Lightroom :: Focus Jumps To Keyword Filter Box When Clicking A Keyword
Aug 17, 2010Long, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.
I've seen this happen in both LR3.0 and LR3.2RC.
Windows XP, 32bit.
Lightroom :: Syncing Keyword Changes To LR3 Catalogs Among Different Users (using A Common Keyword Set)
Jul 5, 2012I'm new to LightRoom and am glad to have found this great resource. Onto the issue at hand:
An ongoing office project is using LR3 to catalog 30 years' worth of images gathered from various media. Some are scans of slides, negatives, or prints; others are images straight from a digital camera. We have three people working on this cataloging project. The lead guy has created keywords on his computer that he uses to tag these images. Is there any way to make sure the keywords he's using on his machine sync with and are available to the other users of the image catalog? If not, is there a file that would have to be shared among the three users to make that functionality happen?

If I am in Library module, select filter Metadata, select Keywords from dropdown (no other filter panels selected), and start to scroll down the list of keywords, I can select keywords by mouseclick, and see the matching photos as thumbs in the main window.
However as I scroll further down, I can no longer select keywords - the mouseclick no longer highlights or selects. This happens rather incosnsistently - by which I mean, the point in the eyword list where the select stops working is not always the same place in the keyword list.
If I click several times on the same non-selecting keyword, LR4.4 jumps to taking 50% (exactly) of processor time (shown in task manager) , and the memory usage climbs steadily until all free RAM is consumed.
This is a small (~8000 image) catalogue, with ~2500 keywords, entirely non-hierarchical.
The catalogue is set to optimise on backup, weekly.
I've tried deleting and recreating the preferences file btw to no avail
Photoshop :: Vanishing Point Filter Option Not Available
Jan 5, 2008why the vanishing point option is grayed out? I am new on CS2 V9. and really appreciating what a great toolkit this is.
I have a circular image facing in the vertical plane which I want to lay down horizontal and have as in perspective (like taking a ringed archery target and laying it on the floor).
I am assuming that I need the create plane tool and believe that I get to this through the vanishing point filter.
Lightroom :: Creates A Keyword Inside Another Keyword?
Mar 12, 2012#LR4 catalog:createKeyword creates a keyword inside another keyword even though the 4th parameter (parent) in the call is nil. LR3 API doc says .. 'nil to create at the top level' and thats how it worked. Looking forward to LR4 SDK documentation.

Sep 2, 2013I have used multiple versions of Lightroom (2, 3, 4, and now 5). Why can't I add keyword tags to multiple photos? I know that it can be done while importing, but I usually import a whole day's worth of pictures at one time and they don't require all the same keyword tags. The ones that are common I do add during import. I used to be able to highlight the photos I wanted to add tags to, go to the metadata and find find the list of keywords applied to those photos. Tags that were not common to all photos has an * beside them. If I wished to have one of these tags for all the selected photos I just removed the *, otherwise I added the new tag to the list.

May 15, 2012When selecting an object in 2013, entering the command and trying to select the object without moving the mouse will not select the object on the first pick. You must select the object a second time before the object is selected and highlighted.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Hover over desired object
2) Enter command on keyboard (M, E, CO, etc...
3) Do not move the mouse and attempt to select the object
Nothing is selected or highlighted
4) Attempt to select the object a second time
Object is now selected and highlighted
The same thing occurs if you attempt to create a selection window or crossing window immediately after entering a command without moving the mouse and clicking the first point.
This does not occur in vanilla 2012. I do have Raster Design installed with 2013, so not sure if the issue stems from the add-on or not.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Dividing Off A Portion Of Polygon To Required Size
May 27, 2013The project is to determine to upper 300 acres and 25 square miles of watersheds to determine a point in a stream to comply with a forestry law. The law is explained in the brochure [URL]......... Page two has a simple map explanation. The points to find are the 300 acres & 25 square miles thresh holds in watersheds.
I am working with Map3D 2014. This could be done with drawing polygons, shp, or sdf. The output would be the points in the streams. A stream is from its origin downstream to its mouth at another stream, wetland, lake, pond or ocean. Watersheds smaller than 300 acres get included into the next stream watershed downstream.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Command Line Won't Stay Where Required
Nov 28, 2012I like my command line to be near the left hand corner and not "docked" (meaning taking up the entire bottom of the screen) like this:But each time I plot, and open AutoCAD 2013, It snaps back to the middle like this:
I've tried saving my workspace (I'm very familiar with customizing and how that all works) but it just always snaps to the middle.I really like the floating command line and found that if I have it just to the right of my UCS icon at the bottom left of my screen, it's out of my way, but gives me the lines of info I want.
How to make it stay near the corner and not snap back to the middle?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Regen Required After Opening Xref's?
May 20, 2011Since upgrading to AutoCAD 2012, everytime I open an xref using xopen, then close the xref, when I go back to the parent drawing the screen is totally blank and I have to regen to get it back. This happens almost 100% of the time in this scenerio. Easy to do a regen, but I am in and out of xref's a lot, and it's getting really old.

Feb 7, 2013I'm running into issues with some skeleton parts (with the BOMStructure type of "kPhantomBOMStructure"). When these files are manually opened up by themselves and saved, I get an error stating that "<filename> can only be saved in the context of another document which is not currently in memory".
I've seen other people with this problem in the regular Inventor discussion group ("cannot save changes", "save error"), but with no real solution.
What I'd like to be able to do is find out through the APIs which file this needs to be saved with. I'm worried that I wont be able to get this information since Inventor itself won't tell me.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Shortcut / Routine Required To Create Multiple Surface Intersections At Once
Jul 2, 2012I am doing bulk earthworks with C3D 2013 and quite often I am modeling large dam walls with multiple raises, core sections, filter layers, etc so I end up with up to 50 surface models in one drawing. The process I follow involves modeling each raise of the wall by targeting an elevation 10 metres or so below NSL. I then use a volume surface to give me the intersecting boundary between the topography surface and the wall raise surface. I repeat this process for each raise/core/filter section - create volume surface to find intersection, extract boundary of intersecting volume surface, add boundary to wall raise surface, put both on a unique layer calculate volume - repeat for next wall raise - ad nauseum.
To speed things up a previous draftsperson created a shortcut button on the ribbon that does the volume surface trick with one click so all i need to do is hit the button, select topo, select wall raise and it gives me the volume surface between the two, all i need to do is extract the border and add it as an outer boundary to the wall raise. I would like to take this to the next level if possible and this is where I an stuck.
If my drawing consisted of a topography surface and "X" number of wall raise surfaces all named in a uniform fashion ascending numerically or alphabetically would it be possible to write a routine/shortcut button that did the following;
1.) Create a volume surface between topo & wall surface 1 - extract border as polyline - add polyline as outer boundary to wall surface 1 - move both wall surface 1 and newly created boundary polyline to unique layer.
2.) Repeat process for topo and wall surface 2
3.) Repeat process for topo and wall surface 3
.....and so on until all wall surfaces have had volume surfaces created between them and the topo?

Jun 11, 2013How do I model (or calculate) the fewest welds/fittings required to change angle and elevation in a pipe run, as shown in Option1 below.
For this example the constants are: 8" standard steel pipe, one of the fittings is a standard butt weld 45 (12" radius), bend angle is 70 degrees, and the elevation change is 9". The custom fitting is cut from a standard 8" long radius 90.
Note: Option2 is just shown for reference, I'm only interested in solving Option1

May 23, 2012When I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
Photoshop :: Changes Required When Using Compatible Ink?
Jul 28, 2013I use Photoshop frequently to work on photographs that I print for others. Recently I changed the ink I use from the genuine type to the compatible type of ink cartridges. I now purchase ink cartridges from a company called Dealo at [URL].
The problem is that there is a slight difference between the color balance of printed photos between the genuine and the ones from Dealo. Unless you place the two side by side for comparison you probably wouldn't notice but here is my dilemma. Most of the clients I produce photos for are repeat clients, which means they can do side by side comparisons.
Photoshop :: Cropping Required
Apr 1, 2005I have a ton of photos (taken with a digital camera) that I would like to get developed properly.
Before I do this there are a number of photos that need straightening up etc. To do this I will be using the crop tool.
The thing is though, as soon as I crop a straightened up image then some bits will be lost from the sides. Early on the guy in my local photo shop was explaining how he uses the crop tool in photoshop elements (I have Photoshop 7.0.1) to get the correct proportions for developing.

Photoshop :: 1bit Tiff Required?
Aug 6, 2007I have what I assumed would be a pretty simple task, however it has turned into a pain. I'm creating for a series of digital stamps for an application that processes checks. Stamps will say things like, Previously rejected - Do not redeposit. The app based on a status calls a file and it is placed on top of the check file.
Anyway the specs are black and white, 1 bit and tiff. SO, I'm typically an AI user so once I realized AI didn't do 1 bit tiffs I turned to PS...which I don't know that well. When I create a new document and make it bitmap, 1bit and the size I need, I'm VERY limited with what I can do with the text. I'm not really sure what's going on. I click on the screen with the text selection tool and the artboard area turns pick. I can't edit my text once I click off of it and it's basically blinking black and white??? There is no text layer created, I can't create layers, the text is added to the background layer (which is locked and can't be unlocked).
I have the AI and PS CS3.
Photoshop :: Error :: A Value Between 13.33 And 172800.00 Is Required
Jan 3, 2004I'm using Photoshop 7.0 and well, everything worked fine until... I tried typing using a 8 sized font. But it automatically change it to 13.33 poping a window saying ' a value between 13.33 and 172800.00 is required. Closest value inserted' and it happened after I used the 8 sized font on different images, many times before. Plus it only happens on certain images... if I created a new images (regardless it's size) it won't pop the error.

Right now it is at:

h: 1920 pixels
72 ppi
This makes it 3.5MB. If I lower the h or w the website won't accept. I tried changing ppi to 60 but it barely makes a difference (3.4MB or so).
