I created a text logo for my site. When I save the text it saves a white background too. Now I cant put that on my site with the background being there.I just want the text not the background.
View 3 RepliesI have a photo open on CS4, that I want to remove the sky and replace it with another. Since the photo has lots of "gridwork" in it (it's the Eiffel Tower in Vegas) I used Mask pro to remove the blue sky. When I save it back to CS4, is there a way to easily select the blank background so that I can insert the new sky? I can make a Quick Selection of the majority of the sky but again, it's the sky, or in this case now, the blank background peeking through all the grid work that is the problem getting selected.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been experimenting with removing backgrounds. I can see it is easy to work with solid block objects like buildings and vehicles and stuff like that.
I want to use it with people when their hair is wind swept. So far it isn't working within the flying hair very well and if there is a small spot that needs the background to come through it doesn't work well and also takes out the main foreground as well.
I've been designing a logo to submit to a printhouse for screening on to some tshirts so I would like to save my logo without the accompanying background. The image needs to be a JPEG. I have managed to setup the PSD so there is no background only the grey squares but every time I try to save the image as a JPEG it adds a white background and my image becomes sqauare.

But when I go to export it and save it as a png file it puts the white background back in with the saved file. I have used Gimp many times in the past, sometimes for fairly complicated photo retouch but mostly for more routine things like red eye removal, cropping, exposure control, etc. I downloaded a new version of Gimp when I replaced my computer some time ago. I followed the Gimp tutorial for red eye removal and it worked but the lines created when I used the free selection tool are remaining after I click OK to finalize the operation. Am I missing a click somewhere to turn of the selection lines?

it has a background on it and on top of it it has my text...i am wanting to keep the text also, but my main concern is to use just the background for my website....how is extracting the back ground away from the text possible in GIMP and also saving the text as well.
I am trying to create a form with a watermark image in Publisher 2013 and the text I want to overlay on the watermark is cut from an image I screenshot, so it has a white background, making overlaying a watermark impossible. There are boxes and bubbles and other items that I really do not want to re-create so that's why I am trying to do this first, before re-creating the entire forms from scratch.
Anyway, what I want to do is A. remove all of the white from the background (even in the spaces between the e's an B's and everything; yes I know it is insane, but I like things to be perfect) and B. I would like to darken the text. Currently is is almost gray-ish and I want it to be black.
Basically, I'm trying to extract the text from the attachment showing below so that I can transfer it somewhere else. I seem to be getting stuck on the "Path from Text" part, I'm using it, but nothing happens. Do I need to be using the tool for all of the letters individually? but I've spent ages trying to sort this out.....Driving me bonkers. I'm using GIMP 2.8 BTW.

In Photoshop, I would probably just create a new image of the length of the strip and then fill with the color I need and then copy and paste onto the image .

I am now having trouble with the red eye removal tool. Everything works fine except that the lines around the pupil that I selected using the free selection tool remain and scroll around the pupil after I am done.
How do I turn off the free selection tool so that the selection lines will go away. I'm following every step in the tutorial but somehow there must be another step to deactivate to selection lines. Is there an extra click somewhere or something?

lower layer: text on white background with a freeform line around the text (this page I created in iStudio, with the text block irregular on both right and left, the black line curving around the text)
All I want to do, before I add the next layer, is highlight that line and make it a little bit lighter (in blackness).
I can see various ways to select the line and its curvature, but I don't know how to lighten the color of the selected line.

Then I want to turn it into a powerpoint template with the first page the full picture but my own text and subsequent pages just a sliver of the picture at the side, with the normal ppt format and capabilities. View 1 Replies View RelatedI did put a real photo in the background of my website to fit entire page. So the text of my webpage is black, and sometimes other colors. So what happen is that some times the text is hard to read when it come on top of dark places of the photo (for example hear of people). So i want to adapt the photo to make it more unicolor, more whiten (increase whiteness) so the black text will appear even better.
What tools and filters in gimp that give me this ability to do that ?

I was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
Remove the text and the white background and fill it with its respective background ?
