Nov 15, 2012I have Photoshop CS5 installed on my C drive. I recently bought an external terra drive and want to move Photoshop to the terra drive, as the C drive is pretty full and it's effecting PS's functionality. Do I have to uninstall and then reinstall on the external drive?

Jan 4, 2009My C Drive boot sector recently failed due to motherboard problems, causing me to have to install another hard drive to have an operating system to run. I am still using my old hard drive for data, only now it is renamed as my F drive. When I try to run PSCS2 off my F drive I get the message "Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." Adobe's website says I need to reinstall PS, BUT I cannot find my install disks! I have a legal copy of CS2 and I cannot find it after scouring the house and it's nooks and crannies. Does anyone know if there is a data or text file that I could go into behind the scenes to tell PS to point to the F drive instead of the C Drive? I did this for my Quickbooks software, but can't figure out if PS has such a capability.

Mar 1, 2012I moved images from my harddrive to an external drive.
I opened Lightroom.
Noticed there was a question mark by the photo folder I needed.
I synchronized the folders. Nada.
I rememebered I moved the images (first line ^^)
I re-imported the images from the external drive into Lightroom.
These images (other than one that was marked previously with a blue label) look completely untouched - completely original files - even though I spent hours working on them.
I am glad the images weren't deleted BUT re-doing 600 images will be a MAJOR FAIL if I can't figure out how to import the images with the settings / developments I did beforehand.
Lightroom :: Merge External Drive Images To Desktop Drive Within Same Master Catalog?
Aug 18, 2013I have about 900 raw files on an external drive. I edited those files using my master catalog using a laptop while still travelling. When I got home, I copied the master catalog from the external drive to the desk top, then opened the master catalog on my desktop. I can see the edited images on the external drive. So far so good.
I want to copy (add) the edited images to my desk top. I tried to export the images as a new catalog and then import it into the desire location on my desktop drive. However, LR5 does not allow that. I get this message: "There is nothing new in the catalog you have selected. All of the catalog's photos are up to date in this catalog." Yes, but the edited images are not on my desktop.....
I also tried to Import from the external drive and then Copy the files to the desktop, but then I lose all of the work done in the develop module and the keywords.
I watched Kost's LR 3 video on merging catalogs, but she dodges the question of how to deal with this issue since the "merge" is within the same catalog.I'm using LR5 with Windows 7.
Lightroom :: Cache Large RAW Files Imported From Network Drive On Local Drive?
Jul 5, 2012I'm copying RAW files from a shoot onto my network RAID drive in a per-album folder, from where I then import into a new LR catalog (I'm using LR 4.1) on my Windows laptop for that album.
I'm finding that editing RAW files on a network drive from a wireless laptop is awfully slow (not to mention not being able to continue the work offline somewhere else), so I'd like to cache those files on my speedy SSD drive just until I'm done editing and exporting/publishing that album.
I back up my per-album catalog onto the network folder alongside the RAW files since that's my IT-managed master repository. When I'm done editing, I'd purge the cached files and just keep the catalog previews on my limited capacity SSD.
So, is there a way to tell LR to, for one/all files imported from a location (in my case a network folder), look in an alternate location for the identical files? Since I create per-album catalogs in per-album folders, there wouldn't be filename clashing. Either LR can provide this caching behavior on its own or I'd manually copy files from the network folder to a local folder and tell LR to look there first.
I don't really want to make copies of files into secondary folders within LR since then it's a hassle to merge edits on the cached copy to its master copy (I haven't done this, but I'd imagine so).

I had an old demo version of Photoshop CS6 on my computer and was told to delete it, which I did. Unfortunately, it also damaged Photoshop 6 CC and I had to unistall it also. Now CC is saying it is up to date and won't reinstall it. I really need to start working on something I promised I would have ready by Monday and can't do it because I don't have Photoshop again.

I have pics to import from cards, one card loaded no problem, the next card brought up the images and when I go to import them I recieve a message saying "Some Import Operations Were not Performed." giving me the following 2 errors (1) and (563)last night it was (1) and (504) and (505). Seems like it is reading the images as it pulls them up, just not moving them. I have reviewed everything from Permissions to loading the cards with no problem in LR4.

Mar 3, 2014I just installed Lightroom 5, and it does not seem to recognize Photoshop CS5.1, which has been installed for some time. When I click Photo>Edit In, the option for Photoshop and all of the other related Photoshop options, such as Merge to Panorama, etc., are not active, so clicking on them does nothing. This occurs when Photoshop is open. It's as if Photoshop is not installed. Is there something I need to do to ensure that Lightroom 5 recognizes that Photoshop is installed?
I'm not sure whether the problem is that Lightroom does not recognize that Photoshop is installed or that there is some problem that prevents access to Photoshop from Lightroom.
I am using Windows 7. In Preferences for external editing, I have the following settings: File Format = TIFF; Color Space = ProPhotoRGB; Bit Depth = 16 bits; Resolution = 240; Compression = None.

Dec 16, 2012I installed an ICM profile from Red River paper in attempt to improve printing from LR by allowing LR to manage colors. Probably should not have done this because I am using Canon s9000 printer and Canon paper but I could not find Canon profiles anywhere on internet (for this printer). In any case, end result is horrific but I can't "reset" or uninstall.
Do I need to reinstall LR and photoshop to fix this? More likely this is now somewhere in Windows but I have already tried to delete everywhere I could find.

Jun 11, 2012 I managed to get my catalog transferred from Elements 8 and it is now working well. Feeling confident in the Library module I went to move on to the Develop module and now I have another problem, the photos are not showing up to edit. They are visible in the film strip and the top left corner, but not the actual screen. All the metadata is also available.
Possibly a related problem (which may also need a resolution) is:While all the data is there in Library module it is showing metadata conflict for many photos.
BTW some additional information which may be relevant.
-I have already upgraded to 4.1.
-I have the photos on a network drive.
-Photos are Raw DNG format

Now installed LR 3.5 will not open. After system restore to day before yesterday, message that "Adobe AIR is damaged". What is AIR? How do I get LR back up & running right?
