I would like to know how to turn off hatching using the block editor.

We are using section views in our drawings. However, we don’t want any hatching to show up. I’ve scoured the hatch libraries and hatch documentation and I have not been able to figure out how to turn hatching off, or alternatively to create a hatch style that is blank. My attempt at creating a blank hatching file is attached, but it didn’t work.
How can I turn off hatching or create a 'blank' .pat?
I have searched the Help fine in Civil 3D, I have searched the tutorials and Knowledge Base online, I have searched the Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D manual, and I can not fine how to turn on hatching in Section Views. I'm currently running Civil 3D 2013.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am accidentally selecting the xref when hatching and thought I remembered a setting or something to where you could make it where the xref couldn't be selected when hatching? I know the work around. Just unload the xref and then hatch, just thought their was a setting for this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Block (elevation of a typ. door) that has attributes on it, Door Number and Room Name. The door needs to be hatched so I put an associative hatch in, which works fine in block editor. When I type different names and numbers the hatch boundaries resize accordingly.
My problem is when I close block editor and reinsert the block (or ATTSYNC) and edit the names and numbers, the hatch does not resize the boundaries of the new text.
I have created a bock in ACAD 2011 LT. I then save the block using the command line or ribbon button then immediately try to close the block editor without moving or changing anything. A dialog appears saying the changes have not been saved to the block and would I like to save? If I say no don't save my changes and reopen the block the changes have in fact been saved.
My question is there a way to get around this dialog box -Suppress it like FILEDIA = 0 for block editor or an option so it doesn't ask me to save.
The goal is to do this all from the command line w/ out dialog boxes.
Autocad 2011, Electrical package,
I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.
My drawing- block is a little bit complicated, it contains few actions and parameters and everytime i open block editor to add, or to modify some action I can't see my drawing because actions grips and parameters grips obscure my drawing. I tried to refresh layout but it doesn't work.
please take a look on attached jpg.
When the block is in a drawing and I click it, it takes me to block editor.
However if I go to it in block editor and test block it allows me to change the attributes.
Why does clicking the block go to block editor and not allow me to change its attributes as it does when I test block.
I want to move the base point of a block in the block editor. However, when I move it, the block moves accordingly in the drawing.
How can i move the base point in the editor, so that the block stays at the same position in the drawing.
I was in process of editing a block in "block editor" mode. I saved the dwg and exit instead of saving the block, exit block editor and then exit the dwg. When I opened again the dwg what I see on display is just the block. How to close the block and open the entire dwg?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add some attributes to an existing block using the block editor, but after I save and close it I cannot see any 'placeholders' despite adding a default value and the attributes work fine when I double click the block.
I've tried using the ATTSYNC and BATTMAN commands but nothing works and there are no invisibility states applied to either the attribute or block and all layers are switched on.
I just tried making a quick block from scratch and it seems to have the same affect, except the default value will show, but no 'placeholder' shown if left blank.
I swear with previous version I could see the tag when a value hadn't been applied, so is it that the version I now use (2012) does not have this feature or it's disabled?
I have several blocks saved as separate .DWGs, some of which are dynamic. I want to review and test these blocks, but I can't find a way to open the existing block definitions in the Block Editor without first inserting the blocks into a drawing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am building finished piping assemblies from a collection of smaller parts I have been creating and saving with WBLOCK. I found a mistake on one of my parts(I needed to rotate a piece of pipe). Because the sub-part was part of the complete assembly, I could not rotate the sub-part independently so I opened the block in the block editor. Apparently, and this was my original question, UCS commands do not work in the block editor. The result of this fact was that I could not rotate the sub-assembly in the direction it needed to go. So first question: Can the UCS be moved in the block editor? It focused on exploding blocks that would not explode. I thought if I could simply explode the block back into its component parts, I could rotate the sub-assembly. This is where everything went to hell.
I am not even sure what happened but now I have a new definition of the block that will still not explode, references itself, includes other parts I don't want and is just generally making me PDM. I figure it will be easier to just delete the entire block and redraw the components rather than trying to fix my mess. I did try the undo command but it apparently will not undo the changes to the block definition. Second question: How do I remove all traces of a block saved with BLOCK and WBLOCK so I can start fresh?
Third question: I will not create another block until I learn more about them. Any reference related to intelligent block creation?
I haven't reviewed the recommended posts, but just a quick question. I am in the 'Dynamic Block Editor' command. I am trying to add a stretch application to the block (a simple section flag), and I have success up until the point where I save and go back into the drawing. There I do not get a pull-down tab and it will not allow me to stretch where I have defined the block through the 'Parameters' and 'Actions' tabs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I edit a block in the block editor, It regens to a blank black screen. Then I have to zoom extents and zoom back to where the block is. Is this normal? I would think it'd be better if it just put you back to where you were working. I understand the regen probably is necessary to change all the blocks that need to be updated. Just wonder why it puts you to a blank space.

I just installed LT2013 and migratet my settings from LT2008.
Doubleclicking on a blok openes the block editor in LT2008, but not in LT2013.
In LT2008, the main cui file was acadlt.cui. And in this file the "block - double click" action was specified. And it worked in LT2008. I have my own cui-file which not contains any doubleclick-actions.
In LT2013, after migration from LT2008, the mail cui file is now my own cui-file (which not contains any doubleclick actions). Is this why it doesnt work ?
I have tryed to copy a doubleclickaction from acadlt.cui to "my own cui-file". And now it works.
Is this because "my " cui file now is the main cui file ? Why is "my" cui file the main cui file after migration ? is there a way to change, so acadlt.cui becomes the main cui file ?
If not, is there a way to transfer alle settings from acadlt.cui to "my" cui file ? I know i can do this one action of a time in "transfer".
Running 2014 plain Jane. I have the ribbon turned off. Sometimes (a lot) when I double click a block to edit it my Block Editor Toolbar does not come on. And it is not listed in the acad list of tool bars.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have few hundred drawings ( used as symbols) I have to update; the issue I have is that many of them are dynamic blocks. When I process them, the program stops when opening one of those drawings having authoring elements. Is there any way to go over that message instead of clicking "No" every time?

In the old cad we had the block editor where you can add and remove entities from the block; how will I do that now?
I am working with 2013 in 2D
Somehow I switched my UCS without noticing from X,Y,X to Z,Y,X. Though the UCS was changed my layout never switched orientation (flat square remained flat square and did not turn into a line).
I was alerted to the error when inserting the blocks. Half of the blocks were showing up as thin lines (in the Z plane) and half where showing up in the X plane.
I was able to correct the UCS by typing UCS, world view, then PLAN, current.
My question now: How can I fix the blocks that where "created" in the Z plane so that they can be inserted into the X plane without having to 'rotate3d' every time I insert a block?
I'm starting to wonder if I need to reset my program. When I click on my blocks, it won't allow me into block editor. I checked, and my Blockeditlock variable is set to zero, which should allow me in. But alas, it does not. When I type in "blockeditor" it says "read only". Which it's never done before.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi use autocad lite 2012 and it works fine except for when i edit a block (either block editor or block in place) when i open the block i can edit it fine but then when i go to close the block and save changes my computer will usually lag and most likely autocad will crash. i then lose all the work that i did in the block. i don't know how to fix this problem but it takes time out of the day. and always have to redo the work.
sometimes editing the block will only lag when it closes for after 10 seconds and other times it never goes back to the model and cad crashes
a side note is that i tried REFEDIT and the same problem still happens.
AutoCAD will be running fine but if i use the Block editior everything suddenly slows down.
It doesn't matter what block I edit or if I even edit a block but if I open and then close the Block editor it slows considerably.
I have treid Regen, Purge, Audit, Turning off snap's, Polar Tracking etc but nothing seems to work with the exception of closing and resetting AutoCAD
I'm having issues trying to use attribute definitions inside of a dynamic block. .I'm trying to create notes that are attached to differnet visibilty states of a dynamic block. I have multiple visibilty states that are have different attribute definitions placed on top of other definitons. The wanted attributes definitions apear to be visible in block editor but then when I test the block the wrong definitions appear. Is it because the defintions are on top of each other. Also all the definitions are in the same layer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere doesn't seem to be an issue with this block when I open it with the block editor in the drawing where it was created. However, if I insert it into another drawing, it comes in as a block but when I select it, only the insertion point grip is visible. What happened to the parameters and actions? Oh they're still there but I have to open the block editor again for that block and then they display a great distance away from the block itself. This is all in model space with no change to the scale of the block upon insertion.
If I erase the parameters and actions and recreate them, the block behaves correctly in that second drawing but there is still the problem with the original block in my library. The attachment is supposed to be for a portion of metal deck that can be arrayed to whatever length is requied.
