View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried dragging the root folder in my main Library to a folder I created on a new drive. I found that only about 25% of the files were transferred but all of the folders and subfolders were. Do I now drag all of the folders from one drive to the other using Explorer, and the ask LR to find and re-link the remaining 75%?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am ready to make the move from PSE 10 Organizer to Lightroom 4. I'll do the trial first of course. I understand the Adobe recommended method is to upgrade the Organizer catalog (after doing backups and reconnecting missing files). John R. Ellis guidance on migrating to Lightroom 3 also recommended writing keyword tags to the files.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can i migrate a folder with all the edited images in it to a different machine, i did some work on my laptop while traveling and now i would like to migrate it all back to my main machine.
I was able to copy the files to my main machine but all the editing work I invested in did not "move" with the images......
how can i do it the right way ??
Macbook Pro, 2 GHz Intel Core i7
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50d)
External Drive: Seagate 2TB
I have prior years of images archived on my external drive.
Example: STJOHNPHOTO_2011.LRCAT is on the external drive
I want to add these images to my local catalog (LR4) on my Macbook
As I add the images - leaving the files in their original location - the star ratings and development settings are not importing.
I'm finally incorporating LR to my Bridge / ACR / PS workflow.I have a very detailed keyword tree that I use in Bridge. This tree is organized in a hierarchical manner, and some of the keywords have synonyms or in case of taxonomy, common and latin names separeted by " ;"
I imported the keyword list into LR and also selected the option to import the xmp along with the files. The problem is that LR is now creating a new keyword for every word I have in the list!
I think one of the issues is that ";" is an illegal caracter in LR, but I'm not sure how to fix it without having to rewrite the entire thing. Also, is this the only issue?
Changing the keyword list only will not fix it because I have thousands of images with these keywords already, and it would be impossible to redo them all.
My plan is to fix this and delete everything from the catalog before I import the files again.
I am in the process of migrating my from iView Media Pro to LR 4, with about 15K photos. In iVMP, I created CSV files containing the names of the Collections and Keywords (using LR lingo) associated with each photo. I am now trying to find a way to import that data into LR. I have tried LR/Transporter, but it is not working properly.
I have done a lot of searching on the topic of migrating to LR from a different cataloging application and am amazed at the dearth of information I have found.
Any LR plugins that import metadata from CSV files? Even if LR/Transporter were working as described, I can't import the Collection names and keywords directly into their respective LR fields. Getting 15K photos into the same Collection Set/Collection hierarchy that I have in iVMP looks like it is going to be A LOT manual work. Are there no tools to make this process more automated?
Any resources for setting up LR with an existing photo collection (like a batch process for creating the empty Collection Sets and Collections), I would love to know about it.
I do posses a vast number of photoshop plug-ins installed in CS6; now I am migrating to CC; how do I migrate the filters and plug-ins?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased CS6 and noticed that some of the 3rd party filters I had in CS4 have not been migrated over to CS4. The specific plugins I'm concerned about are Noiseware Professional and Alienskins, both of which I am able to access in CS4's filter drop down menu.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have lots of photographer friends who made the jump from a PC to a Mac, Adobe will do a one time switch for the cost of shipping the software. You must sign a Letter Of Destruction and destroy your Windows version of their software.
I started all this on Nov 24th 2008, Adobe customer support claims no problem, just fill out the LOD and email or fax it to us. Well I did let it slip a little with the holiday and company. So I fax and email the LOD to them. Only to find out the customer service person pointed me the wrong LOD. So I start over and fax and email the right LOD. I wait and wait, I call back on Jan 2 and get the run around and am told to call back Mon or Tue, Jan 5 or 6th. So I call back on the 6th. The customer service person says, no problem, it was approved on Jan 2, so why could they not have told me that on the 2nd when I called. They tell me that that I should see the disks in 3 - 5 day, 10 at the very most. No software on Jan 16th, so I call back and again I am told to call back on Mon or Tue. So I call back on the 19th and spend 50 minutes on the phone. I should also mention that I was told to download the trial version of Photoshop and will have my discs in hand before it expires. Guess what, it expired on Jan 17th. So here I am, a professional photographer with no working software and who knows when I will see the Mac version of the Master collection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy old machine, an Acer Aspire One D255 (a 32-Bit Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66GHz with 1 Gb RAM running Win7 Home Premium) netbook did, somewhat amazingly, successfully run PSP X5, albeit slowly (frankly, it struggled). I now have a new notebook (an early birthday present from my partner), which is a Toshiba Satellite C855 running Win8 (64 bit), and the specs for it are listed in my profile here.
I obviously want to transfer (migrate) the software from the old machine to the new one.As my copy of PSP X5 was a downloaded purchase, I have no discs; While the original downloaded installation files were corrupted, due to a massive disk failure last year, I still have the serial numbers, and they're registered to me on the Corel registration database (I checked that first off).
Can I just download the files again, and plug in the existing serial numbers, and if so, where can I download them from, or is there a specific process I have to follow in order to migrate the software? If the latter, what is that process?
I have a number of actions under the automate/batch menu item that are on a win2k machine with 7.0. I want to migrate them to an xp machine with cs3. I can't boot the machine with 7.0 on it but I do have complete access to the disk (long story of another problem).
I cannot figure out where they store them. I've seen the .atn file but they just seem to be standard default files. So what I want to do is to get them into cs3 without having to redo the dozens of actions by hand. It's sounds easy (and I'm sure it is), but in my searching, I'm coming up with nothing. Ideas?
I'm finally getting around to using 2012 and would like to know the correct way to migrate my 2011 custom settings. I seem to recall some one here saying that you can't just copy them over or you risk messing up Max. I have heavily customized 2011 and wouldn't want to have to start from scratch.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to Max 2013, the installer created a completely separate 2013 instance, and did not upgrade or replace my existing Max 2012.
So now that I have 2013, how do I migrate my GUI settings from 2012 without having to go through all of the screens and tool bars from scratch?
The other day I accidentally hit a keystroke combination that produced an effect I was surprised and happy to see. I have not been able to reproduce it.
I had a layer that was smaller than the layer below it, those being the only two layers. And somehow I was able to select the size of the top layer down onto the lower layer in a way that I could move around to position.
I have been recently put in charge of all things Autodesk at my company. We have just installed 2014 software on our machines and I'm told that I need to migrate the styles library from 2013 to 2014. Here's the thing though, we have our Inventor templates and design data on a network drive for all to access.
I see where there is a style manager included in the Tools of Inventor but I open it up and I can't make heads or tails of it.
I have a large library of standard parts and assemblies that I will be migrating from Inventor 2009 to Inventor 2013
Residing in this library are iparts and iassemblies. Both the factory and the members.
Question is how to migrate these iparts and iassemblies,.
option 1 migrate the factory first THEN the members
option 2 migrate the members then the factory (pretty sure this will not work)
option 3 migrate both factory and members at the same time
option 4 migrate the factory and generate new members (not my favorite option)
option 5 ?????
I should add that I intend to use task scheduler to migrate the files
Inventor 2010
I have XML files for Materials that I have used for several years. BUT they are just that - XML files & supporting PNG images of textures.
I guess I got these back when I installed Inventor Publisher in 2008 or 2009. And I have changed computers 3 or 4 times - up to Inventor 2011, they worked everytime.
Now with Inventor 2013, they don't work. How do I get the .XML files and/or info into a custom Inventor library so they work properly? and no - there is not an .adsklib files available in that folder to migrate. That would be tooooo easy.
Migrating will not recognize just .XML files. Not to my knowledge anyway.
I finally upgraded my 2002 version to ACAD LT 2013; possible to migrate my setting, templates, plot files and preferences from 2002 to 2013 (I have to admit I haven't tried yet)?

My home computer has Photoshop CS6 installed and I’m about to customize my preferences and workspace in the app. If I use my Cloud subscription at my workplace, how do access those same preferences at my workplace? Do I have to manually transfer my user prefs from my library,
We had customized styles in Inventor 12 Then installed 13 and had some conflicts using the 12 styles. The person who customized the styles is no longer with us so I dont know what all was changed. Our work stations point to a styles network location so we are all on the same page. I would like to know if there is a way to compare the default styles to the custom files so I know what was changed. Then I would keep a log book of style changes as they occur and update the style of the next release b4 company wide installation. Or perhaps there is a better way??
