We are having an issue with Corel filling up the hard drives on machines because of the number of temp files being created in c:users<userid>appdatalocal emp - Is there a way to prevent Corel from creating so many temp files or to get Corel to clean up the files when it closes? There are over 12 GB of temp files being created per day for some users.

View 3 Replies View RelatedPrimarily I am using Corel for basic typesetting and simple graphics for sign making. My problem is that when I save the drawing something simple saves as a massive file. Many of my clients don't have space in their in-boxes for large files and large files are also slow to trasmit over the internt. I find that I have to import the jpg or pdf file into Illustrator and re-save the file whereas it becomes a normal size. A file this morning ( a rectangle with some text inside) was 7.4mb when I saved it as a pdf. Opening in Illustrator and re-saving using the same file name the file size became a managable 110kb????

I am trying to generate some graphics for my I-phone App. Most of the images can be SVG files which works out great but some of what I need has to be PNG format. So, I need a graphic that is about 50px square and has to be a PNG file.
I have attached a CDR that is a resolution of 10000dpi but when I export to PNG and make it 50px wide it looks like ca-ca :). The problem is in my App i will need to zoom in on the 50px wide image. How can I create small PNG files that I can zoom in on and still look crisp?
I am trying to put together a document with about 20 illustrated pages which are created by others in pdf format, They are all A6 size.I wanted to know if Coreldraw x5 can do this (as I have a copy of this) and how - I may need to make some changes to these pdfs, but would be minor editing only (hopefully).
I know this is possible in Indesign - but wanted to do it in Coreldraw as this is the package i have.
I've a problem to open an old X4-Coreldraw file. The first time I can open it - when I want to save this file CDraw says that the file will be changed to the X6 Version. I say OK and save the file. The 2nd time I'll try to open the X6 file again then the Error occurs! I changed my settings in CDraw to a local dir c: emp, also to a new drive - but nothing happens! All the drives have mor than 400 GB free space! I hope this will be enough.

I have deleted most old files from the "temp" folder thinking it may be full but the save function is still not working. Sometimes drawings do get saved but only at random intervals and definitely not every 10 minutes.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have my automatic save turned on and set to 10 mins. I can visual see Civil automatically saving (as I have to wait a few seconds for the process) but it is not creating the temporary files.
I used to work fine, and I can see the last file that was created - a couple of weeks ago, but now it has just decided to stop creating these temporary files.It really makes this option useless if there is no temp file to get my lost information from when I crash.

Graphics card with 1G onboard memory. I have the latest updates to CorelDrawx6 installed (x6.1 and x6.2).
I am now having trouble with fonts in all of my cdr files. Many of the fonts will default to size .001 and cannot make them stay at any other size. When I scale them manually, I can see them flash on the screen at the proper size, but when I "let go" of them they reduce back down to the invisible size.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create and name my own colors. To start with, I put the default RGB palette into "show color names" mode, and I then intend to add to the palette colors which I have named for my own purposes, and then delete the colors I dont need.
I have put the palette so it floats, which is more convenient for me, and I want to extend the palette down so that I can see most of the color names immediately, for example this is easy to do in CorelPainter.
I find that I cant extend the floating palette window beyond the default size, even though, when I select the window, arrows appear at the edges and corners of the palette, as if it is possible to move them. I find that the whole desktop turns grey, and a sort of secondary palette window appears momentarily and flutters on and off.
I was creating a new brush stroke when I tried to save it Corel stopped working it is happening quite often.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was comparing a few drafting and was curious if CorelDraw X6 had the ability to create contour plots using 3-dimensional spatial data (e.g., topographic surveys). Basically, what I was looking to do was import a table (say from excel) with a number of data points which each have three coordinate locations (X, Y, Z). I would be looking for the program to take these data points and be able to draw lines or shading between them in essentially what would be a topographic map (contour map). In the past, I have used another program called Surfer to create the contour maps, and have then had to import the exported image to an older version of CorelDraw.

I need to create a smooth border line the same shape of the inside of this cutting die which I have scanned......slightly small than the inside (White Part) How do I achieve this? I have tried power trace then created a boundary to make the shape but the line is uneven.
why (sometimes) when I export text or graphics as .eps files to my cutter it cuts the same outline up to four to five times and ends up cutting right through the backing paper. I have been using postcut with various corel editions since 1997 with no problems until recently. It also cuts random lines through lines of text which is such an expensive pain in the ass.
I started to use the production manager in flexi sign to cut my designs and same thing happens, except for the random lines but it will make up to five cuts on some objects. All text and graphics are exported the same. Has something in corel newer versions changed in relation to this?

how to create an image to make it look like its in motion? I am trying to create an image of an arm at 45 degrees that rotates another 45 degrees that shows motion (I know the attached file is not very useful but it is the same style of motion on the butterfly's wings that I am after).
Usually the starting image is a very faint colour and the last should be solid colour but is there a way to blur/blend the colours in between to show where the image originally was and where it is now?
