Lightroom :: 4.2 - Importing Sony Raws Are Cropped
Sep 6, 2012Perhaps a bug? raw files from sony rx100 all come in cropped in LR 4.2 beta . When I select all and batch "uncrop" them, I get an " internal error " I use 5 mb raws.

Jul 27, 2013I'm running OSX 10.8.4 with LR5.0 and CamRAW 8.1 installed. My LR Catalog is on local Disk but the corresponding images are on a mounted NAS filer. I need to import (copy) a large amount of RAWs, but LR hangs unperiodically durring import. While trying to kill LR (or reboot) my iMac freezes such, that I need to power off!

Jan 21, 2013A friend of mine has been happily using / importing Sony Nex 7 Raw images into Lightroom 4.2 / 4.3 for a long time when suddenly this happens.
Note the grey border all around the image.
This file was imported with: No develop presetNo metadata preset.Process 2012.Various std in the box profiles. Here is a screen paste of the file dimensions (also showing that it is a raw file and not cropped).
All Sony Nex raw files imported to a particular machine (Win 7, 64 bit) demonstrate this behaviour. So, in trying to trace the problem.
The crop tool was checked to make sure there was no crop applied. They grey border is not just a visual border. If you examine the jpg it is actually grey pixels consuming a large percentage of the native 6000x4000 Nex 7 resolution.The Reset button was pressed also,to make sure the raw file conversion was restored to basecamp.History reset.A raw image imported into the same machine / software from a Nikon D300 behaves perfectly.Previously imported Nex 7 Raw images are ok.When the images are imported into two other machines they imports perfectly.Scrapping the preference file makes no difference.Overlay mode was checked, an overlay image loaded and then overlay mode turned off… just to make sure this was NO overlay.Applying a crop and then removing a crop still leaves the grey border.Applying the crop reduces the image dimensions to approx.. 4946 x 3293. Exporting an image to jpg (as shown) leaves image with grey border. This grey border can be cropped out, but it means the resolution will reduce.Exploring various scene modes / in camera crops / resolution settings on the camera does not seem to make any difference.Formatting the card in the camera, take a picture, import directly from card. 3 different cards used. (No change).When using the Catelog on a different machine the grey border remains.
NB Camera set to RAW + jpeg. Jpeg's import without border.
So finally last night…
……. we uninstalled Lightroom 4.3 and re-installed into a different folder. (No change).
Lightroom :: Apply Camera Calibration Profile To Existing RAWs
Feb 1, 2012how to change the default settings in Camera Calibration (ALT changes the Reset to Set Default) and from what I can find, any newly imported RAWs will have these defaults applied. how do I apply these defaults to images already imported?
Also, what I specifically want to change is the Profile: Adobe Standard to Profile:Camera Landscape (for example) and apply that to all the images I already have shot with this specific camera body. So, two questions: Does setting the defaults include the Profile or is it only the "Shadows, Primary Red, Green, Blue" that gets saved as a new default and can these changes only be applied to newly imported RAWs?
Lightroom :: Prompt Disappeared For RAWs Edit Original Or Edit A Copy?
Dec 16, 2013I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
Lightroom :: 4.4 Does Not Support Sony RX 100 II
Mar 15, 2014Some of the main features of Lightroom are reasons for buying it in the first place. Adobe's refusal to support this well known and highly rated camera reveals something about a business model which ignores the needs of their customers. If I buy another camera next year why should I suppose that Adobe will deign to support it?

Dec 26, 2013I am running LR 5.3 and CS6 with the latest updates all installed on a Mac running Maverick (10.9.1). why cropped pictures in LR5 do not upload to CS6? There is no message that it didn't work properly.
In addition, when I undo the cropping in LR, the photo will upload to CS6, however, part of the photo will be destroyed.

Aug 12, 2013I took photos with a DSLR some with a point and shoot, and a lot with my phone camera. DSLR photos are all good quality and when I export I want all of them to keep their original size, point and shoot photos should be reduced in size by about 20~40% depending on the crop I made and zoom when I shot. Phone pics need to be reduced by around 50% or more. One pixel size on export doesn't cut it since all photos are cropped and have various sizes but only some need reduced sizes due to phone camera taking bigger pictures than the quality keeps up with.I need some sort of 'export size for full sized jpeg' or something. (Without exporting each picture individually that is)

Nov 21, 2013LR5 bug. I've found that when I sync a batch of photos more than once, unless I untick the sync crops option, 1px is cropped off the width of all synced photos. The master photo stays at its original size.
My images cannot be anything other than the exact original size. This is a tech issue not a personal one.
Clearly there's a workaround for this, but then you have to remember to untick the crop option. If you don't and you've moved ou of the module and started working elsewhere, it seems that there's no quick undo fix; you just have to go back into each photo and set to the last 'good' history step.

I don't use the printing service of Lightroom, instead I prefer to send the files to my local printing service and then stick them to an album (wedding stuff).

Jun 15, 2013I don't remember it being a problem in LR4, but I have just used the spot tool on an image where there was a crop. The program's choice of source for the spot tool seems to me to be more dramatic than ever before, and in this particular image the source selected was in the area which I had cropped out. To move the source point, I had to open the crop tool to adjust one side of the crop, then move the source, then restore the crop to the image, then reselect the spot tool.
It might well be that in some instances the cropped out area is the best source, but whether it is or not, I think we need to be able to access the cropped detail without resetting the crop itself and preferably without having to then reselect the spot tool.
