I'm designing an ad for a magazine that must be submitted in a mac compatible pdf. Is this possible with CorelDraw? I know how to publish to pdf but is the resultant file mac compatible? It's my understanding that PDFs are compatible across platforms. Correct? I saw "mac compatible" on the specs and panicked.
After editing 100+ images in bridge I save the files as DNG for the magazines I work for, it's only just come to my attention that for them to alter the exposure/contrast they must convert the image to 5.5 which means losing the adjustments I've already made. It's time wasting for both of us.
I tried using the different options under 'compatibility' of saving for camera raw 2.4 and later (4.1, 4.6, 5.4, 6.6) not sure how to use the custom area. I'd consider using the previous version just on these jobs but I'm not even sure how to do that.
I'm using Cad and i'm trying to get a floorplan drawing into Lightscape 2007. The CAD drawing appears fine when loaded into Lightscape 2012, but because of the project we have to use Lightscape 2007. Unfortunately only parts of the floorplan appear when loaded into Lightscape 2007, I've played around with layers, I've saved it as the earliest version of CAD that I can and nothing works. how to load a CAD drawing into Lightscape 2007?

I'm looking into Adobe Edge as a potential new tool for creating web-banners for advertising. I'm more of a designer than a coder, but i have some experience coding in Action Script (flash).
The challenge for me is generating a project that complies with the strict advertising standards found here: [URL]
I have listed the points that worry me the most here:
The HTML-file should just be one file with all CSS required for the ad inline in the HTML. Animation prior to a user interaction must be written using CSS3 Transitions, Transforms and/or Animation [URL]
The first example is just the raw export of a project with a few simple (and quite ugly) animations. I'm assuming that this is incompatible with the demands listed above. [URL]
In the next example I've created a project where I've put a "stop" action on the first frame and an "onClick" > "sym.play("rotate");" action on the image. "rotate" is a refferance to a frame label later in the same timeline (Click the image to start the (even more ugly) animation created in the Edge timeline). Then i wrote some CSS-animations directly in the auto-generated HTML-file. Will this be enough to get me around the requirement of "no javascript animations prior to user interaction"? [URL]
The thing is that i would prefer a workflow where i can do as much as possible within Edge Animate, but if the second example above is in compliance with the requirements, then that's not so bad. Guess i can learn some CSS.
Some thoughts/questions: Is it possible that Edge outputs some CSS animations embedded in .js files, and would the people/systems where the advertising is hosted recognise the animations as one type or the other? If so: Can you restrict Edge Animate to use only css animations or is there a way to know what is "safe" (CSS) to use before user interaction and what is not (JavaScript)?
I've started working with Corel Draw GS X4 quite recently. Now I've been asked by friends of mine to design the birth-card of their child who will be born in about two months. For this reason I would like to make a template for such a card. The card must be folded, 130 mm x 130 mm. I need to use all four sides of the cards and I would like all sides (so the whole card) in one document.
I was interested in purchasing Adobe illustrator CS6. I've read around and it seems that some people have issues with Adobe Illustrator CS6 on Mountain Lion.
I have a CS6 file (created and last saved by IDD CS6), but my InDesign has been updated to CS8, and when I try to open the CS6 file, I'm told it was last saved as CS9--which I don't have yet--and it can't be opened. How could the file have converted to a version of ID that I do not have? The properties information for the file specifies that it is CS6.
I am looking for information on how to make a "realistic" starburst so that I can place it behind my red light bulb lens to make it look it is REALLY bright with light rays spraying out to the sides...
I have attached a .png file of the image I am tyring to apply the starburst to... I don't know where to start.....
I'm more of a "recreational" user of coreldraw, so there is plenty that I don't know!...
I'm hoping that this is an easy question for many...
Plain and simple... How do you make lines "scalable?"
I have created a project, but when all the elements are combined, and I try to scale the size up or down, the lines don't scale (I hope this makes sense)...
I'm hoping that there is an easy way other than continuing to change the line thickness every time I vary the size of the image.
I am looking to have my .cdr files viewable by my Road sales men. I want to make a .jpg listing of all my .cdr files with multipage .cdrs have filename-2, etc.
Would like to keep the same folder structure that my .cdrs are in but under /jpg/
What can I do other than manually re-save all these files? What kind of Batch export with sub-folders is possible? I have tried the file convert, but it fails after 4 files.
In Coreldraw X6 just say you draw a box , now you can fill that box with any color or gradient but how can you make an outline more than 1 color? Is this possible with Coreldraw? is there maybe a macro or something that can be used.
is this possible to make it default for the all the documents of coreldraw something like gray tone despite of white. option existed in the options command but i have to go and has to choose the color. Its not like that, at once by default that white color is changed to the gray tint.
how to make beautiful floral designs. Whenever i try to design it takes hours to design it even when i am tracing from old ones. Especially these spiral designs. what are the calculations for designing these beautiful floral designs quickly?
I have CorelDraw X5, and it makes back up of what ever I'm doing but it saves them in the same folder as I have my regular files. Is there a way I can tell Corel either not to make back ups or put them some place else? I've looked around and can't find anything.
I used PS and an Epson 1650 scanner for many years. Bought a new Win 7 64 bit computer recently and installed CS 6 Extended . Now, when I try to import from the scanner I get the error msg: "No WIA compatible devices were detected."
I was wondering if CS6 Design and Web Premium Windows download version is compatible with a Mac? I'm currently running Lion, But will be upgrading Mountain Lion shortly.
I was told by customer service that I CAN use it on my mac. But then if that is true, I am unsure of what the point of having a Mac/PC option is?
