I opened Lightroom 3 and clicked "Help", the clicked "check for updates" and it said there are no updates available for this software! Which is not true. Jan 24, 2014I have been using LR5.3 since the update. For the past couple of weeks I've been having difficulty with backup. The error message is that it is failing the integrity check and won't backup. If I unchecked the integrity box, it does backup. If I check the integrity box it fails backup and say that the catalog is corrupt. When I restart LR, it does repair and I;m back where I began. This problem began cropping up a couple of weeks ago. I've reinstalled LR, I've done a full scan of my computer and still, it continues. I'm on Windows 7.

May 31, 2012I recently upgraded my LR 4.0 to 4.1, under Win7 64-bit. In launching LR 4.1 just now, I got a dialogue box "Catalog Point Curve Check" with text "Checking Catalog Point Curves". That persisted for a minute or two, then I got a box "Point Curve Recovery Results" with text "One or more photos have recovered point curves. ..." I followed the included link to read [URL] but still don't quite understand.
In fact, there is now a collection, as the URL suggests, which has exactly two old images from 2010. Why did this point curve issue come up all of a sudden and is there an issue with these two images?

2. I have Canon raw files and tiffs and want to upload to 500PX and other web site galleries in one action. Is it possible? How do you set up an action to convert an image, say a tiff, to a certain size and then save as a jpeg and upload to 500pX using the plugin all in one action? At the moment I am saving the tiff as a jpeg to a correct size using a pre set, but then exporting to another folder ready to either manually upload or re-import to Lightroom as a jpeg then upload.

Jan 19, 2013When I am capturing images in LR4 from a CF card or camera I want to enlarge individual photos in loupe view to check for focus, etc. I am talking about the time PRIOR TO IMPORT. Some of my images will enlarge with no problem but some images become completel pixilated when I try to Zoom in. This does not happen when I try to import from the hard drive. Is this normal. My render preview is set to Standard.

Dec 12, 2013My Lightroom 5 Catalog will not load - I get a message saying it needs to be repaired. When I try to repair it, it will not finish and I get a message that it may repair at a later time. Jan 12, 2014In LR4, I was able to create a gpx file on my iPhone while on a photowalk using the "Trails" application. When done the walk, I would email myself that tracklog and save it on my desktop. Using LR5, I can select my gpx file on the desktop, but it does not load. Nothing happens. In LR4, it would show my route on the maps screen and I could auto tag images. But not in LR5.
How can I get LR to read my track logs again so that I could auto tag my photographs.
I ensured that the camera and iPhone clock were both synchronized before the walk.
I am using OSX (all updates applied) and LR5.3.

Feb 13, 2013I just moved my Lightroom catalog to a new PC. I designated the new folder correctly and have no lost files but my thumbnails only show when I scroll to them in Library. If I go to a new position, I have to wait for them to refresh (create?). I have optimized the catalog several times. Is there an easy way to refresh them all? I have plenty of memory, computer speed, and Lightroom expertise.

Bridge handles the previews so fast and it is so much nicer going through with that program, but I'd like to move my workflow to LR4 solely. Jul 11, 2013I have a video folder of 16 clips generated by a D300s. I am able to load about half of them properly into the LR catalog. The remainder appear to load but without thumbnails. (I get a message "Preview is unavailable for this file" when I can see the preview in the Windows folder directly.) The remainder also do not play in LR although the first eight do. I have tried rebooting and reloading. This works with a few but not all of the clips.
I tried the process again, rebooting and reloading the files directly from my memory card, first to the windows folder and then to LR., This is the message I got from LR.
There is a problem with the video file (16) C:UsershalevinePicturesPhotographs 2-14-2013 and laterGrandchildren Eleanor20136-30 to 7-7Cambridge videos 6-30-07-7-2013DSC_5754.AVI (repeated for the other 15 files.)
The file sizes are between 80 and 220 mb. (Quicktime is installed on my computer and they open fine in it.)

Aug 1, 2013A few days ago I was importing photos (RAW to DNG) and my computer locked. i had to reboot, and ever since when i import photos they will not load (preview) in Library. Also Histogram just reads "calculating", but no graph loads in. If I go to develop, the photo will load in, and I can export it with no issue. I just can't view photos in Library. also, photos imported prior to that event will load in and can be viewed in Library. Just nothing going forward. My OS is Vista and i'm running Lightroom 4.4

Dec 15, 2011I'm using both Lightroom 3.5 and Photoshop CS5 on a 64-bit Windowx XP-Pro system with 8GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.
I use an X-rite color checker to generate custom camera profiles whenever I do portraits or other color critical photo sessions. The camera profile is generally placed in the "Documents and Settings...{user...}Application DataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles " folder.
When I try to apply a profile in either lightroom or ACR the newely created profile is not visible in the camera profile drop-down box. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.
I've used color profiles before and have always been able to create and select a profile. Now I'm no longer able to do this. I would prefer to not re-install all my Adobe software since then I'd have to reinstall all the updates and plug-ins.
How can I get lightroom and ACR to see these profiles and use them?
