Dec 12, 2013I want to use a web based calendar program but cannot upload photos from a collection.

View 1 RepliesI mistakenly created a collection when only one file was highlighted. I made another collection with all the other files I wanted in it, but I can't drag that one file from the filmstrip..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to either use Grid view sorted by dimensions, or create a Collection based on dimensions. I can do this in Adobe Bridge, but thought Lightroom would add functionality to this.
View 28 Replies View RelatedI'd like to be able to setup an export preset that would save the selected photos to a subfolder within my export folder with the name of the subfolder automatically set to match the collection (or collection set) name. Is this possible? I have tried looking at the custom folder name options but couldn't quite
So, if my parent export folder is say c:PhotosExports and my collection name is 'Summer2012', I'd like for it to automatically export any photos in that collection to c:PhotosExportsSummer2012. Is this possible or do I need to set it manually each time?
Reason I'd like to automate this is say I'm in a rush to post up the pics, I might go ahead and export them without editing much and then manually cut and paste them from c:PhotosExports into a Summer2012 folder. If I later make edits to the photos, it'd be much handier to just use a preset export knowing that they would automatically update the files in the Summer2012 folder, rather than having to do another manual cut and paste every time, or manually select the folder if choosing the 'Choose folder later' option. Is there another way to do to what I'm looking for?
I want to introduce this into my workflow if possible
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do I move photos from a collection to a flash drive? I want them in the same order and edited the same as they are in the collection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Lightroom 4, I would like to copy a catalog from machine 1 to machine 2, and while someone else is working on machine 1, I would like to create a collection on machine 2, and then just move that collection back onto machine 1's original catalog. The user on machine 1 is also making collections, so if I just copied the catalog back from machine 2 when I was done, it would destroy the new collections on machine 1, so I think I want to just move the collection I create on machine 2.
View 13 Replies View Relatedtill LR 4.1 it was easy to add photos to an existing collection. I just selected photos and dragged+dropped them on the name of the collection. Job done. This seems not to work in LR 4.2 any longer. I can only add photos to a collection by using the context menu of the collection ("Add marked photos to this collection" [most probably the correct English term is different as I work with the German edition of LR 4.2]). Is this supposed to be a feature - or just a bug?
Additionally I can't put photos in an individual order any more. Sorting them by date, name etc - easy! But rearranging the manually doesn't work any longer with my version. Again: feature or bug?
I may be missing something entirely obvious, (indeed I often do), but I cant discover a way of using filters so I can see a dsiplay of pictures which I have not assigned to a collection?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my lightroom library I have created a collection set called "Wedding". As I have 1000 photos from my wedding, within this Collection Set I have created 10 or more Collections to organise these photos (Ceremony, Reception, First Dance, etc.).
I have created a new 'Book' which as expected, has created a new Collection within my 'Wedding' collection set.
When I first create the book (before saving it) it seems like I can click on a page, then browse my Collections and add the photo that I desire to the page.
After I have saved the book, I can't so this. I want to work on my book later, and use my existing organisation of photos, and add photos to my books from these collections.
I know I am missing something basic (I am new to lightroom). I don't understand why I can't add a photo to my book after I have saved it. Each time I click on one of my other collections, a new unsaved book appears in the main project window.
I have worked out that if I copy all my wedding photos into the new "Book" collection, then my photos are available for use - but this defeats the purpose of organising my photos into separate collections, and it doesn't seem like you can create a sub-collection within the Book project.
I'm having such a hard time adding several photos at once to an existing collection. Not sure what I'm doing wrong as I am following the instructions. First I select all the photos by clicking shift and the 1st photo, then I select the last photo. All photos I want to add are highlighted. But I can't drag all the photos at once. When I try to drag, the 1st photo is only selected. What is are the correct click, drag and drop key strokes to get it right? Dragging and dropping one photo at the time is just not feasible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have built a smart collection that is for my photos without a title, but the photos with titles are showing up also. The condition I use is "title doesn't contain words." Do I need to add other conditions? I'm not using any of the conditions in the "find bar" at top of Library Module. I'm trying to build my own workflow using Smart Collections.
View 3 Replies View RelatedA feature I loved in LR1-2-3 was the fact the flags were local for collections. It was a bit disturbing at first, but in the end it was very useful. When I make a new collection, for example to publish photos on my website, I select the photos I want, and I have to many of them. So, I used the local flags to decide: do I want to keep this photo inside this particular collection.
No that all flags are global, I can't do this anymore and I lose a lot of time when I have to choose which photos to keep in a collection. I understand that some users found the local flags confusing but there seems to be no workaround for people like me who loved this feature. In my opinion, there should be an option to set "use local flags in collection", this option being unset at the first launch.
Without the local flags, how can I select photos easily inside a collection? (I already use gloabl flags to select photos I keep, and colors to mark the workflow progression)
I flagged a few pictures with the P key, and I want to show them (with other creterias) in a smart collection. So I build a smart collection with the Pick Flag is flagged. But no pictures are showing in my smart collection.
If I do the same with the rejected flag, they appear in the collection...
Do I need to check database consistency or what?
I just bought Nikon D800 and I think 36MP is too large to give my customers, and I want to downsize to 16 MP (or any other resolution). This megapixel downsize function doesn't even work on ANY of the photos in a collection when exported. Then I manually set the H x W to 4920 x 3264 px respectively. That worked on SOME of the pictures, while some still remain enormous... (e.g. 7360 x 4912 px) WHY? I have cropped some photos so I figured the resize wouldn't apply to the crops with H or W smaller than the new set H or W. But I cross-checked it and I can't seem to find a pattern, as some photos that are un-cropped remain "untouched" at export. I have set the DPI to 300, but should that matter as long as they're still on my screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I create a smart collection that automatically includes 4+ star photos created in the last month plus 5 star photos created within the last year? (i.e., only show best photos further back in time, but more recently, show a wider selection of photos)
Apparently, you can't include results of one SmartCollection in another SmartCollection (i.e., "Collection" criteria does not operate on SmartCollections).
I have scanned a bunch of photographs and imported them into lightroom. I then went and changed all the capture dates to represent when the photos were actually taken. Now I would like to put the photo's in a folder structure based on the capture date (as all my other photo's are). How is it best to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a simple way to export photos from lightroom into seperate folders based on collections.
For example, in LR5, I have collection set "2014". Within "2014", there are sub-collections Jan, Feb, March... and so on. How can I export all the photos, at once, from the "2014" collection set so they end up in a folder structure that mirrors the collection set and sub-collections. My collection is more complex and contains many more sub-collections than the example provided, so I would really like to avoid having to export each sub-collection separately.
In searching for this, I found mention of some sort of plug-in that apparently was capable of this, but I could not get it to work. The GUI was not intuitive and I didn't have time to learn it. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the plug-in since I deleted it. But is there any way to do this without having to learn code or install plug-ins?
I want to create a command:
My selection set consists of dbpoints that exists on my drawing and they are more or less in line
I create a new point3dcollection with this db points
I want to create a 3d polyline based on this point3d collection
My problem is : how to sort this point3d collection based on a picked start point and picked end point?
The only idea I have is:
from start point i calculate the distance to each point3d from collection and based on the results i sort the point3d collection based on distances.
Is there a facility that can group all my photos (from multiple device downloads) in a calender form - the way it does on a map when you have a location saved on the photo?
It would be cool if you can select "calender view" and all the photos with the same date are stacked together.
I need configuring Lightroom as my default program for my photos. It was until I downloaded the 4.3 update and now it wont show up in my list of programs.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I specify a smart collection rule that says the source must be a collection matching some pattern, does this only apply to actual collections and exclude collection sets?
I was hoping fo a way to build a rule based on the collection set ... is this possible?
I also tried matching Any Searchable Text set to the collection set name, but that doesn't seem to work...wouldn't all photos in the collection set be associated with that string? Looks like no.
There used to be a way I thought that you could submit a new thread after doing a question search. That seems to be gone.
Is there a way to convert a collection to a smart collection?
I am using NextGEN to export images to WordPress. NextGEN created Publishing collections in Lightroom to match those in my WordPress blog. My problem is that they are not Smart Collections.
I can manually import photos to the correct location, or using a new catolog move / add the photos return to the last catolog to find half my photos missing. at this point LR allows you to 'find missing photos' If you find one missing photo it magically finds other missing photos from the same folder (exact same date) If Adobe would only allow its app to go out a directory or two when finding other missing photos this problem would go away for me, and its super easy to do, and it does not open up adobe to any new issues, only fixes a huge amount of mistakes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter importing 71,000 photos into version 4, I somehow ended up continuing to use version 3 (even though 4 was on my computer). Now, 1,000 more photos later, I discover that version 3 is still on my computer and is actually the version I am using! What is the smartest way to get the most recent 1,000 photos into version 4 and GET RID of version 3?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found that I cannot delete any photos from LR 4.1 using any delete command (from disc choice). Ctrl+Backspace method or right click -> delete method. No amount of fussing going to other files and then back to the ones I want to delete works. Rebooting the program doesn't work. Google search shows that this may be a known bug.
I cannot delete anything in LR (from disc) and can only delete one file at a time from explorer (directly from LR - that is, LR will not show me more than one file at a time in explorer). I am on new computer (never had this issue before): Windows 7 professional 64 bit, processor i7-3770 3.40 GHz, 16GB RAM.
Now I find that I cannot move files at all through the LR 4.1 interface.Perhaps windows is not giving permission to LR to move anything?
I imported them without moving them. So they're in the catalog. How do I transfer them to the drive which contains the entire catalog. (I should have hit "move" right?)
