I use LT in a very basic fashion to produce marked up maps (I download mapping data for each project from the british ordnance survey). i have just been asked if it is possible to insert points taken on a gps system. The gps system hasn't been bought yet, but could you tell me if this is possible and if so what gps system works best and what i do with the data from start to finish?
I am creating a large base map and the county is supplying me with a bunch of jpeg files to use. Each map seems to come with 5 different files..how to put these images in correctly using AutoCAD 2010.
Whenever I make a new style in a 2012 AutoCAD file for a Detail Callout, I can create the callout bubble but the text entered for sheet numbers goes to another layer. I've searched the web for a solution to this, but I cannot find one. Everything is set to "By Layer" in the callout, so I'm not sure why the text is going to another layer. The linework aside from the text all appears on my current layer.
Is it possible to put links into AutoCAD drawings?
For instance could I set up an icon / text that if clicked on opens another drawing, pdf, word document, excel document or other.
example: if I have a note in the drawing saying "see drawing A123_456_789 for details of power cable" could I put a link next to it that took you straight to the drawing?
If it can be done is it possible to save the drawing in a format that somebody without AutoCAD could view drawing and use the links.
I am new to the ribbon and am having trouble putting more than one button on the same ribbon. I have two addins that both have buttons that need to go on the drawing>Place View tab but I can only see one button. If I put them on different tabs they both appear, what is my problem?
What I have is a sketch of a hole. The hole has a flattened side to prevent the part from rotating. What I want to be able to do is to put this "part" (an ipt file with just the sketch in it) on any surface of any case, top, left, right, bottom, or even the front or back. So it needs to rotate 90 degrees in x, y or z or combination thereof.
I've been told several things by the local assistants, such as "copy it, place it on the desired plane in the .ipt file, delete the original sketch, then insert it into the assembly", which doesn't work, or use the Component>Rotate command, which gives me infinite degrees of freedom, making it hard to tell when I've rotated 90 degrees in the correct axis.
The sketch will be used in a number of assemblies, including machined aluminum, 3D printing, and laser-cut acrylic.
In essence, I want to place this sketch flat on a surface, then extrude "To" the other side of the surface. I want the flat edge of this sketch (the side that keeps the part that will be inserted in the hole from rotating) constrained to be parallel to one of the edges. I have looked around a lot through the documentation and several other Web sites, and there does not seem to be an answer to this.
The sketch is simple: a circle with a flattened side, so if that sketch needs to be discarded, it is no major "expense" to me in effort. But given my projected series of projects, creating reusable drawings is going to be important. So how should I be thinking of this?
Just a quick one. About 4 years a go I put a numbering lisp into AutoCad I still have the numbering lisp and now want to put it into AutoCad 2012. I can't remember for the life of me how to do it.
I am currently using Autocad 2011, and used to be able to do it in previous versions but cannot get it to work in 2011. I have an image i want to put on a flat wall and have it scaled so it fits the whole wall.
I created a multibody part: a plug and a socket are the two bodies. The socket mounts on a surface. In order to create an assembly so I can check for interference, I want to place this first body onto a surface in an assembly/ Then I need to connect the two objects with a cord. I suspect that the "cord" could be represented as a "hose". I need to make sure that the 10-inch cord will fold up properly inside the case. I have measured the minimum bend radius of the cord, which is about one inch.
I do not seem to be able to find how to get the pipe-and-tube library into my copy of Inventor 2014. Besides, I'm only guessing that this will be the right way to model the cable that connects the plug and socket.
I have found that if you publish to single-sheet .pdf's and then combine the .pdf's into one file using Acrobat, each sheet is bookmarked using the name of the individual files for the bookmark names. However, if you publish to a multi-sheet .pdf, no bookmarks are created. Is there any way to create multi-sheet .pdf's in AutoCad and have bookmarks automatically inserted (using the name of the layout as the bookmark name)?
I have a number of problems with alignment labels showing up in layouts that I don't want to show or want to show up differently,. Is there any way to label an alignment in paper space (layout)? (or any other type of label).
cannot find a way to create a pdf and saving it into a desktop. Basically, in the -plot command, there should be an option to allow it to save to C:documents and settings"username"desktopfilename.pdf"
See the command line used:
(COMMAND "-PLOT" "Y" "" "DWG to PDF.pc3" "30 x 42" "Inches" "Landscape" "No" "Extents" "1=1" "CENTER" "Yes" "Fullsize.ctb" "yes" "No" "No" "No" "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Desktop\Filename.pdf" "N" "Y")
The objective is to allow the lisp to plug in whichever username and automatically creating a pdf based on the filename.
We do a lot of very large site plans with mulitple options and have to compare cost differences for Concrete, Asphalt, & Base Course. We hatch the areas and print in color so it is easy to see what is concrete, asphalt, grass, water, & Base course. Is there a way to create a table that would update the total areas that we have hatched? We make a lot of changes to these plans and it takes a long time to keep adding up the areas that are hatched everytime and typing the informaiton into a table. I have the table setup so once we type in the sq. ft. of area it calculates the totals but was hoping there was away so it would automatically update the ares in the table for us when we make changes.
Is there any way to put PDN on a CD? I got a new laptop, and I want all the effects I already had on my desktop. Can I put PDN on a CD and then download it to my new laptop?
I am playing with this picture and want to put a person's picture into the display part. But, I don't know how to get someone in there while maintaining the glare of the TV. I downloaded that picture just to see if I could figure it out, but I haven't been able to yet ...
I am scanning a large image and I need to color manage the image as a whole. After putting all of these pieces together on a new window, how do make it possible to color manage the entire piece as a whole.... it needs levels and curves. If I do each piece separately, they will all be different.
I'm thinking that if I flatten the image, it will work? I don't know.
only took photographs of the bed frame, but was able to line the mattress up together with the bed nicely, how do i do that? i only know it's easy to put all the extra objects there, but the mattress is the tricky part. the same goes for the shadows, how do i go about casting nice shadows?
In the older versions I used to just import an image and then import another image and it would place it on top of the first image. Done. Now it places the new image in a box in the upper right hand corner and for the life of me I can't figure out how to put the two images together.
Im trying to put a hat on a mallard (don't ask why, private joke) but however I try, I can't get it to mesh right. Been trying with transparency mode and magic wand but I can't get it right.
Any way to put an imported image over an object. I have corel graphics suite. I was thinking trim or something in photo-paint. The object is letters and i want to put an image over it like fill it.
I cannot seem to find a very basic tutorial on layering images.....now I am not even sure if thats the correct term for it but...anyways this is what I would like to accomplish:
Take an image and paste in onto my own background.
ie. a sheep as the image ...back ground a lake or pond(marsh)....I would like to take him out of his original picture and make it look like he is stading in a river or pond or whatever.
Iv often seen photos on websites that are not standard rectangular ones but are round in a circle usually with a very thin grey line around the outside of the circular picture. Is this easy to do i have photoshop 7.0 if there is a name for this sort of cropping?
Do brushes all of a sudden stop showing up when you load them? I'll load a brush, and i tried all the different ways, and it just wont show up when i right click. But when i go to Load brushes the files are there. Is there some limit to how many you can have in your "right-clicky" >.
