I have been using Indesign CC for a month or two now and for some reason it just started crashing when I try and relink a file in a publication I'm working on. It has worked fine up until this point. I have already tried reinstalling the program and I've even tried dragging/dropping the links instead of relinking through the LINKS box.
View 2 RepliesI created a document in InDesign CS6, and each time I try to export the document to a PDF (of any compression, smallest file size, print quality, etc) InDesign crashes. I have zero errors in my preflight and no extraneous fonts.
I have restarted both my computer and ID and it is not responding differently.

Unfortulatly Indesign keeps crashing when I change the settings in the paragraph styles. eg changing the indents on a list item, or the amount of space before on the body text.

I am on Indesign creative cloud, and Mac Version 10.9.2
I have created dvds using multiple .vsp files. I am now unable to open these projects. It seems like I have to relink the projects .vsp files. I can see that the file size as if the project includes .vsp files but when I go to "share", "create dvd" nothing is there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedVS6 Pro Ultimate..I started a project a week or so ago nothing fancy just some photos overlaid onto a video with a sound track, I saved it as a project, opened it today only to face relinking all the photos some 150 of them! The folder that you place all your photos showed they were not linked so I relinked them, then I opened the project only to find most of the photos were not linked!
1: Is there a batch relinking I can use?
2: What would cause this issue? ( I've never had this before)
3: How do I prevent it happening again?
My PC crashed and has two projects that I had completed a significant amount of work on. The the video files and vsp files are stored on Edrive and music on Ddrive. I had also created some painting creator files and am not sure where they will have been saved? Rather than try to reinstall windows and reformat the C drive I have decided to upgrade to a new PC. I could then remove the 2 slave drives from the old pc and use hard drive housings and a usb connection to link them to the new pc (don't feel confident enough to install them directly into the new one). I am concerned that the drives will then have different names and the vsp file will not recognise the files resulting in days of lost work. I notice that there is a function called relink but am not sure how this works and whether I will be able to use it to recover all of the edits easily.
The new PC will be intel i7 with nvidia gtx 570 graphics card, I have also ordered PROx4 ultimate so would prefer to use this.
The options as I see them are:
1. Reinstall windows and persevere with the old PC assuming that the slave drives are intact.
2. Remove the slave drives and connect through USB then try and rename the drive to the same as before (e and d)
3. Remove the drives and connect through USB, let the new pc allocate a name to them and use the relink function?
I have received a project edited on PPro 7.1.0 with a number of Canon C300 spanned clips. I have PPro 7.2.1. When I relink the clips the spanned clips link incorrectly. In fact all the span clips have incorrect timecode. The original editor on PPro 7.1.0 brought in the span clips as individual clips with sequential timecode. When I import the clips they come in as clips all of the same length but the time code is way off eg a clip that should start at 01:01:31:17 starts at 01:17:18:18. This is really less than satisfactory and the fact that we need to hand this project back and forth is really going to make life very difficult. Adobe and Canon need to sort this span clip thing out.

myFilesHH01000-01999HH01000-HH01099HH001001.PDF
and now I need to change the file structure to this;
myFilesHHHH01000-01999HH01000-HH01099HH001001.PDF
adding the folder HH breaks the links.
What is the best way to identify the broken link and change its path with JSX?
I have a project that was created entirely with still images (almost 200,000) shot with a Canon 5D. I converted the CR2 (RAW) to jpegs and edited the project in Final Cut Pro using those jpegs. I then used Automatic Duck to send the FCP project to After Effects where I used the Batch n Replace script from [URL] to replace the jpegs with the CR2 files for color correction. The problem I'm running into is the script creates a new project where the CR2 files have replaced the jpegs, however everything is offline. The images for each sequence are sorted into folders so I go to the first image in a folder and tell AE to replace it with the proper file. AE thinks for a bit and finds and replaces all of the other images in that folder. Depending on how many images are in a particular folder, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours for AE to finish. It took over 4 hours for AE to relink a project with 10 shots/images sequences containing over 12,000 images.

All of the AE project files are shared via Dropbox with the other Mac Pro in my studio. I opened one of the projects on the other computer and tried to relink to the CR2 files on my RAID over the network but I had to do each image one by one. Is there a way to relink the files over the network the same way as if they were on my own computer?
I made a complex video clip from .avi files with Corel Videostudio Pro X3, I saved the project then moved my original files to different folder. After some time I decided I want to edit my video again and re-linked the files successfully but now when I try to play my project in edit mode it doesn't play smoothly, it stops and delays. I can't edit in such conditions because I can't preview my work... Before moving my files everything was fine. No changes were made to my computer...

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to automatically relink based on file type? I have hundreds of illustrator files that need three images in each changed out for a updated versions. It just so happens that the three all have different file extensions.

It seems that there should be a way to have illustrator replace the one .jpg file with another .jpg file (named differently) that's in the same location as the old file. Is there some type of more powerful scripting interface for illustrator besides the actions? vbscripting or something?

I realize that this isn't a normally supported feature of the links panel. I know that I can open each file and manually relink them as I open them. Hoping to save some time. I have to do this a couple times a year as we get in fresh images that we want to stuff into the same presentation format.

The file names contain timestamps that need to remain there so simply renaming the new files to match the old ones isn't an option either.
cleaned up the fonts and its still crashing by simply scrolling thru to find a file to open and to make matters worse, my CS2 which hardly ever crashed now crashes just opening it. I am rather beside myself, I have an iMac running 10.6.8 with 4GB of memory. I would love to copy and paste the crash report but it's not letting me do that.

The issue can occur when opening the program, opening a file or doing nearly any action when a file is open. No specific file seems to be causing it, sometimes it will run without a problem for an entire day and other it's constantly crashing.

I downloaded the Photoshop CC/LR5 combo a few days ago, and since then the programs have been crashing my PC. (I've attached a screenshot.) This has happened at least 8 times, twice already this morning. Before I upgraded, I was using CS3 and LR4 and never had this issue.

After Effects CC is working great. Photoshop CC, however, keeps on quitting the moment I try do something like apply an effect or resize the image. I'm not get a crash report from the Adobe Crash Reporter so here's the Apple crash report. I'm running 10.8.4 on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro '13 i5.

I open say a blank canvas 20x20 then open a photo I wish to transfer onto it.  On the photo create a background copy and select the move tool, once the photo is on the canvas I then select the resize tool to make the photo small on the work area and then everytime is stops working and say a fault has occured photoshop will now close?
I have been having a lot of crashes lately at seemingly random times. I could be changing the opacity of a layer and it crashes, using puppet warp and it crashes, using free transform, so it doesn't seem to be a particular feature that is crashing it. Every time I use the type tool, the crop tool and HDR merge the app crashes, i'm currently using the trial version and this is not encouraging me to buy the upgrade from CS4 which i'm very happy with and never have these sort of problems.

Photo montage against a video track (default movie reel supplied in VS).
Tried a HD def video single video track about 50 seconds long using output from a Go Pro Hero HD
Tried a video in multiple formats using Main video and combinations of overlays (1 or 2) with video in corners or elsewhere.
Sometimes it works but more often than not it crashes out and creates a dump file.
Details of the files I'm playing with when it comes to video.
They are MP4 files directly out of the go pro - (i'll get additional shortly when i return home).
I am running x3 pro downloaded directly from Corel with a 'check updates patch' installed.
I have directx 11.
I'll supply more info shortly when I'm back in front of the machine.
I tried a search, but anybody else getting unexpected program error, and CS shutting down without the option to save?

Then, I scanning a document. Everything worked fine. Today, I downloaded and ran the Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update, and now Photoshop won't stay running. I ran the app and tried to scan a document. It crashed before the document could scan. I ran the app again, this time naviating to a file, but it crashed before the file opened.
