View 9 RepliesI work in full screen with Menu Bars 98% of the time. I also enjoy the new save in background feature. The problem is that when in full screen I can't tell when it's saving and the status of the save. This is particularly frustrating when I'm trying to close a file. I think there needs to be an option to have it save in background but pop up a status window, or some way to see the status of the save while in full screen.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a photo open on CS4, that I want to remove the sky and replace it with another. Since the photo has lots of "gridwork" in it (it's the Eiffel Tower in Vegas) I used Mask pro to remove the blue sky. When I save it back to CS4, is there a way to easily select the blank background so that I can insert the new sky? I can make a Quick Selection of the majority of the sky but again, it's the sky, or in this case now, the blank background peeking through all the grid work that is the problem getting selected.

The image needs to be a JPEG. I have managed to setup the PSD so there is no background only the grey squares but every time I try to save the image as a JPEG it adds a white background and my image becomes sqauare.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been experimenting with removing backgrounds. I can see it is easy to work with solid block objects like buildings and vehicles and stuff like that.
I want to use it with people when their hair is wind swept. So far it isn't working within the flying hair very well and if there is a small spot that needs the background to come through it doesn't work well and also takes out the main foreground as well.
I created a text logo for my site. When I save the text it saves a white background too. Now I cant put that on my site with the background being there.I just want the text not the background.

But when I go to export it and save it as a png file it puts the white background back in with the saved file. On CS5, how can you recover JPEG images that were accidentally Batch Renamed prior to removal from a flash card? Is it a total lose or can they be saved somehow?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was shooting some timelapses recently and created thousands of images. I needed to "heal" one dust particle from all of those which I did by using "spot removal" tool but unfortunately it doesn't work well on all images. Now I am stuck with a problem where I have over 7K pics which has that tool applied but I can't remove it from the whole batch in one go.
I've tried syncing with an image that has no "spot removal" tool applied but it didn't work. I coppied settings and pasted them but it only works for one image. I had them all selected and just hit restart on a tool but again it only does that for currently visible pic. I really don't know how to deal with this and I don't want to do it manually with all of them. It's worth mentioning that I could reset all of the settings but I already applied many adjustements to many images so only spot tool is what I want to get rid off.

I produce a 176 page catalog for my employer. There are approximately 1800 iamges in this catalog. The images were produced by a multitude of photographers. The problem is that the backgrounds are all different and I would like to standardize them. I would like a blue PMS286 background for a particular section in the catalog and have managed to cut and place these images onto the blue background. I have added drop shadows and cast shadows to make the images look more realistic. They look okay but my trouble is with the backgrounds themselves. They still look like an artificial, non-photographic studio background. How can I make the backgrounds look more realistic as if these images were actually photographed with the new background?

Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing. My catalog has over 300 images of jewelery and jackets with fur fitted on manequins due in two weeks, all shot on a blue studio background. Do I require alpha channel masking?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to tile a single small background image (one small photo repeated to fill the desktop) in Photoshop 5.5 and Windows XP for use as a mail background in Outlook Express. Is it possible to do this without Image Ready?
I have tried numerous things but cannot seem to do it. I am a complete novice with little knowledge of filters and layers.
The two links below use backgrounds ( that im sure are created with PS) that kind of have marks and scratches accross them. Im pretty sure its parchment paper os something like that. The 247media one ( when you click on one of the pull down pages) almost looks like an old scratched plastic chopping board.
My question is whats the most effective strategy for altering source images to create an effect like this. The images in the web pages have been manipulated so it lokks as if they're not there but thier marks and scratches show through. Ive been playing alot in adjustments and blending modes but rather blindly.
I am trying to import a photoshop image into a powerpoint presentation but it looks like a box with the image inside the box. The box is the color of the background in the image file. I would like to know what I would do to import the file so only the image in the file is seen with the background color eliminated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is my problem. I have this nice image. It has a soild background color of grey. (GRB is 100) But when I save it as a GIF it doesn't honor the color and changes it. Not by alot, but enough to notice it if its on a page that has GRB set to 100 also. I have tried all of the export settings for GIF.
My question is the only way to get the color to be constint do I have to use JPG? JPG images are like 5x bigger.

I am trying to remove background from images using the 3 different selection tools. I start off fine, but ultimately the entire images keeps getting grabbed which ever tool I am using. It is easier if you are using a pro version of photoshop and not any of the elements versions? I have elements 11.

I was sent a .psd-file (actually 3) which were created in Photoshop CS3 but I can not open any of them, because PS tell me
"Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."
Also, I was sent a lot of .psd-files during the last years and I have most of them in my email-account. Unfortunately, I can't even open any of them either!! And these were .psd-files PRE CS3 and worked just fine in CS2 ...
I tried everything:
- Drag & Drop from Windows Explorer into Photoshop
- "Open as"
>> Nothing seems to work...
