I'm trying to design and create an A2 size poster and my physical memory is off the charts is there a way of creating the design small and resizing the canvas when I'm finished or is it just impossible to create a poster this size on my laptop?
View 4 RepliesI am making an independent film. And I've decided to use Photoshop to make the Poster...but theres one problem. We'll...3 actually. Hopefully someone could help me out and I would greatly appreciate it. Even if you can only answer one, I will still greatly appreciate it.
1. What would be the coordinates if you want to make a Poster?
2. How about a full paper. What size does the Photoshop picture got to be to fit a piece of paper perfectly?
3. How about DVD covers? Either just the front or the front and the back.
I want to design a 80cm * 175cm poster. What dimensions should my new document be?
80cm*175cm*300dpi is definitely wrong.
I need to make a poster in A1 size and I would like to know whether it is feasible to do so with GIMP, because I've seen the list of templates when making a new file and the size goes only up to A3 format.
I realize I can do the designing in A3 format and just print the A1 sheet, but I don't know if this will yield good results when considering the resolution and such.

If I want to have a poster be 30x36" (300 dpi) is it safe to create the file in PS one third it's size (10x12") at 600dpi?
Or do you create it at one third its size at 300dpi & then enlarge it by 300%?

I have 2 issues to deal with. I have a poster I've created in 11x17 but I want to make sure that I get a full bleed when I send it over to the print shop, how would I do this?
issue#2: I will need to reduce the size of the 11x17 to a 5.6in width 7in height. How do I do this? The reason for the size reduction is because I need it for newspaper printing so I need to make sure to keep my 11x17.

I must be using the wrong terms or words. I NEED to make a wedding seating chart (yup, my wedding) and this is what I am trying to do. I have a picture that I want to use and I want to have about 18 or 20 pictures surrounding the main picture. Then I need to be able to type in names alphabetically with their table number....
I then need to be able to have the picture printed poster size. I am trying to use the layers but the layered pic covers like half the main picture.
Using PSPPX3 Ultimate.
The idea is probably a graphic design idea. I think PSPPX3 can do it though.
What I want to do is create something like a flyer or poster. So if it was physically I would have some poster board or a large sheet or paper, then I would arrange images and tape or glue them to it. Then scan and print off any copies if I needed them.
In software I think I want to be able to create a background and be able to enlarge it or shrink it down as I need to. Then start applying images and resize or reshape them on this "virtual canvas" or outside of the "virtual canvas" and bring them into the "virtual canvas".
Can this program do it, or do I need something like CorelDraw?
I am trying to create a photo collage, but a window pops up saying "Valid size not available for this creation".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've taken some time to follow some tutorials and I think I've become pretty decent at making planets over all. However, I decided to try and create a city planet, but I don't know exactly how to execute it.
By city planet, I mean something that looks like Coruscation from Star Wars. I've tried making circular and ovular patters, but they don't turn out right when I render the 3d effect. Also, the texture just doesn't seem to come out as smooth as the one in the picture.
I was wondering if it is possible to set the creation of a new document in Photopaint to ppi instead of dpi?

View 2 Replies View Relatedcan a watermark stay the same size even when an image size is altered? say if its text and it gets too big when i enlarge the image how do i shrink the watermark ? when it is already merged and flattened as one picture without a separate layer.
such as a php or java script to keep the watermark distinct in a way even in a flattened pic or to select the watermark to erase it and re-apply it in the right font size back onto the resized pic?
I know Photoshop can do this but is there anyway to make the pixel size not change if im messing with the print size of a photo?

Any ideas on how to turn a regular photograph into a style similar to the one of Lenin? I'll try and post the picture I'm working with as well as the example poster. I've tried posterizing and blurring and colorizing but I can't quite get the yellowy tint as well as the kind of dotted shadows seen in the picture.

I am having trouble adding text to a poster where I have dropped in an image and added a border. The only way I can add text is to flatten the image then add text. Also when I try to add a image with "place" to make it a smart object I have the same problem. If I flatten the image to add text then I can't save the file as a template.

I am asked to do a large print of an A1 size poster which is 840mm x594mm,so would it be wiser to half those dimensions given,or even 1/4 of that size in order to avoid my maching going slow? would the printer still understand how hes meant to go about,if i specify the actual dimensions?

I wanted to print a poster of the same size in snapfish, and they accept only JPG files. So I exported the collage to JPG with the best Quality I got.
The poster was printed, but the quality is poor. How can I export it in order to get good results?
I printed the poster the same size in my HP Printer (5 years old) with lot of A4 pages and the resolution of each page was much higher.
Printing the poster is expensive, that is why I really would like to reach the same quality with a JPG file.
