effect like a drop shadow. For example, let's say I create a document with some text which has a drop shadow on it and some without the effect. Next I create text in a different font with a different drop shadow effect (different settings for the drop shadow attributes). Later in the project I decide, I want to go back and add the first effect to several objects and/or text in my image. Is there a way to copy that effect and paste it in?
I know that I can go in and manually copy the settings of the effect I want to copy, add the effect to a new object, and then re-apply the effect from that point, but is there a way to simplify the process by just copying the effect?
How can I remove the shadow effect under the blue object? I am using Illustrator CS6.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAttached there is a picture made through PhotoScape where big outline rectangle is rounded. I am trying to do similar one through PSP. Drawing I found some difficulties:
a) How to create a rounded rectangle? I tried to use “rectangle tool” but I couldn’t find adjust to make it “rounded”.
b) Considering the possibility to create a “rounded rectangle” and applying “shadow drop” on it, will the shadow appear “rounded” as well? Or is there something to do?
c) In some tests I made applying “shadow drop” on a normal rectangle (as a new layer) the only adjust I could make after that was on “shadow size” (dragging the mouse). I couldn’t find a way to access effect properties to readjust attributes as “opacity” or “blur”. How to come back to “shadow drop” configuration panel (attached) to readjust settings as opacity or blur?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a jpg image that I use multiple times in an illustrator file, and I wanted to be more efficient by making it into a symbol. So I embedded the image, made it a symbol, then updated my Illustrator file, replacing the instances of that image with the symbol-version of the image. I then tried to add a drop shadow effect to one of those symbols. Although the effect was listed on the appearance menu, it didn't actually show up visibly on the screen. However, if I added a non-shadow effect to the symbol (e.g. blur .1 pixel) then added a drop shadow, the shadow would then appear. Oddly, I have other images that I have made into symbols where this problem does not occur. Perhaps it's some weird image format issue?
I've included a jpg export below, showing the problem. I've also put the original .ai file up on my Google docs folder here: [URL] ........

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm teaching a graphic design class and to get the students ready to do design work I am having them do the grass tutorial that you can find online, it was used a lot under CS3. We are using CS5.
Okay so on this tutorial we get to the Step 16, using Macs btw, and we are stumped. Putting a shadow, I've tried this myself, thing is the shadow needs to have the same bumpy edge that the grass image does.

I have a picture of a girl in a dress. The background is white(ish) and some of the girl's dress is white as well as her blouse.
If I select the magic eraser tool the background is viped out, but parts of the skirt and shirt get wiped out as well... I've read somewhere how to solve this problem, selecting only certain "ranges" of a colour, so that not all the different whites' get erased...
Have also created some text and have added a drop shadow.. is there any way to get the drop shadow to be another colour than grey (i.e. green, pink, blue)..?
