GIMP :: Round Corners In Filter / Decor Option?
Sep 17, 2011I don't have "round corners" in my filter/decor option??? What does this mean? Do I have to download a plugin or something?

GIMP :: Decor Filter Has Disappeared From Filters Menu?
May 16, 2013My decor filter has disappeared from the filters menu. Was using it yesterday, no problem. Today, it's just gone. I have uninstalled Gimp and reinstalled it several times and that does not work.
The version I am using is 2.8.4 and I have a PC with Windows 7. I have been using the program for the last two months with no problems and the more I use the more I like it.
Just to add the issue, I installed Gimp 2.8.4 on my wife's computer, and the filter is there.

What I do is find images, paste them into GIMP, scale them down, and round the corners.
I've been playing around with script fu to make it automatically scale the image and round the corners, but I've run into problems with the image variable needing to be changed each time something is pasted.
Is there a way I can automate this, perhaps some code that will set the image variable to whatever the current window is, or am I stuck doing "manual labor"?

May 30, 2011I have been using gimp for a year or so to do simple editing on jpgs, but today i have starting working on easy multi layer images.
I am making a small portfolio. I made the image 8.5"x11". Added a gradient to the background. Added 2 text boxes, aligned them and finally imported an image as a layer. I then resized the image layer so it fits on my page.
All is great except I want to add a simple 2 pixel border with the Script-fu decor>border script. However it seems no matter my active layer the border is applied around the whole 8.5"x11" image. How do I make gimp only put a border around my image layer?

May 13, 2009I use Photoshop 7.0, I use the marquee tool frequently. It always used to have straight corners, but the past week it has started to automatically do round corners. I haven't changed any settings. Why does this happen? I can mention that I use InDesign CS2. I have worked a lot with rectangles with round corners there recently, but every time changed the corners manually. After a couple of weeks though the program started to automatically change every rectangle to round corners. I didn't know how to change this, but after a couple of weeks it went back to straight corners automatically. I use Windows Vista. Initially there was some problems to make it go with Photoshop and InDesign, but now it works fine most of the time.

Objective: Round corners on a 960 px x 250 px photo for a website. Radius 35 px. Photo already sized the way I need it. Background needs to be transparent saved in png 24 so nothing shows except the photo with rounded corners.

Step one: I insert image into Photoshop

Step two: Use rounded rectangle tool:

Step 3: Move photo layer to the top of my rounded rectangle layer
Step 4: Clip Alt+Enter line between the layers: I get nothing but the transparency.

Step 5: Merge Visible. Still Nothing.

Nov 30, 2005I'm working on a lj mood theme and I learned how to create round corners - basically I create a new tranparent image, go to modify - > smooth (5px) and then paste the original image. It works fine!, until I try to add a border using the stroke tool - the corners don't get the border, as you can seehere. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, if it's a setting or what. I've tried several blending modes, all locations (inside, center, outside), preserve transparency, nothing works. Of course, I'm completely challenged when it comes to photoshop, so I could really use your help on this one.
