May 15, 2013I am continuing to edit old videos to transfer them to DVD. I am currently trying to edit what I assume are old analogue 4:3 clips and find that even when played in the windows viewer, and again when I transfer them into Videostudio, that the Audio is about one third shorter than the film clip. I can understand the audio by dragging out the length to match the length of the clip, but the resulting sound is pretty dreadful.

Jun 19, 2013I've a nwe camera Canon 5D Mark III and I've some problems with these file.
When I edit in Corel Video Studio X6 all videos play in the preview screen bad because It have some short pauses.
The videos do not work in a continuous way.
I bought more RAM and now I've 12gb. Also I work with other HD files, like GoPro Videos, and I dont have problems in the preview. Maybe the container of 5D Mark III videos?

Yesterday, I mistakenly opened up the version 3 icon and put in several hours worth of image work, metadata changes, and created a couple of collections.
1. What will be the easiest way for me to update the changes to my version 4 catalog without undoing work that I have done in that from the last couple of weeks?

Jul 3, 2013I've got LR5 and I started with a completely new catalog, so no migration of anything old.I have lots of video clips from my GH3 but every time I try to play one in the Library it doesn't play. I look at Task Manager and dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe is pegged at close to 100% CPU usage and using 500MB of memory.

Oct 11, 2013My Lightroom 4.4 stopped importing videos and I don't know why. My Quicktime is up to date, my Lightroom is up to date, and quitting and opening Lightroom doesn't effect it. I tried purging the cache and it didn't effect it.
When I restart my computer and reopen Lightroom it will import a couple of videos and then stop working again.

Jan 10, 2012Most videos from smartphones and a lot from point and shoot cameras are taken in vertical format.There doesn't seem to be a way to flip these videos so that they show up the right way.Video flipping is extremely important for video management. I don't want to preview and edit my videos sideways.Is this feature hidden somewhere or is it just not there?
I am currently using Lightroom 3 for photos and Usher for videos and I was hoping Lightroom 4 could be the single app to manage both.

1. Would you recomend using a single drive for all of your photos and videos (I will be using a second drive to backup everything)? Does this slow down LR or cause any other potential issues?

Lightroom :: Swapping Drives With Videos?
Jul 13, 2012I have a Macpro with 4 internal hard drives. I keep photos on one of the drives and videos on two of the other drives and swap out these drives with other drives that have videos on them. I also use external drives that have videos on them. I want to import videos from all of the different drives that I swap back and forth.
1. What will happen if I tag videos on the internal drives and then swap them out with other drives? Will it just show a broken link to the video until I put it back in?

First of all, the import takes an extremely long time - imorting around 150 videos took over 4 hours, for example. Secondly, once I've imported the videos no thumbnails are created -- they're all grey squares -- and Lightroom then has problems finding the original file for playback, even though the location (on my local drive) hasn't changed.

Sep 10, 2013I have originals .mp4s that were made either with my GoPro (1st gen) or with a video camera and these seem to import just fine But the .mp4s I really want to import are the edited versions that were edited in Corel Photostudio in the 1080p or 720p .mp4 also windows says they are .mp4 the file extensions says its .mp4 also but when I go to properties the edited videos look as if they are audio files but they play just fine in windows media player (and I can see the video content) as for the originals unedited; same thing I can see/play them just fine.
I don't understand why LR4 can't import it? I have tried doing a conversion; but the conversion won't keep it in the same resolution, it tends to want to upscale making the video bigger and more grainy converted/upscaled versions ARE importable too.
Is there a specific .mp4 format/codec LR4 will only accept? If so what is it?

Jun 4, 2012I'm having difficulty getting my videos exported from LR4.1 and imported into iMovie11 (or converted with QuickTimePro).
I'm exporting with H.264 to maintain edits I've made (mov is just a copy of original video but does allow import into QuickTime).
When I import into iMovie11, the only visual is a still frame of the video. The audio works just fine, but there no video. I've optimized the video for full size to ensure its not a performance issue (also on a brand new iMac, so that shouldn't be the problem). From searching around it appears to be a codec issue, so I figured I'd convert it to a different format with QuickTime Pro. When I try and save as a self contained movie (mov format) QTPro fails and says that the movie "contains an incorrect time value". I've had some success with trial versions of other software that converts to different formats, but I don't want to have to buy another piece of software, or do a whole other step!

Oct 3, 2012I have the following issue. I can't import the Panasonic LX3 files in Lightroom 4.x (including 4.2) on my main Windows 7-64bit PC. I get the error message "The movie files contain no video frames". All RAW files from the LX3 are imported correctly!
Strangely, i can import them on my MBP running MacOSX Lion.

Mar 21, 2013I have a folder of around 6GB worth of photos (all in JPEG format, and all taken using Nikon D7000 on the same day), then when I imported them into LR4.3, only around 100+ were imported. I then tried to import the remaining photos, but an error came out an said "no photos or videos were found to import".

Jun 10, 2013The videos were from Fuji X100, Nikon D7000, Sony NEX-7. No matter how many different phrases I google, I could not find any info on this issue. This is a bug that needs to be fixed ASAP unless Adobe is giving up on video in LR.

Nov 16, 2012I tried to load videos from Canon 7D (.mov) and from a Sony NEX-7 (mp4) and either get a message "problem loading file" or the picture frame comes up in Grid View, with no image inside the frame. It shows the length of the video but I cannon see it. Ironically these same files, loaded in LR4, will run in Picasa.
