Lightroom :: 3.5 - How To Drag New Virtual Copy To Collection
Dec 5, 2011In Windows Lightroom (3.5 at the moment), if I select one or more images and then, on the left, right click and create a new collection, I'm given the option of creating new virtual copies of the selected images for inclusion in the new collection. I use this all the time.
However, once the collection is created, I've not found a simple, one-step method to add virtual copies of additional images to that collection. Best I've come up with is the three step process: create a virtual copy, drag the virtual copy to the collection, and then remove the virtual copy from the folder/collection where I created it. It would be far cooler if there was, say, a keyboard shortcut, e.g. alt-click-drag or something, that would do this all in one step. Is there such a method?

The most logical thing to me would be to just drag the icon on the map to the right location but that only moves the map and not the icon. I don't know the exact coordinates, I can only find the rigth location by looking on the map.

I also tried matching Any Searchable Text set to the collection set name, but that doesn't seem to work...wouldn't all photos in the collection set be associated with that string? Looks like no.

Lightroom :: Unable To Import Pictures To LR3
Jan 30, 2012I have just installed LR3 on my new computer and is unable to upload my photographs. I have change permissions as suggested in other forums, it recognises my Nikon D3 and shows the pictures but when I try to import I get the following message "the following files were not imported because they could not be read" I have LR3 on my laptop and it works fine.

Jun 30, 2013Lightroom 4 can no longer see the pictures on my SD card when I insert it into my computer. The photos are definately on there, when I right click and press 'show in finder' they are all right there, yet Lightroom can't see them - it show '0 Photos' on the memory card tab .
I played around moving pictures from sub folders on the SD card to the first level (which didn't make a difference), and checked read/write permissions (which all seem fine).
Gear:
-IMac, OS X v10.7.5, Intel Core i5.
-Nikon D5000
-Mix of SanDisk and PNY Professional memory cards (all have pictures on and Lightroom cant see any!)

Lightroom :: 4 - Unable To Open Individual Pictures?
Jan 15, 2013Using Windows 7 with Lr 4.
Everything is updated and the pictures in question have been successfully imported into Lr.
I would like to open individual pictures into Lr, but I am unsuccessful thus far.
I right-click on the picture and choose Open with Lr does not appear in the list of programs, so I click Choose Program.
I went to the Desktop and selected the Lr icon.
Now when I right-click on individual pictures, Lr appears as one of the available programs, but when I select it, the Lr Import dialog opens even though the image has been previously imported into Lr.
Is there any way to correct this so when I right-click on a picture and choose Lr, it opens into the Library or Develop module?

Aug 10, 2012I uploaded the lightroom 30 day free trial that i received when i purchased adobe photoshop elements 10. I am now unable to upload pictures directly to my computer because every time i put a memory card in, lightroom pops up and they upload there. Because of this i can not upload the photos to any other program, including the program that i spent $80 to use. I have tried deleting the shortcut, but this doesn't uninstall the lightroom program. I am not sure how to uninstall it because i want it off of my computer.

Sep 28, 2012I am creating new tool palettes for lab equipment blocks. I was able to create a new palette and drag and drop blocks into it. When I go to create other palettes I am unable to drag and drop blocks into them. I am able to drag and drop into the tool palette I previously created and then drag and drop into the new palette.
But when I shut off Autocad and reopen the new palettes disappear. How can I create a new tool palette and it works, then create other tool palettes and I can not drag and drop to it? I am using Autocad Architecture 2013.
Photoshop :: Unable To Double-click Or Drag / Drop Files To Open?
Sep 4, 2013I'm running Photoshop CC 64 on a Windows 7 64 machine and am only able to open files in Photoshop by going to File->Open. Double-clicking from Explorer doesn't work and i can not drag/drop files into the open application window or taskbar icon. Right clicking on files and selecting "Open with" also doesn't work.
I checked file associations and made sure to choose CC 64. If I right click on the shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator" which I have to do in order to get files to open between Lightroom and Photoshop (both need to be Run As Administrator), I'm still unable to open from Windows Explorer. However, if I check the box to "Run this program as administrator" in the shortcut's Compatibility tab, I can double-click to open from Explorer but am prompted with a UAC warning every time. Dragging/dropping into the open app still doesn't work.
Opening between Bridge and PS works as expected so long as both programs are "Run As Administrator"
