I easily found the Sync Settings function (to cloud) in Photoshop, but cannot find it in Lightroom. Lightroom is also not listed here: [URL].......
Is it not featured? If so, why? I've lost user presets before, and was expecting this to be part of the CC package.
whenever I sync any folder in LR3 some basic develop settings are applied. These happen to be my 'standard' edit settings - contrast, saturation, sharpening etc. but nothing major. I don't know if it's a bug, or something I've done myself. I can't seem to switch it off, I've tried looking at preferences (normal), the import presets (none), restoring Adobe default settings, resetting all settings and using these as the default. Nothing works.

When I select a number of images (in the film strip) and either
1) paste settings that I've previously copied from another image or
2) sync settings from one image to the rest
... the settings are not applied to all the selected images. The settings are only applied to a seemingly random subset of the selected images.
I'm going to try to pin down the exact circumstances that make this occur.

I am using Lightroom 4.4 on a 2013 Macbook Air OS 10.8.4.
I cannot see the Switch enables auto sync on the Metadata sync button. Its currently visible on another machine a MacPro with Lightroom v4.3. I find this useful to be bale quickly enable and disable the syncing of metadata. Has this been dropped in v4.4 or have I missed a prefs setting somewhere?
I am trying to adjust two D800 files simultaniously. Thus I select both images, toggle the Sync button to the Auto Sync state.
But, the adjustments done to the most selected image do not copy over to the other image, while this is the expected behaviour.

Just added AI CC to my home machine, changed my prefs, etc. and then synced them to the cloud.Then I installed AI CC on my work machine, and the Sync button isn't even an option. It's grayed out.Is one supposed to be "signed in" somehow when using CC?

Flick panning and animated zoom were turned on, when these were off previously. Starting a new sync did ask me to pull my settings over from creative cloud.
When I try and sync my application settings, I always get an error message saying 'sync settings failed - can't connect to creative cloud'. However, I am signed in to the creative cloud application manager (sitting in my task bar, saying I am signed in) and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. Why can't my photoshop sync my settings?

I have been a PS user since 2006 and while I'm not a professional artist I am a very keen photographer. Additionally, I can still pull out and the first year trial is relatively affordable for a CS6 user.
My question is this:
Once I signed up I reloaded CS6 from the CC product options. I then checked for updates and it reloaded some updates. So how do I know I have the CC version? The System Info states that I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2 (13.1.2 20130105.r.224 2013/01/05:23:00:00) x64.
The reason I ask is that I saw an interesting blog item on syncing settings with the CC Cloud. When I checked my CS6 menu, I did not have the Sync option. I am thinking that this may not be the correct way to update my in-place installed version of CS6 to the more current version of CC CS6.
I installed Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC on my laptop. I customized all my settings like keyboard shortcuts, tool panels, brushes and so on. However, now I'm trying to sync with my desktop computer and everytime it asks me if I want to keep local or remote settings, I choose, as indicated by your tutorial video, "keep remote" settings. But it not only doesn't work, as also replaces my settings in the cloud with the ones from the computer I'm trying to sync (which are the default settings.)
I also tried to find this feature for Indesign CC, but I could find.
Not sure if this is by design, but when I set up LT2013 and sync to cloud at LOCATION A, the settings at LOCATION B get updated fine. But it doesn't bring accross the changes to the CUI / Ribbons / Workspace from LOCATION A.
I have checked and have all options to sync enabled, bar printers. I would expect the appearance and workspace should sync.
I can see the sync settings button but is not enabled how do I sync it?

2) My settings refuse to upload to CC no matter what I do. I've tried deleting the stored settings from my CC account. I've tried signing out of CC via the help menu in PP and then signing back in again. I've tried clening the media cache. how can I achieve the best of my graphics card. I have a 6490M AMD Radeon, an i3 Sandy Bridge Processor at 2.2GHZ and 8GB of RAM. I am not looking for making Photoshop work the fastest possible. I know what computer I am working with. What I need are the best settings for my graphics card (anti-aliasing, vertical sync etc.) all those settings that you can change from Quality to Performance. I've noticed that DRAW seems to forget whatever settings I choose for duplicate.
So, I found the following in the index:
"Copying objects quickly. You can use other methods to create copies of objects quickly, without using the Clipboard. You can use the plus sign (+) on the numeric keypad to place a copy of an object on top of the original object, or you can create copies instantly by pressing the Space bar or right-clicking while dragging an object."
The + sign thing is cool. Wish I had known. But the Space bar drag either doesn't work at all or puts down one copy at what is apparently a set distance from the original, and then a second copy wherever I release the mouse button. ? Win7, DRAW X6.
I’m a long time Photoshop user but recently picked up LR4 to try to fine tune my workflow. I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.
Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.
When I right-click my folder in Library, there is no sync option.
View 1 Replies View Related i've been able to import photos directly from my iphone by plugging my phone into the USB/iPhone cable (and then into my mac) and then doing "Import Photos from Device" and my iPhone would appear with the standard grid of photos. Ive imported a thousand photos or so from my phone that way.
when i plugged my phone in and tried to import my photos, in LR 4.1 (not 4.2), many of the new photos said "no preview available". I thought that was odd, so i thought i'd disconnect and then reconnect the phone.
At that point, the import screen says "no photos found".The photos are still available on the phone itself, but not in LR. I rebooted and upgraded to LR4.2, but still i'm getting the same thing.
I downloaded the lastest LR version and the mobile APP; however I still do not have the sync button on the LR Desktop.

If I reset the spotting on a source photo and sync the "NON" spotting to a target photo that has spotting, the spotting is not cleared as it should be on the target photo.
If I reset the spotting on a source photo and put ONE new spot in the source photo and sync this ONE spot to a target photo that has spotting, all the spotting is removed from the target photo and the ONE spot is the only one in the target photo as expected.
Shouldn't the sync of spotting always work the same, with or without spotting in the source photo?
I think this should be considered a bug or at least a design flaw. OSX 10.8.5 LR5.3

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the second time, which is two times too many, I've found myself browsing through images and noticed they were all starting to change. Essentially I've apparently instigated a sync settings command to too many images and it wasn't immediately noticable when it happened so I couldn't just do a Ctrl-Z to undo it. I want to make sure I'm not missing something that would allow me to sync all selected images back a step in History. I would think this would be an easy enough feature to add to any version of Lightroom (using LR3 for now because I'm waiting for the LR4 I purchased to get an update that might speed it up). I've checked out auto script programs but they're a bit unweildy and frankly Lightroom should have that feature available.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep my photos in a folder, with hundreds of sub-folders.
I use Photo Mechanic for tagging, selecting, purging and meta-data management becuase it is very fast. Then I import into LR by asking it to synchronize with the top folder.
The problem is that LR4 (and LR3 before it) identifies a couple of thousand photos as being "new" and needing to be imported, then when I tell it to Import by clicking the "Synchronize" button, it grunts for a minute or two and then comes back and says "No photos or videos were found to import". So if there is nothing to import, why does it keep saying there are 2,563 "new" photos? It hangs on this same number for weeks at a time, though it has crept up from LR3 when it was only about 1600.
Why is Synchronize out of sync? How can I get it really sychronized and keep it synchronized?
I have the box regarding JPGs adjacent RAW checked so that they are treated as separate images. I've tried checked and unchecked and it has no effect on this problem.
In Lightroom 4 develop mode, I have noticed that at the bottom of the righthand column there is a button, sometimes marked "sync" and at others marked "previous". It seems to change randomly between the two and I don't know why. I prefer it to be "previous". Why it changes and what I can do to return it to "previous" if it has changed to "sync"?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep my photos on two main drives: one archival drive which is the main storage for ALL my images and lives in my studio, and one that is my portable working drive which travels with me wherever I go. Using Lightroom 3, I import images during a shoot onto the portable drive, and then later I copy the images using Finder to the main archival drive. I don't do the copy while importing from my card because I don't have the time to wait during the shoot. Since I carry the portable drive with me, I make metadata and develop and other changes to the images from a particular shoot in Lightroom, all of which are saved to that portable drive.
My question is, is there a way to have Lightroom sync these changes over multiple hard drives? In other words, how do I sync all the changes I made to the images on my portable drive with the images I previously copied to my archival drive? If I make develop, metadata, and keyword changes to the images in a folder on my portable drive, the idea of having to do it all over again for the same folder on my archival drive seems intensely ponderous, and the idea of copying all the files again every time I make changes seems very time-consuming. Lightroom is so brilliant in so many ways, I'm hoping this is something it knows how to do as well.
To explain, the portable hard drive is a small USB powered drive that I can have with me at my day job or take with me to shoots, where I might find time to rate images, make develop settings, add keywords, etc. It's not possible to bring the archival drive with me everywhere, which means I work from the portable drive quite a bit. But I need for the archival drive to be in sync with the portable drive as much as possible, for obvious backup reasons.
Just upgraded to Lightroom 5. Hadn't used 4 in awhile, but I don't remember ever having this issue in 4.
I am working on multiple images where there are dust spots in the exact same locations, so I am using the heal brush on one, and applying the results to multiple images by syncing "Spot Removal". Sometimes it works, and other times I am left with a strange mark that looks more like a brush stroke. The "Spot Removal" sync is not working.
The images are extremely similar, so the original heal brush (and the chosen source spots) should work fine on all images - that is not the issue. I am syncing hundreds of images at the same time - don't know if that is part of the problem, however I can sync just 2 images that are right next to each othe - sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't.
May go back and try Lightroom 4 again, as I see lot's of issues with Lightroom 5 on forums.
