Photoshop :: Curving Graphics (similar To Text Along Path)

Sep 29, 2003

I am trying to make a CD cover graphic in photoshop.

I have a logo that has been flattened, and it is a standard rectangular shape. It would flow with the shape of the CD much better if I were able to apply a curve to it, similar to using the text tool along a curved path.

I have used the Transform tool which only allows changes in angles. I have also tried multiple filters...

Filter --> Distort --> Pinch

Filter --> Distort --> Polar Coord

Filter --> Distort --> Spherize

and none of these give me the desired FX. They only massacre the image.

Without redrawing the logo from scratch, is there any way to bend the graphic along this curve?

Paint.NET :: Fast-painting Using Undo Stack And Saving Undo History

Aug 19, 2012

I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..

So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.

AutoCAD .NET :: How Undo Marks Are Added To Undo Stack

Oct 20, 2011

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack.In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location.If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.

If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that  a  StartTransaction / Commit  pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.

Tested on AutoCAD 2010  VS 2008

  Sub testmult()
        Dim i As Integer
        For i = 1 To 10

Illustrator :: Curving A Group Of Objects?

Jul 16, 2012

In my image, the top rectangle has been curved to its finished shape (bottom). I did this before, with actually several objects together. They all curve with the rectangle.

I tried to do this again, using all kinds of Transform tools (shear) and Effect tools, and everything I could find, but nothing worked. I thought maybe Shear might work if I could pin down the middle of the rectangle and shear both sides of the rectangle upward, but this doesn't work. I think I'll start taking notes when I find something that works !

How do I do this simple curving of single object or group of objects?

Photoshop :: CS2 - Curving Brushed Straight Line?

Jul 26, 2012

I am still using CS2, and I am having to break up my desired curved lines by repeatedly using the SHIFT key while clicking the next point along my desired curved line. I would like to know if there is a plug-in that would let me pick the starting point as normal, hold down the shift key while I move the mouse to the ending point, and then,after I click and get the straight line with the brush of my choice, I need a way to BEND that line in the pristine shape of a circular or elliptical arc. I need some way to indicate how much arc angle is needed (from a teeny bit to a semicircle), and also how much to skew it towards either of the end points.

The way I am doing this now is

a) create a new layer and draw the straight line, then, delete everything else on this layer but the line, then show the main layer and edit the 2nd layer with warp, and then, finally, use warp to bend and skew the straight line - after all that, I flatten the image back to one layer. The problem with this method is that warp doesn't hold the edges of my formerly straight line (with crisp edges) true, but introduces indentations and juttings which I then have to go and "fix up" by hand.

b) copy the image to MSPaint, and use the bezier cure to draw the curved line I want, and then, copy it back into CS2.

If there is a way to bend my straight lines drawn with my selected brush, and it would keep the edges crisp and smooth, then I sure would like to learn how. The problem with using "paths" and stroking the path is that I cannot see how it will look while drawing the path and, even after I stroke it, that ugly path line with its anchor and control points muddles the picture and I wind up having to delete it and go back. I need to be able to see the FINAL result of bending my curved line while I am adjusting it with no artifacts to interfere with my close examination of the result.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Curving A Part On Two Axis?

Nov 12, 2013

I would like to create a curved surface from a flat part. I have designed the 3d part on the XY plane and would like to have it curved as if placed on a sphere.

I have attached a picture of what I want to achieve. The part is curved in both the X-axis and Y-axis. Unfortunately I cannot attach the part file due to proprietary rights.

At first I used the Bend Part feature and created a bend on both sides on one axis.This was done by sketching a line in the center of the part, which is symmetric in the x-axis and using Bend->Sides. Then I sketched another line which is symmetric in the y-axis and this intersects with the first line used for bending. I have found that I cannot create a second bend using this new line.

Paint.NET :: Curving Selected Region (Rectangle)?

Feb 2, 2011

I'm looking for a way to select a rectangular region, then pull it from one of the center bar points to create a rectangle with a curve.Why?

Our company has a nice graphic that it paid for, and I've got a high resolution version of it. I want to create a graphic of some of our products, and instead of having the boring looking "stamp styled logo" at the top or bottom of my graphic, I'd like to add it in as a new layer, then bend it around the image.

GIMP :: Color Adjustment - Curving Certain Colors?

Nov 9, 2011

I draw images by hand and then scan them and digitally color them.

The white of the page is not a solid white, but full of variance.Also, there are many tiny specs of dust and things that show up as grey specs on the image.

Prepping a black-and-white line drawing is easy; I just use color curves to set the mostly-white areas to pure white, doing the same with black, and tweaking the curve how I want to make my black lines sharper or smoother and cutting out those grey specs.

But I've been trying to work out how to add a second level of detail in these drawings. This comes in the form of a light blue. This light blue can be used for so many great things, like points to line up an image that was drawn on multiple sheets or to represent lines that will becomes shadows or highlights that I don't want to show up in the final image.

Previously I had been scanning my pages as greyscale images to completely wipe out extra color variations that I didn't want. If I do that with the blue lines they turn grey and they get eroded when I adjust the color curves. If I scan it as full color I now have subtle color variants that throw things off, and adjusting the color curves still erodes those blue lines even worse.

If I try adjusting the color curves by color channel I turn the whole image to a particular tint.

How can I adjust the colors of an image to turn anything mostly white into white, mostly black into black, and mostly light blue into light blue; and preferably be able to adjust the scale it does this by so that I might prevent dust from becoming black spots and even maintain the greyscale range at the very edges of my lines?
