So, I'm trying to make moods for forums like this: and I don't know how to make my text move vertically or horizontally. The person who made this uses Gimp as well, so I know there is a way.
View 1 Repliesi am looking for a command that will let me take a scan of something and say "make vertical" and have PS prompt me for two pickpoints with the second pickpoint being directly above (i.e. vertical) the other. alternatively i would like to have a way to "make horizontal" and pick two points that i want oriented in a horizontal line to each other.
right now the way i do this is to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise by 90 degrees, then rotate by some arbitrary amount like 3 degrees, and then to do a series of 0.25 degree rotations - as i check by running a rectangular border top to bottom (or right to left) against something in the image until it is almost correctly oriented.
Is there any way to make a vertical or horizontal section plane of 3d solid leaving the rest of it like a solid?
Often I need to do pretty much complex view in which the same solid should be sectioned for half part of it and be solid for the rest. It is a common way to present solid draw but I can't do it with autocad 2013.
I'm pretty new and have a simple problem that for some reason I can't figure it out! And that is how to make a series of lines on the image that are all perfectly horizontal or perfectly verticle. This will be part of a chart and the lines will be dividers. So the chart will have basically 21 rectangles with 3 rectangles across and 7 rectangles down.
So, I KNOW how to use the straight line tool to make the vertical and horizontal lines but I don't know how to keep the lines perfectly vertical and horizontal and parallel with each other!

What should I do to “Layer 1” (the single image) to get-rid of those Horizontal and Vertical lines from pattern? While repeating as the Background Image into the HTML page, those Horizontal and Vertical lines does not look nice.

In the .ai file the text is all horizontal. When I export it however the text turns vertical. I am looking at the file in Autodesk Truview 2014. Just wondering if this is a bug or there is some way to avoid this. I am also using Adobe CS2.

I'm trying to do a quick project for work and I can't seem to get vertical text to work how I want it to in Gimp 2.8. Gimp 2.6 did vertical text by just typing what you wanted and rotating the layer. With that same process in 2.8, the text rotates, but the layer doesn't. Which means the rotated text gets cut off. Furthermore, when I try to change the size of the layer, Gimp decides it has to undo the rotation first. It's beyond frustrating at this point. Especially because this is such a basic thing to do.

My first question is actually about something I am failing to do with Photoshop CS4. I create a text, rasterize it, then create the stripes via the rectangle tool (in this case I am messing with different national colors, like Germany). Now so far so god, but I never get around to actually be able to merge the strips with the text. I need to rotate a snipped of text approximately 23% forward from horizontal.
I'm using 2.6.11. this is what I'm doing:
Open a new file. Select the text tool and type in text (I've tried this both on a new layer and on the background layer). Click on the rotate tool and click on the text.
Inevitably, the gunsight appears in the center of the whole page, though the textbox is selected, and when I rotate it the text stays stationary and the rest of the page rotates.
In CS6 when I crop, the crop would automatically be vertical on a vertical pic, and horizontal on a horizontal pic. The new CS7 (Photoshop CC) doesn't do that.

Especially noticeable if I modify a font, enlarge it, stretch or skew. I do set the outline to scale with image and also don't outline until I am finished with the modifications.
