I'm trying to add text to a button. No matter what text color I use it comes out a kind of brown. Tried it on BMP, JPG, & GIF with several different text colors. Always same result.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to do text to path and I finally got it to work, but it is not bringing the text color that I assigned. Instead the text becomes a black outline of the real text. I uploaded this to the application I wanted to use it in, and the text was gone.

I can do the first word in one layer and open up a second layer for the next few words, but as soon as I start typing the second word, the first one becomes the color of the second word.
I would like to take some text and modify the color of it toward the bottom of the text. This is to only change text color- not background. I've found several docs including here saying

I have attached my template drawing and a plotted pdf file of my template.
My question is the logos in the title block are hand drawn dwg logos. My client does not like the pdf file because the ITC logo text changes color and looks grainy or washed out. It is not crisp and clean. This is VERY IMPORTANT to him. Why do they change so as in the colors of the ITC logo change to a light blue not the 178 I set it at in AutoCad. when I plot a pdf the file. When plotting I use the DWG to PDF option.
I am trying to produce a new logo for our business that has a solid Blue cloud image on a transparent background. I need to add text over this but ideally it will show as white over the cloud background but blue when its over the transparent background.
Cant simply change the color of text as its a curved edge its going over. I assume I will need to do some form of punch out but not sure how to start this.

I have created my own graphics from scratch with GIMP, but the resolution to this issue is eluding me.
I imported a GIF map and want to add red labels. I have no problem adding the labels, but I cannot seem to get the text colored red. Before I create the text layer, the text tool shows the color is red, but it still creates it black. All of the suggestions I've seen (yes, I've read the fine manual) reference the same things, including dragging the color from the foreground color (which I've also changed to red). Nothing I've tried seems to work. I've even saved the image as an XCF, but I have the same problem.
I have the fill color turned on in my dimension style to background. I want to adjust the "masking" box size. Just as you are able to in the text edit-background mask. I believe the default must be 1.25 larger than the text. I would like it to be 1.00. Is this possible? You can adjust the text background mask size, but not the dimension mask size.

I am new to GIMP. I have a pdf with a neat picture and want to eliminate some text, essentially painting over it in the same color of the rest of the red background. Then I want to turn it into a powerpoint template with the first page the full picture but my own text and subsequent pages just a sliver of the picture at the side, with the normal ppt format and capabilities. Both here and to Gimp. Tested it a bit on and off, but the breakthrough for me was the single window mode, so now I am currently making an effort to learn something.
My first question is actually about something I am failing to do with Photoshop CS4. I create a text, rasterize it, then create the stripes via the rectangle tool (in this case I am messing with different national colors, like Germany). Now so far so god, but I never get around to actually be able to merge the strips with the text. The closest I have gotten is to see the text behind the stripes, but then the strips also covers the space between the text. I followed this tutorial for that: [URL]......
I looked at Your Sweet Candy tutorial and, excluding some steps, seems to be relevant, but for step 15, where I do not want to select stripes available inGimp, but create new ones.
I have few text labels and lines in a drawing that supposed to have black color.
However, color at some point changed to grey.
Color- by layer, transparency- by layer, viewstyle- 2D Wireframe...
The thing is if I double click on a text it turns to black but after regenall it turns to grey again!
Already did restart and everything. Looks like there is maybe some variable for color control, I don't know.
I did put a real photo in the background of my website to fit entire page. So the text of my webpage is black, and sometimes other colors. So what happen is that some times the text is hard to read when it come on top of dark places of the photo (for example hear of people). So i want to adapt the photo to make it more unicolor, more whiten (increase whiteness) so the black text will appear even better.
What tools and filters in gimp that give me this ability to do that ?
When I copy some text in Illustrator, say red text, and my color well is set to pink, the newly pasted text is now pink?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to change the color of a layer in a viewport (different than the default layer color (i.e. model layer color)). Objects are set to bylayer. Changing the VP color in the layer dialog brings up the color dialog, select a different color, click OK and the VP Color DOESN"T change in the layer dialog. It stays at its previous color. Occurs on several machines.

I'm attempting to tilt this image for use in a game im writing. I've been using Map Object and rotation (Y) but this then causes pixel color changes on the boundary with the background color. How would I tilt this picture without getting the problem?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi switched gimp 2.6 to 2.8 and new text tool behaves strangely, as i remember in gimp 2.6 when i try to change text content with selecting old text and pasting new text i could use same text size and same font with my old text without doing anything but now in the gim 2.8 whenever i try to change content of a text layer i need to choose again font and text size from toolbox options, but why do i have to do this, i have a text placed on my image with a certain font and certain font size and i just want to alter my text conten not the size of text or font , it changes automatically to back text size and font whatever i used last time in another work.
summary: i want to change my text content without setting my font and font size properties, i want to use my text layers old properties
How I choose a color for any new objects I want to create. I've opened the toolbox with ctrl-b, which appears on the left side of the window. If I want to , for example, draw a red rectangle, I use the rectangular selection tool, then the bucket fill, and I don't see how to change the foreground color to red.
I've read elsewhere in the forum that there should be two rectangles somewhere on the screen that show foreground and background color, but I don't see them anywhere.

Ususally I just make my own textures, but I wanted to edit an existing texture this time. The texture is for armor called Red Dragon Armor, it has red scales on it.
I want to replace these red scales (without taking away the details such as the streaking and the scratches) with gold. I tried using "Color select" then "colorify" but it didn't come out quite right.
What is the usual method for changing the color of a section of an image if there are details and you don't want to use the "bucket fill" option?
I have a dark gray triangle alongside a pure white triangle in a square GIF image. I want to convert the white triangle to alpha and leave the dark gray triangle completely opaque. When I use Color --> Color to Alpha, however, I see the checkerboard pattern extend over the gray in addition to the white.
1. Does this mean that the gray is being made translucent?
2. If so, how do I set only one the white to alpha (at 0% opacity) and leave the gray at 100% opacity?
