When I create a saved book in Lightroom 5 Book Module, the number of photos is listed to the right of the saved name in the Collections list, but there are no photos displayed in the Book itself. If I leave the Book Module and return, there is no change, all I see is the standard startup book template with a few blank pages.
How do I add new photos to a saved Book in LR5? When I put new photos into the film strip a brand new book is started! Also, if the Book is intended for Blurb, do the photos in the film strip have to be jpeg or does LR5 convert raw files for me?
In my lightroom library I have created a collection set called "Wedding". As I have 1000 photos from my wedding, within this Collection Set I have created 10 or more Collections to organise these photos (Ceremony, Reception, First Dance, etc.).
I have created a new 'Book' which as expected, has created a new Collection within my 'Wedding' collection set.
When I first create the book (before saving it) it seems like I can click on a page, then browse my Collections and add the photo that I desire to the page.
After I have saved the book, I can't so this. I want to work on my book later, and use my existing organisation of photos, and add photos to my books from these collections.
I know I am missing something basic (I am new to lightroom). I don't understand why I can't add a photo to my book after I have saved it. Each time I click on one of my other collections, a new unsaved book appears in the main project window.
I have worked out that if I copy all my wedding photos into the new "Book" collection, then my photos are available for use - but this defeats the purpose of organising my photos into separate collections, and it doesn't seem like you can create a sub-collection within the Book project.
I created a book in the lightroom 4 book module using a photo catalogue. This photo catalogue is updated with new photo every week in the library module, and I would like to be able to use these new photos in the book module. Is there a way to sync the library and book module so when I add some picture in my catalogue in the library module the new photos will appear in the book module?
I think I chose the wrong option when I saved a book, I clicked on save only used photos, I now cant add more photos. I think I should have saved a virtual copy. Do I have to start again?
I was testing Lightroom 4 Beta and I prepared a Blurb Book... I worked on it over a period of several days, and it was find, always there... It kind of automatically saved, once it has been created, for what I understood.
Today I was working on a photoshop file to creat a cover for it (no template allowing me to do what I needed inside of Lightroom), and that was the last step before to send it to print.
I had to navigate into the Library module to send pictures to photoshop. And when I get back to the Book module... it was all reset. No picture, only a 2 pages empty project.
I quited without saving anything, hoping to get the software back to where it was, but it didn't work. It seems I lost all my work.
I'm not familliar with apps that save projects on there own. Where is my book? How can I get it back?
I have created a saved book in LR4. I saved it not because I had finished but because I wanted to protect my work to date. Now I cannot add new images, although I can work with (move and remove) the existing images in the book.
I created a book in Lightroom using images in a Collection totalling 105 images. I saved a layout containing 26 images. Now I'd like to add more images to the saved layout.
I prepared a rough draft of a book and saved it with the tab on the right hand top of the main screen. Unfortunately, I saved it with the option of only saving the used images from the original collection. Later I brought up the draft book and tried to add some additional images, but see that only the images already used in the book are available on the image strip at the bottom. I need to get other images which are in the original collection. Is there any way to do this? If not, is there a way to save the entire format of the book and then start over with the same format but with the original full collection as the source of images in the bottom strip?
I made a Blurb book with Lightroom 5 saved it (I thought) in Lightroom and as a PDF on my desktop. When I got a print copy back from blurb I want to make edits. When I went to find the book in LR5 there was no sign of it. How can I upload the PDF version on my desktop back into LR5
I started a book the other day, knowing that it was going to be an ongoing project. When I was done working on it, I created the saved book and named it. I have no problems openning up the book from the collections. My issue is now that I saved it, it only shows the images that I used for the book in the film strip.
When I select "ALL PHOTOGRAPHS" in the filmstrip window (while still in my previously saved book), it opens a new unsaved book.
How do I keep my saved book open and get the rest of the images in my library in the filmstrip?
I have made a book within Lightroom 5 and saved it. Now gone back into it days later after needing to make an error change and now decided I want to add more images to it but from a different images folder but its not allowing me. I have tried dropping and dragging from the folder in library to the folder named within books but it just shows a circle symbol and doesn't work. I have tried to add through file and import but doesn't work, it just adds new pictures to my library but not to the book of images. I have tried adding through adding new category but same.
i cannot export my saved book to pdf or jpeg or blurb. Nothing works. If i start a new book , then it works but i would have to redo the entire layout.
Right now, as far as I can tell, the address book is a totally independent list that does not read from your address book, doesn’t automatically remember addresses you send emails to, and has no provision for synching to any other address list.
Is there a way of applying a Text Style Preset globally to all photos in your Book? I changed my background color to near black globally and since the default font is also black, all of my captions need to change to white. I'd also like them a little larger. It seems the only way of doing this is by selecting each caption individually, then changing its preset. That's ok for a few photos, but not very appealing for 100.
I have saved my photos in RAW format and imported them into Lightroom. I have then made changes to them and exported them from Lightroom as JPEG files. However, when I go to a printing kiosk and get the photos printed, they are all darker than what they displayed in Lightroom. What do I need to do to be able to print accepable photos?
I created a book, saved it and am trying to reopen it as the saved book and it is only showing each individual page saved. Not the book as it was created.
I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
How do you order a photo book that has been created and saved? Only prints are offered as a selection. Do I have to export the images to iPhoto to get this done or is it still possible to order it with Shutterfly via Elements.
I am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2. It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.
I purchased Lightroom 5 and am creating a photo book through Blurb. I accidently erased 38 pages, so after I re-created them, I clicked on Create Saved Book, which put it in Collections. Now I am trying to work on the book again, and can open it, but when I go to the Library of photos, Lightroom automatically repopulates a new book with all the photos in that file and won't let me put them in the book I saved. How can I get this partially finished book so that I can use it?
When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.
I have built an album of photos in Organizer and can follow the Share path to a photo book using the Shutterfly option as these photos appear in the photo bin and can be dropped in the book's pages. My question is - I would like to use Shutterfly's more extensive selections for this book (found on their website) and the first activity required is to "get" the photos. They are not easily found even though I look in my "My Pictures" library. and Shutterfly's website does not show Elements Organizer as a source for getting photos to add. (even though they appear as an option under the "Share" portion of Organizer.
I just bought Photoshop CS5 this weekend, so I'm brand new to everything. I had edited a photo of my sister last night and went to save it by "save as" and I had made a seperate folder in my "pictures" library. Today I went to pull up the photo to show my sister, but the whole folder wasn't even there.
So I went in and re-edited the picture and saved it, recreating the folder and paying closer attention to what the picture was saved as (at the time I first saved it I hadn't realized that it was saved as a .PSD so this time I made sure that I saved it as a .JPEG). Still the folder itself isn't showing up. How can fix it/what am I doing wrong?
downsizing my photos useing the `save to web' option, thus reducing the pixels so that I can use them on my web site. However, something strange has suddenly happened when I use the save to web option and instead of being saved in the new smaller format, my pictures simply morph back to their origional size.
