I am new to LR 4, so I might be missing something here. But I imported my first batch of images, and the first 15 or so have fill light, brightness and contrast as adjustments. When I click on an image beyond that, those options go away. Why the menu would change. Can do to have the option to adjust the fill light, brightness and contrast on the others?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen using the adjustments brush to locally increase exposure(for example) it seems that not all pixels are covered. In the red display of the selected zone you can see black spots all over the zone that are not selected even after repeated use of the adjustment brush. The result looks like heavy noise and is pretty bad. I must say it gives the impression that it happens with "low light" pictures only!? Windows/XP3, Lightroom2.2
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am in the Develop module trying to use the Adjustment Brush. After selecting the brush I am not seeing the window below that allows me to apply the corrections (exposure, contrast, etc.) I want. This window does show up if I select Graduated or Radial filters.
I am using LR5 with Windows 7 and have ensured that there are no LR updates avaialble. I have the latest version.
raw images are not opening in photoshopcs5 nor tiffs with light room adjustment from lightroom3.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a few websites with a middle and dark grey. I'm looking for a really super light grey. I clicked on foreground, only web colors — and the 204, 204, 204 setting is nice. I then manually entered 240, 240, 240, same exact grey.
Is that right?
and is there a lighter grey. The picker was very limited in options.
I have a picture with faces, but the faces are heavily shadowed. In Picasa I would add a little fill light, but can't seem to see how to do it in GIMP 2.8. Is there a way?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn PSPx2 I used to select an area in an adjustment layer and then use the Flood Fill tool to create a mask. Did it quite often.
In PSPx4 the Flood Fill tool doesn't seem to work on adjustment layers. I can get the desired effect using the Airbrush, but it's a tedious and imprecise technique. Is this a known bug (I searched the forum but couldn't find it) or an intentional change?
Getting the following message when dragging layers between files - Could not complete your request because an adjustment or fill layer cannot be converted to the destination document mode. Original file was client created and supplied. I have isolated the issue- two hue/saturation adjustment layers. I can and will just recreate them in the new file, but am looking for a root cause or long term solution as it is a new client I believe will be sending me a good amount of production work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my CorelDraw X6 64bit (v16.3.0.1114) the Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment effect is not working on vector fills, but its fine on bitmaps in CorelDraw X6 and Photo Paint X6 as well.
It's not effective even after trying F8 reset.
Is there any solution to get its functionality back for vector fills also?

I just upgraded to lightroom 4.1 and the highlight and shadow recovery sliders have disappeared. It now looks like me old version 2. What happened to the new sliders?

Last year he had done a format C, but because he had recently changed the names of his multiple hard disks, he formatted the wrong one.
He had erased all of our pictures by mistake...
We were able to recover some of them but their are some problems, we can see the pictures in lightroom but then we see some warnings and cant change/access the pictures.
Some pictures have a question mark next to them (warning is: picture missing) and some have an exclamation point behind it (warning is: some problems have occur in lightroom while reading this picture).
I am not at all a lightroom user and even less a computer expert, but since all of my daughters pictures (since she is born) were lost, i hope to be able te retrieve some of them...
Recently my 9TB Raid 5 server catalogue was corrupted and the drive were put through an extensive RAID recovery. I will b recieving 4TB of the 9 back with CR2, TIFF, .mov and JPEG files. We are not sure if all the data is in these files. What is the most efficient way to create a new catalogue with all the complete files? Is there another program to analyze the files before beginning in LIghtroom?

When shooting on white seamless, I gradually bring up the background lights until I see the raw file just blowing out as I want it, at my shooting aperture. With LR4 and auto-recovery - using this method of 'metering' if you like - I'm adding 2-3 extra stops of light than I would expect before this happens, which then gives me wrap around and flare problems. I'd like to take back control of this, so I'm not guessing where my pure white is any more..

I have just upgraded to CS6 and when I open the adjustment layer and try to Command Click choose points in the photograph to drag the line up or down to darken or lighten I get instead some crazy saturation changes.

I thought the easiest way to do it would be creating a matrix of bulbs arranged by material ID and then design a pattern in multi sub-object materiel so I could somehow scrub through it and achieve animation effect. The material modifier allows to change ID for the whole object only and MaterialByElement shuffle ID`s in a random manner.

I am attempting to build a facsimilie enigma machine, I would like to know how best to create an effect so that when a key is pressed a corresponding letter appears to light up. Btw I am not looking for an animated image, I can take care of the transitions between on and off, I just need to create the two image states.

How do you lock the pivot point of a light to the light itself? I thought just adding a Axis node would move the light and pivot point but the pivot does not move. Is there a way of parenting them together?

I was wondering if anyone could post a good slicing tutorial that clearly explains how you can the html contents to your site, for expample once you've made a content box, how then do i slice it so that i can add text inside the box and the box can also get bigger the more text that is added. Also one little problem i seem to be having is that when i use the fill tool and fill inside a cut out (marching ants) it always overlaps the edges of the lines and looks like its been blurred,anyone know why this happens?

I would like to create a pattern (or similar) that I can use to fill an area using those images randomly selected. That is, they should all be aligned in a grid, but each tile of the grid should be chosen at random from one of the images. The purpose of this is to have a tiling that doesn't repeat, a la [URL] and, more generally, [URL]

Of course I could place them manually, but I may need to fill an area with thousands of these, and even if I did place them by hand, it wouldn't be very flexible as far as reshaping/resizing the tiled area, etc.
How do I use the standard Revit can lights in a wood joist floor with drywall applied to the bottom? If I place in a suspended ceiling, can lights light up just fine. However, if I use them in the floor space of a wood joist floor, the light itself gets covered with the floor. How can I get the light to cut the floor out so I can see the light when it is rendered?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had Lightroom for a bout a month and use my QNAP NAS to store images. This has always been ok until today.Today the light next the QNAP directory in the 'folders' dropdown of LR4 shows yellow rather than green. If I set folder status to display it says it's online and I can access the images fine.
The problem is that I have a custom renaming preset which takes the folder name and makes it part of the file name. While the light is showing yellow it no longer picks up the folder name (but will remane the file according to other presets such as date). It's really odd because the black bar just above the filmstrip tells me the name of the folder correctly so I don't know why the rename won't show it. I know the preset works correctly because 1) I have always used it before on this NAS and 2) it works fine for files on my mac HDD (which shows a green light status).
