I have a Nikon D7000 camera and Lightroom 4 updated with the latest version and I can't get it to tether. Lightroom tether says no camera detected when it is. I have tried every thing in the trouble shoot guide but it doesn't work.
Lightroom does not seem to recognize my Nikon D7000. I connect the camera, open LR, and nothing happens. I can click Import, but it doesn't recognize the device. The D7000 comes with Nikon's ViewNX2 software which they want you to use for import. Do I really need to use that to import photos from the camera, then import them from ViewNX2 into LR? That seems like a pain. I just upgraded to LR 3.6
I am trying to import RAW files into Lightroom 3 from my Nikon D7000. I read that I need to update my Lightroom, so I downloaded the 3.6 version. I restarted my computer and reopened Lightroom and it is still showing the 3.2 version. How do I get Lightroom to update after the new version has been downloaded? Once this problem is fixed, then will I be able to import my .NEF files from my camera into Lightroom?
Why won't Lightroom 4.4 import my Nikon D7000 NEF RAW files? I even downloaded the latest Adobe DNG converter and converted all the NEF files to DNG then tried to import to lightroom - it didn't even recognise them?
I need to tether wirelessly with a Nikon WT-4 transmitter, Nikon D3S or D800. Lightroom will do this automatically with a wire, but I cannot seem to make this work where I can download image off camera and send to printer immediately.
In some cases I like the way Nikon processes the image on my D7000 and the resulting jpg image. If I could just use a preset to get the same result from a RAW file it would save a bit of time.
I assume Nikon is using some formula to come up with that 'look' and so any preset to create the same image from a RAW file created by either the D7000 or a D3 or D700? Or maybe they do it dynamically dependent on some image content logic? There are presets for film types, so maybe there are some presets for internal camera processing modes?
I just purchased a Nikon D7000. Shot some RAW files and tried to download to iPhoto, not possible. SO, installed Nikon VIEW NX2, and Transfer 2. RAW images downloaded to my computer (late 2008 Macbook Pro, Leopard 10.5.8, Camera RAW plug-in 6) into ViEW 2. But showing the followiing format: _DSC001.NEF Normally, it should read: DSC_001.NEF
SO within the Nikon software, I can work on the image, but I cannot export it into PS. It comes up with an error that the image format is unreadable. (Nor can I find how to get it out of VIEW NX2 , but that might just be my lack of reading all the info there, will see)
I contacted Nikon and they told me to change something in Image Capture in my MAC apps. I went there, but Image Capture was already set to the change they asked me to do.
I tried to download again, but same problem. I tried to download into iPhoto, in order to try and get it into PS, but it wouldn't. All files were unreadable. JPEG, however, does download, with both file formats, and opensin iPhoto and PS, whether there is a _ first or a letter first.
SO, I don't know what to do. I am assuming all my plug-in's are up to date.
My D70 RAW transfers fine!!! The D7000, not.
Any info out there??? Nikon has not replied back a second time when I responded to them.
I just bought a Nikon D7000 camera & need to convert Nikon RAWS (NEF) files & they are not recognized by my Adobe CS4 on my Mac 0sX 10.6.8
Do I need to update to CS5 or CS6. Also, would like the new software to allow me to still convert older pre-existing RAWS that are in my photo archives.
I am unable to open Nikon D7000 NEF files in Elements 8. I have been unsuccessfull in downloading the version 5.7 update from the web site. After downloading several times the files are still not recognized in Elements 8.
In order to read and edit a picture taken in RAW format by a Nikon D7000, using Photoshop Element 8, what should I do? Any plug in that I should download?
I realize that the 60D just came out but I would love to see tether support in LR3.3. I can get it to work using a watched folder with the EOS utility but not with direct tethering.
I have Lightroom 3 and have been using it with a Nikon D3000, I just got a new Nikon D7000 and Lightroom will not let me download my raw files. the note that I get says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom" and then lists the files that I tried to download.
After processing several photos of the surf taken in lower light conditions, I noticed severe digital noise in the darker areas of the photos-predominately the sky. This is not present in the RAW files taken with a Nikon D7000. I asked Nikon and sent them some reference photos and they claim it is in the way that LR3 converts the D7000 RAW files to DNG.
So i have USB3 and USB2 on a lenovo laptop running windows 8 and lightroom 5,2. I have the tether plugin enabled and I connect the camera to several usb cables made for tethering. The camera show up in windows as the D800 however lighttroom does not see it and says it can't find a camera when i enable etherd shooting. I have tried several cables, all the ports with all the cables. I have taken out the memory cards and tried in many modes and still no camera in lightroom so i can't shoot tehered.
