View 2 RepliesI upload my photos to iPhoto first, then put them on my desktop for easy import into Lightroom. However when I'm done importing and put the photos on my desktop into my trash bin, the photos in lightroom say "“IMG_7944.jpg” could not be used because the original file could not be found." I don't understand why it's suddenly doing this because this is how I've imported my photos for years?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just transferred all my files to a new Macbook Pro. The problem is when I open Lightroom now the photos are not in the catalog.
They are in Photoshop under My LIghtroom Photos but they do not show up when I open Lightroom. How can I get my Photos back into the Lightroom catalog.
They are on the older Macbook Pro and they are backed up on an external hard drive.
I have more photos ending up lost. Most I've done nothing t,o or moved since importing. I've tried the directions outlined in "help" but get the message "file not found" or "folder not found". All missing photos can be seen on my screen but I can't do anything with them. how to recover and have access to them?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running 64 bit Lightroom 3.5 on Windows 7. I've been using Lightroom for about 2 years, this is a problem that just came up this weekend.
When in the Develop module and selecting Export and selecting Export Location and a folder to export to, the dialog box now only shows me the Desktop and my User folder - it does not show either of the two hard disks in my PC. These disks do show up in Windows Explorer and the Library module is able to find these disks and load the photos on them.
I have a folder of around 6GB worth of photos (all in JPEG format, and all taken using Nikon D7000 on the same day), then when I imported them into LR4.3, only around 100+ were imported. I then tried to import the remaining photos, but an error came out an said "no photos or videos were found to import".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled Lightroom, because it was too slow on my computer. It put a lot of library files and directories in My pictures folder.
When I use a backup program (SyncbackSE) to backup my pictures, it starts to scan all the Lightroom library files and it takes forever (hours and counting). Even though Windows cannot find the directories (with hidden and system files shown). I want to completely delete the Lightroom directories, because now I can't backup my images anymore. It is a pain in the dark places.
When I click to edit a photo that I've re- imported, it says "photo missing" and "file can not be found". How can I re- access this photo and continue to edit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open photos that I've previously imported, Lightroom is saying "Folder Can't be found" and when I try to re-import so that it can locate the source, it won't re-import because it thinks the photos are still in the catalog.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI have a couple custom lens profiles as lcp files. They worked in LR 3 and LR 4.2. But, even though I copied the folders with the lcp files into C:Program Files Adobe Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 Resources Lens Profiles 1.0 LR 4.3 never finds the profiles.
I need to be able to apply these lens profiles (they are for my Rokinon 7.5 mm Fisheye lens).
How can I get LR 4.3 to 'find' them?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a behaviour in LR4 that I dont know how to solve.
In the Catalog im supposed to have 11432 images, but when looking in the selection of keywords I only find 10567 when I have seletec all of them.
In the catalog I cant find any images without a keyword so I'm wondering from where this miss match is comming.
I have been working with LR 2.7 for a while now and was happy with it.
PC - Win XP - LR3.5
Photo's stored on external hard disk (K:)
The RAW captures of a Nikon 3100 I recently won were not being recognized/imported by LR 2.7 and I installed the 3.5 version to see if it was any better. I would have to buy it anyway by the time I switch to Win7. In 3.5 the Raw files were imported, the settings of 2.7 were nicely taken over but now and I cannot export the files I have worked on to the K: drive of the external hard drive as I used to do with 2.7.
I get the message 'The folder could not be found' though it is set in the Export Window and I am looking at it in Win Explorer.
The original RAW captures are on the D: drive but that was always the case with 2.7 as well... I am doing it exactly as I used to with 2.7.
I tried with a photo from an older folder of my usual camera and everything works fine there. The problem seems to be only with the Nikon files. Now I start wondering if there is something with raw format of this Nikon camera that is putting LR in a twist...
This is incredibly frustrating to have a $2,000+ camera that cannot connect to Lightroom. It really impacts the value of both Lightroom and my camera if they don't talk to each other.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been forced to check under the hood in LR due to the fact that I have lost a big chuck of my keywords, and I'm contemplanting if its worth importing a copy of my backup copy. I am debating if I should just go back and re-enter all the missing keywords, or retrieving a backup copy. However, I read somewhere that its wise to change the name of the master catalog before retrieving a backup copy.
However, I found multiple folders of my catalog in my master folder. I'd like to know which one should I delete without causing any major collateral damage.
1- folder 176-2.lrcat created 3-26-11 2:51 PM 289 MB
2- folder 176-2-2.lrcat created 2-12-13 10:32 PM 363 MB
3- folder 176-2-3.lrcat created 2-24-13 5:24 PM 287 MB
4- folder 176-2 copy.lrca created 3-26-11 2:31 PM 179 MB
In addition, there are corresponding Previews.lrdata for each folder.
How do I recover a file of images I removed from LR 4.3 that is not found in my desktop recycle bin?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.
When I merge LR5 catalogs the existing photos are overwritten by the incoming photos

View 10 Replies View RelatedAll kinds of stuff: web icons, buttons, etc..., adds. Should I add them all or are there types or categories of photos that would be fine to keep outside LR? If so, what kinds of photos would you add or not add? (I guess this question could apply to my past photos as well as future shots but perhaps, the answer would change slightly.)

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy does LR4 not import ALL my photos from the selected folder on my portable hard drive? "Include Subfolders" is checked and "suspected duplicates" are allowed. The difference is about 10,000 photos per the info from Windows Exployer (approx. 175,000 vs 185,000 files). I can view the missing photos in exployer and not in LR4. I have tried deleting the catalog and starting from scratch. I have tried importing from subfolders. Sometimes I get different results, but not much different.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can manually import photos to the correct location, or using a new catolog move / add the photos return to the last catolog to find half my photos missing. at this point LR allows you to 'find missing photos' If you find one missing photo it magically finds other missing photos from the same folder (exact same date) If Adobe would only allow its app to go out a directory or two when finding other missing photos this problem would go away for me, and its super easy to do, and it does not open up adobe to any new issues, only fixes a huge amount of mistakes.
