I have been using Lightroom 3.6 for a few years.I recently bought a Nikon D5200. I shoot exclusively in RAW. When I tried to import my RAW images, a message says it does not recognize the Nikon D5200. I tried converting my setting to import as DNG and it still doesn't work. Am I going to have to purchase a more recent version of Lightroom?
just bought the Nikon D5200 and i always shot in RAW but have now found after my first shot with the new camera that Lightroom 4.3 wont support Raw Files from this camera
I have CS5 and have downloaded the DNG raw convertor 7.4 but it doesnt convert all the files in a folder and I am in a mess - my new camera Nikon D5200 is not supported in CS5 I was looking to upgrade to CS6 but cant find a genuine product anywhere
I currently have PSE8 which will not read the NEF images from my Nikon D5200. I know that I can use the Adobe DNG Convertor 7.3 to convert them to DNG outside of PSE8 then work with the DNG images in PSE8. if possible, to work directly with the NEF images as a plugin. URL..
Q1 - Based on the above am I therefore correct that it is not currently possible to use Nikon D5200 NEF images directly in any currently available PSE?
Q2 - Whether its likely in the next version of PSE? Or would I have to save up for the full Photoshop program to do what I want?
I am currently using PSE 10 and have just upgraded my camera to a Nikon d5200 from a d5100. I cannot open the raw files for the d5200. Do I need a more up to date PSE or which plug in update I require.
I am trying to edit several RAW images in PSE 11 on my new PC running Windows 8.1.
When I try to open one of the images from my Nikon d5200, I see a pop up that says I need Camera Raw documentation. I assume that this means a download. Looked at the list available & did not find one
I am running Lightroom 3.6, Camera Raw 6.6 on my Apple MacBook Pro mid 2011 with the operating system OSX 10.6.8, I now want to update that to the latest OSX 10.7 Mountain Lion. Will I still be able to use my version of Lightroom on this newer system without any issues?
Thin black branches against a blue sky are always problematic. Problematic for Lightroom, that is. The jpegs straight out of my D5100 totally eliminate all CA and purple fringing, so I know it can be done. It's just that no matter how I play with the "Defringe" sliders I cannot eliminate the bluish case on the branches. I go back and forth between my attempts in LR4.4 to my jpeg of the same scene and the jpeg handles it perfectly.
"Remove Chromatic Aberration" box is checked. Is it maybe a fact of life that Lightroom 4.4 just doesn't handle nefs as well as maybe Canon raws?
My workflow is such that I have to work on a ton of images at one time, so I have a "prest upon import" set up. Then I export as tiffs. So I'd like to keep all the tweaking in Lightroom for efficiency's sake. Very few of my images actually have this "problem" but in a video tutorial on the use of these sliders the commentator mentioned that the submittal of images to a client (magazine, whatever) requires that all CA/defringing to be totally done or you'd look like an amateur. All his video did was get close, just like my attempts just get me closer but nowhere as good as the SOOC jpegs do.
I have a shoot next week that I want to use tethering from my Nikon to LR. Is there a way to get one of the camera profiles and the lens profile to be automatically assigned as I shoot and LR imports?
This will get me close enough for the client to preview.
i have a file that scrambles on import. I can see it fine as a preview and i can open it in Nikon View NX but I cannot import it into Lightroom without it becoming scrambled.
I did a search and couldn't find this issue listed. I convert my Nikon D90 raw files to DNG. Never seem to have a problem with that except that the display(s) seldom shows the results of applying Noise Reduction (Color or Luminance). If my display is at Fit or Fill I don't see the results of what I am doing. If I zoom in to 1:1 or more, then I can see the results. All works fine if I am using a jpg file, it is just the DNG files that do this.
If I want to see the entire picture with Noise Reduction applied I have to switch to the Library Module. Then when I go back to the Develop module the main display goes back to not showing the Noise Reduction, but the secondary display is ok until I apply another effect then boom, back to Noise Reduction not displaying. All of the other changes I make work just fine. It is just the Noise Reduction that causes the problem. This is really a killer when I am working on photos. This problem existsed before 3.6. When I switch to the Library Module it takes a few seconds before the secondary display shows the photo with the Noise Reduction applied.
I have a quad core 2.4ghz with 8gig of ram and Windows 7 Pro 64bit OS. Plenty of CPU and memory available.
