Lightroom :: 5 - Crashing Whenever Select Multiple Files
Jun 19, 2013My lightroom 5 is crashing whenever i select multiple files.

View 3 RepliesSo far the only way I have discovered is to laboriously click the checkbox on each image I want to import. It seems that one should be able to select a range with one click (e.g. holding down Shift and then clicking the last image in the range) or by using a context (right-click) menu. No dice.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to allow user to select multiple files inside the file dialog using scripts? So not just something like "*.ai" or "*.eps" but where the user can actually use their shift key to select a batch of files inside the file dialog and then the script would process each one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI click on the first image, and then hold the shift key and click on a second image, but it only selects the second image. This used to work!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running Lightroom 4 on an iMac with OS - Lion.
I am trying to create a slideshow with music in the background but I cannot seem to select more than 1 song. How can I select multiple songs?
A couple of things that seem to be missing in LR4. In all previous versions of LR, I could select non contiguous folders (or collections or a mix of the two) by holding down the Command key (using a Mac). That doesn't work in LR4. Also, when I create virtual copies (which I also do all the time), the copies lose the name of the original. They are simply name "copy 1."
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know this discussion title is a bit murky, but the problem is a bit odd. I have Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2. In this version, I will activate the Select Tool, check Auto-Select: Layer, check Show Transform Controls, and then while using the Select Tool I will drag to create a rectangle to select multiple layers with content within the specified area.
Unfortunately, this action only works when I begin the selection from outside of the canvas area. If started from within the canvas area, no rectangle will appear, it will show me a measurement of my selection size, and then no layers will be selected upon release.
This cannot be working as intended right? I mean multi-select dragging cannot be intended to only work when started outside of the canvas right? Is there some way to fix this issue? Is this a bug? See the images below for more information on this issue.
how to select only even or odd numbered files in lightroom? I need to reduce the quantity of images in my timelapse sequence. since there are 8250 images and doing this maually would be tediuos and make me want to kill myself.... : )
View 10 Replies View RelatedRight now, when i click one object and then another, the first object becomes deselected. Holding shift is the only way for me to select multiple lines right now (other than dragging of course) but that's not what I'm used to and it annoys me a lot. At first everything is fine but then after a while it does this without me changing any options at all.

Can i set up a Smart Collection to do this?

whats the trick with using this software?
Lightroom has a collection containing all images without keywords.
As soon as I apply a keyword to images they instantly disappear from the collection. This is alright when I only want to apply a single keyword, but how do I stop it happening when I want to apply multiple keywords to the same image(s)?
Lightroom 4.1 trial, Windows 7
and probably more, but when you consider how little functionality the loss of those three buttons give me, you can understand how little use I am getting out of CS6 so far.It makes no difference whether I use 32-bit or 64-bit.
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on a relatively new Toshiba Satellite C660-1LD with 2.53 gigahertz Intel Core i3 M 380 with 3892 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory* with onboard Intel(R) HD Graphics.(Processor & Memory details from Belarc Advisor)
I sometimes get a message on load saying that Photoshop cannot find my 3D settings (although my Graphics card has 3D capability), but as I'm not using Photoshop's 3D editing tools, this is no issue to me at present.
What needs correcting to enable me to select multiple files using Shift key? It isn't working for me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from CS4 to CS6 in after effects.
CS4 ran smoothly and fine.
However, when I start CS6 i get the typical loading screen, it then tells me that
GPUSniffer.exe has stopped working *I click close the program* Another window comes up After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: "<2076><GPUManager><2>Sniffer Result Code: 1
Then it closes everything. I read online this can happen with multiple moniters. My main screen is connected via SVGA to my graphics card, however my second (and smaller screen) is connected to the mobo and runs on VGA.
My graphics card is fully updated as is most of my other drivers.
I can take out the moniter and then AE boots fine, but I don't want to do this everytime just for AE.
My only solution to this is leaving the error message there and waiting for AE to load, or clicking close and having everything crash.
I encountered the following problem: wenn exporting multiple files from Lightroom as JPEG files, I get a random error message that Lr couldn't export some of these files. In the Windows explorer these 'half' export files can't be delete unless Lr is closed. After deleting all the export files, reopening Lr and doing another export run, the same problem occurs, but now on other files. This problem seems to happen at random files.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I went into LR4 just now I must have hit a button and all of my 700+ edited images from a specific collection started changing back to their original state. What did I push? How do I get them back without having to do it one by one in the history mode?
View 1 Replies View Related In Library Module of LR4.4 under Vista 32, I have corrected a "Capture Time" of a single jpg Photo via the "Edit Capture Time" dialog. The new date correctly shows up in the "Date Time Original" EXIF field of the Metadata panel on the right.
Now, I want to sync that date to other jpgs which all come with incorrect "Date Time Original" - so, I highlight the above photo, mark the other ones to less light grey, press "Sync Metadata". THe dialog of "Sync Metadata" appears, showing the new date under "ICPT image" as "date created" - so far so good. I mark that field, and press the ok button and the sync runs. After that, no change is shown to the respective field of any of the photos metadata fields to be sync'd, no sync has actually happened, and even the "Save Metadata to file" command does cure this situation.
Using the command with a single target file instead of multiple ones does not work either.
Why can't I update a set of superold pictures to their correct "date created" date via Metadata sync? This Metadata sync does not sync.
I can't believe I can't get this working.
Say I have 15 images with the same 10 keywords in every file. One of the keywords is "banana" and I want to remove it from all 15 files. I select all the 15 files. When I do that one becomes "active" (it gets lighter gray highlight than the 14 other images). I then go to the Keywording panel and manually remove "banana" from the list.
When I look through files to see the change all but the one that was active STILL has the "banana" keyword applied. I have also tried selecting the 15 files and made the file without the banana keyword active and run "Sync Metadata" and removed "banana" from the "Keywords" field in the dialog box. Same thing happens. No change to the files that aren't active.
When plotting from AutoCAD Map 3D 2013, after 7-8 plots, the programme crashes (with a warning to report the crash to Autodesk). This happens whether we plot to pdf or to the printer (HP 5500dn). This is happening to every user in my office. We print across a University wide network for the printer (which I think is using the HP Universal Print Driver), but the pdf creator is on each individual machine (no network needed). It's irritating when you are trying to plot 15-20 figures and have to keep re-starting AutoCAD.
The machines are Viglen, 64bit, Windows 7, 8GB RAM, 3.3GHz.
I tried to edit some raw files as layers in PS CC from LR5 (Photo>Edit in>Open as layers in Photoshop). I want to do this for blending layers. One file works but 2 or more files doesn't. PS opens and nothing happens. If have the latest versions of LR5 and PS CC.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing X5 pro with the updates applied. Over several versions and several years, I developed the habit of converting the video .MOD files created by a JVC camcorder to .mpg before doing any editing using them. For the purpose of this topic, the reasons for that are unimportant. But for the first time, in the last few days I needed to get several basic projects done quickly and elected to bypass this mechanism and work directly with the .MOD files in the edit mode.
And as a result, I am seeing for the first time intermittent crashing of X5 during an edit phase. It's happening on different source files and vsp project files. Never at the same place in a project file, nor during the same action activity. Occurs during clip mode and project mode.
When it happens, the X5 desktop just 'whites out' - the outline of the program desktop is discernable, but barely. The only way out is to kill the program and re-start. Wait long enough and windows will present that option anyway. If one has saved the vsp file (repeatedly) during edit, restart does not lose much. Otherwise - begin again from scratch.
Corel Draw X6 and they crash the program each time. I've tried this on both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions with the same results.

As soon as the file size exceeds 150 MB, and especially when small rasterfiles (mostly jpg's) are placed inside the document, either embedded or not-embedded, me and my colleague get notifications indicating "Can't show preview"or worse: The operation can't be concluded due to lack of RAM (dutch translation). This being a last warningsign just before CS5 collapses and it thus becomes impossible to make any Save on the document....

When I try and open or place an EPS file I am getting a text import option box... then Illustrator crashes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe last one wasnt so drastic, because it was only 1 file. I rendered the .mxf file as a quicktime in media encoder, and the problem was gone. But now I have another project that must be reworked, and it is a long edit with just .mxf files.
the error is:
After effects error: Error (4) reading frame from file "D:PROJECT DATAunternehmen aus der regionfilmsOptikGeistRawCONTENTSVIDEO0055B.MXF".
The material is from a P2 card. Every time I move the time indicator in a sequence, it hangs for 30 seconds, and I get the error message again.
