I am unable to drag-n-drop from Grid View.Maybe I am not understanding correctly but I thought it should always be possible to grab an image in the Grid View and drop on a folder or collection on the left.
View 3 RepliesI've seen several adobe tutorials and youtube videos that show moving photos or folders by drag and drop in the library grid view. I cannot get it to work.
Steps:
1. Mousedown on a photo (not the frame) in the grid
2. Drag the mouse to a folder in the "Folder" pane (left of the grid)
3. Mouseup on the destination folder
Results:
Nothing happens. The mouse cursor doesn't change from the arrow. There is no indication I can drag and drop. The photos are not moved.
The photos are stored on a NAS. Of course I can move them around via Windows Explorer, but I want to do this from inside LR4 for obvious reasons. From LR4, I can create new folders, but I still cannot move photos into those folders. I also tried creating a new folder on a local drive. Again, I was able to create the folders, but was not able to move any photos into the folder.
I am unable to drag and drop the files (even .psd) into CS6 beta from my folder.. My OS is windows 7 U 64 bit.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI am creating new tool palettes for lab equipment blocks. I was able to create a new palette and drag and drop blocks into it. When I go to create other palettes I am unable to drag and drop blocks into them. I am able to drag and drop into the tool palette I previously created and then drag and drop into the new palette.
But when I shut off Autocad and reopen the new palettes disappear. How can I create a new tool palette and it works, then create other tool palettes and I can not drag and drop to it? I am using Autocad Architecture 2013.
I'm running Photoshop CC 64 on a Windows 7 64 machine and am only able to open files in Photoshop by going to File->Open. Double-clicking from Explorer doesn't work and i can not drag/drop files into the open application window or taskbar icon. Right clicking on files and selecting "Open with" also doesn't work.
I checked file associations and made sure to choose CC 64. If I right click on the shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator" which I have to do in order to get files to open between Lightroom and Photoshop (both need to be Run As Administrator), I'm still unable to open from Windows Explorer. However, if I check the box to "Run this program as administrator" in the shortcut's Compatibility tab, I can double-click to open from Explorer but am prompted with a UAC warning every time. Dragging/dropping into the open app still doesn't work.
Opening between Bridge and PS works as expected so long as both programs are "Run As Administrator"
We're testing some new machines running Windows 7 64-bit with both AutoCAD Architecture 2011 and 2012 64-bit installed.
When dragging and dropping a model space view onto a sheet, instead of the folder with paperclip symbol, we're getting a circle with a line through it prohibited symbol. This only occurs when our project files are on our network. When we use them on a local machine this does not occur.
We cannot drag and drop onto new sheets either.

We are running on a Novell Linux Open Enterprise Server network. We previously had a problem with not being able to open any sheets if another drawing was open, which we resolved by disabling Novell File Caching. We are also now experiencing unhandled e06d7363h exception errors with any type of file access in the Project Navigator. This crashing also does not occur when the files are on the local machine.
Since upgrading from LR4 to 5 I've been unable to drag and drop images int ofolders. am trying to create a book in hte book module but as drag.drop doesn't work its impossible

Is there a way to open the Camera RAW files in CS5 right from LR3?Sometimes I want to manipulate the original RAW file in CS5 without having LR3 convert it to a PSD or TIFF format first.
Drag-and-drop from LR3 to another application does not work. I have to use the export option which converts the RAW file before handing it off.
This is not convenient when I want to use LR as a slide box or sorter for other applications. This would also solve the CS5 issue if I could just drag the RAW file and drop it on the CS5 icon.
Setup: Lightroom 4.4 on OSX (Snow Leopard), 24" iMac.
Situation: Imported a large number of RAW files from camera (Canon 5D Mk III) into LR4. Several of the photos are a series of HDR shots that I want to MOVE to their own subfolder. Create the subfolder (HDR) under the date-labelled folder that the files were originally imported into. Select all files in the HDR series, and from the filmstrip, center the mouse pointer over one of the thumbnail images, and then CLICK and DRAG the files over the HDR subfolder.
Well, this where the process fails.while hovering the files over the subfolder, I get the classic "COPY" plus sign, and no key or sequence of keys will change if from COPY to MOVE. If I drop the files as is, they copy over into the subfolder. Ok, this wouldn't be such a bad thing; I can do like any other copy operation, and go back to the original folder and delete the files, right?! WRONG!!! Evidently the copied files are aliased to their originals, and if I delete from either location, they ALL go away. I had this exact problem two years ago with LR3, and had found a solution to it that fixed things so a move was an actual move. Unfortunately whatever I did to fix it went bye-bye with the upgrade to LR4, and yes, I've searched and googled myself silly trying to find the answer again, to no avail.
In Lightroom4 map module, I can not drag and drop photos onto the map from the filmstrip? I select the photos, and then try and grabbing them to drop them on the map and when I click on one of the pictures to grab, it deselects the others I've selected and only hightlights the one photo, ironically, I can not even drop the one photo onto the map.

View 6 Replies View RelatedToday I was browsing through my images library and I noticed that some of the images are dimmed. By dimmed, I mean that they appear desaturated... as though LR4 is trying to tell me something about the image... but I don't know what.
If I click on the image I can edit it. It appears normal when it is the "current image" (bright colors again). But as soon as I make another image the "current image" the other image goes back to the dimmed look.
This is only true for some images.
I was able to re-order images in the grid view just by dragging them. Now I cannot move images.

Just seeing the "this photo has keywords" tag does not work. I need to see the actual keywords, without having to click on each individual photo to see them.

I changed my preferences to 'treat jpegs as separate files' but what do I do with all the files I already imported and corrected?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI am using LR 4.2 (on Mac) and have been using LR since 2.0. Yesterday all the badges on all my photos disappeared in Grid View. I didn't change any prefernce settings, or update that I am aware of. When I go to View > Grid View Styles> Show Badges, that option is checked, however it is grayed out. On the Mac that usually indicates it is not a viable option.
I've restarted the program but the problem remains. how to bring back badges?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, when I re-import Photoshopped files back into LR3, they fail to appear in Grid View. But they DO APPEAR in the 'Import' screen, grayed out, as normal. So why is LR suddenly not showing them in Grid View.Here's a screenshot of the import window that clearly shows the image that does NOT appear in Grid View. Notice that image# 2012_3_4-Edit.tif resides immediately next to it's original 2012_3_4.tif file. It obviously is part of the catalog, LR knows it's there but it does not appear in the Grid. I really need a solution to this because I've build my workflow around moving files around with LR and this is a major setback for me now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Flickr and 500px set up in Publish Services of Lightroom 5.2. I can send photos to both sites OK. The "problem" is once I move from the "Flickr" highlighted bar to 500px both Bars are illuminated. The Flickr bar does not seem to release focus and I can no longer return to the Flickr Grid view. However, if I then double click the Flickr Bar and enter "Edit photoset" then add, say, a "space" to the Photoset name, press edit then the focus is released and the "Grid View" will return when I next click on the Flickr Bar.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhaving just purchased version 4.1 a few days ago. I've imported about 2,500 RAW image files into the program and am learning the ropes for developing and organizing them.
The problem I'm having is that much of the time I'm unable to select photos in the grid view. When I place the mouse pointer over a square in the grid containing a photo, I expect it to "light up" and display the icons for flagging/rotating/rating the photo. In practice, this doesn't happen most of the time and grid squares that won't "light up" cannot be selected. As I move the mouse around the grid, the occasional grid square will act as expected but most of the others will not. The behavior seems random -- a grid square that acts properly one moment may not respond the next time I mouse over it, and other grid squares that were unresponsive may now act as expected.
I've tried pausing over the image for an extended period of time in case this is a performance issue, but if a grid square doesn't light up when I first put the mouse pointer over it then leaving the pointer on it won't get it to respond. If I move the pointer elsewhere on the grid and then bring it back, the square may or may not react.
My setup:
4-core Mac Pro
5GB of memory
Mac OS 10.7.4
