Other times in can be up to 70 inchs from the artboard requiring us to zoom out to 3% to find the content. The PDF files are being produced from Indesign.

GIMP :: Moving Content Of Layer Like In Photoshop?
Aug 16, 2013I'm trying to learn Gimp so I can use the art I made with it in my games later on but as a formal Photoshop user I feel like that I have a hard learning curve.
I'm trying to move things on my layer without effecting the layer boundaries (just like the way move tool works in Photoshop).
I know that this is possible using selecting the part I want to move on my layer, then holding Ctrl+Alt and dragging with my mouse, then it creates a floating layer what I have to convert to layer in the layers panel.
Photoshop :: CC Lags On Macbook Pro When Moving Layer Content Around?
Nov 11, 2013We just bought new Macbook Pro laptops last Friday and also got Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Illustrator CC. Everything works pretty fine, except moving layer content eg. images or fonts around is a bit behind, slow/laggy, without any apparent reason.
This happens despite external screen connected or not. It also happens with or without power adapter connected. We have brand new Mac OS Mavericks and 16GB RAM so performance should not be a problem.
Some information (translated from Finnish system info):

Sep 18, 2005way to position content in photoshop as you would in say flash by plugging in specific pixel information? say i have a rectangular selection and I want to move it exactly 535 pixels to the right. or move all the layers content 75 pixels to the left.

Aug 14, 2012I'm working on some plumbing in an assembly and in the past I've inserted all the fittings and pipe into a main assembly. Then created a sub-assembly and moved all those parts into that assembly. However I cannot drag and drop the pipe fittings around in the browser window. So I'm unable to move them to a sub-assembly.
I last remember moving content center parts between assemblies in Inventor 2012 and I'm currently running 2013.

Nov 22, 2012I have a big artboard with a simulation of a webpage, and a smaller artboard within it, where I'm designing the artwork, so that I know how the big picture will look. In the end, I intend to export the contents of the small artboard. The problem is that whenever I click by accident on the small artboard, my view of the web page gets off-centre.So in short, If I could just lock the small artboard, that would solve this annoyance. For now, I have two options: either delete the artboard and set it back in the end (it's got to be perfeclty positioned though) or, quite practically, just create a custom view with a shortcut that I can use instead of the "Actual size" one (Cmd+1).

Mar 12, 2008I'm designing some business cards, which have an 1/8" bleed, along with elements that hang outside of the border of the card. Is there a way in Illustrator CS3 that I can say, "hide everything outside of the Artboard" so I can see what the finished product will look like?
I know I could print them out or output to PDF and see it without the non-Artboard items, but these approaches seem clumsy and labor intensive. I'd like it if I could have some sort of "cropped view"--where everything not on the Artboard is hidden--to work in.

Aug 28, 2012I'm finding that when i add a second artboard to an existing ai, then save and close, it has disappeared on reopening.
I have both pieces of artwork (one for each page), but 1 of the artboards will have disappeared. Irritatingly the remaining artboard sits between the 2 pieces of artwork - in the wrong position for both!!!

Bleed areas are set and crop marks, all of which print fine. But I want to export to jpeg just to see how the cropped output will look.

Not that we can't work in scales but life would be so much easier if we could do things in full scale. Now to the point, does CS4 have larger artboard size than CS3?

Feb 17, 2014I am on a pc (windows 8) using illustrator cc and trying to save from an .ai file to an .svg file. I've also taken a previously saved svg and manually fixed the artboard, then saved. Still resizes the artboard. I've done this multiple times with sucess, but after updating the software last week, the artboard is expanding when I save. I thought I must have changed a setting, but don't think so. I've read lots of posts and tried all kinds of settings but here doesn't seem to be a solution out there. Wish I could go back to the older version!

Apr 16, 2013The first time it happened, I uninstalled AI and did a fresh install which fixed it for a short time. When I save a PDF out of AI, it does not save to the artboard constraints. This is a screen shot of my AI document which has 2 pages.
When I save as PDF, this is what the file looks like:

After the original file has been saved (incorrectly) I can open it and save it again and it will be fine.
