AutoCad :: After Many Failed Attempts / LINE WEIGHTS Don't Plot / Print

Mar 3, 2011

I set up my line weights in layer properties. When I print in color, the line weights show up. When I print monochrome, the line weights are all the same size. I've messed with the LWT button but that doesn't seem to work either.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Same Line Weights On Different Layers Print Out At Different Scales?

Aug 1, 2013

I have two layers. One is set to red color, the other to blue color (using ctb). I have both layers defaulted to 1 mm line weight thickness. Blue is continuous and Red is dashed.

When printing the blue layer prints at the correct weight of 1mm, while the dashed red layer prints at a much smaller thickness. All line properties are set to default or bylayer (this is not being caused by the lines having individual special properties).

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Layers Are Set To Default Line Weights In Both Files

Jun 25, 2012

Why files received from different architects affect how my plot style prints?  I'm using my set plotstyle but plots are almost too light to read.  Layers are set to default line weights in both files.  This printing problem happens in both model and paper space.  Using AutoCAD 2012 standard.

AutoCad :: Plot Table Set Up Assigning Different Line Weights To Different Colours

Apr 30, 2011

Ok, so i have a plot table set up asigning different line weights to different colours. I have layers set up pointing to the specific colours.
Eg Layer Exterior Walls - Colour White Colour White -> lineweight .25mm

There are some lines on this layer (and on others) which appear different to the rest when plotted, as though they aren't following the line weight rule.

Link to PDF [URL]....(Only the exterior walls layer is selected but this error is on multiple layers)

AutoCAD 2013 :: Control Print Line Weights On Feature Control Frames?

Nov 8, 2012

Using AutoCAD 2013 and TOL command to generate feature control frames.  We set our lineweights based on layer assignments.

Problem is that when printing, AutoCAD seems to randomly assign a lineweight to the feature control frames.  It can vary from what it's supposed to be (such as lineweight set for the dimension layer) or thicker than even what the object lines are set at.  Seems to pick a random linewieght at time of printing for these elements (just the boxes, not the symbols/text itself).

Is there a setting we should be defining somewhere to force it to follow the lineweight of the layer that it has been assigned to?  Known bug?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Dwg To Pdf / Line Weight Too Big

May 24, 2012

Is there a way to export to pdf so that the lines match closer to the original drawing? I've tried using different pdf drivers, using trueview, exporting to a larger paper size (which improved output, but still not good enough). I know there has got to be a setting to increase the rasterization quality but the obvious ones don't work.

The firest image is an example section of the exported pdf and the second image is what it looks like opened in autocad.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Plotting With Line Thickness

Jan 28, 2013

I have an issue with plotting line thickness, when I use the company setup using a d-size B&W.pc3 and mono chrome.ctb files, i can't seem to get the plotter to show line thickness. But using the same setup with a customer border, I can get the line thickness.

Also I not sure if this makes a difference, but the company plots from model space and where most of our customers use paper space.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Some Object And Line Missing While Plotting PDF For 3D Drawing

Jul 29, 2013

We are facing the problem of some object/line missing while ploting/PDF for  the Autocad 3d drawing.

We also tried for "HIDEPRECISION=1" command , even then not displaying it.

Then we use "OBSCUREDLTYPE=1" then the missing object display but other all lines get too dark in the same drawing .

For sample , I have attached one pdf , in which you can see the missing line and object marked with bluecolor box.

any other solution to display the missing object.

We are using :

Software :  Autocad 2012-64Bit , NAviswork 2013 , Autoplant Piping V8i - SS4 version : 8.11.9.140 , MS-Office 2010 64 Bit.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Change Plot Setup To Multiple Sheets For Use With Batch Plot

May 21, 2013

I have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:

Print > Batch Plot.

The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.

Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.

CorelDRAW X3 :: Autocad Line Weights

I export them from autocad usually as a .pdf with a variety of different line weights, I notice its not the .pdf but corel tends distort or alter these line weights which typically undoes hours of hard work, is there a way to make these line weights transfer more smoothly to corel?

AutoCAD Architecture :: Plotting Line Weights

Aug 7, 2013

I have noticed for many years (since ADT 2006...) that the OTB line weights seem to plot the same.  For example, I don't notice much difference (actually none at all) on paper between A-Sect-Thin, A-Sect-Med, A-Sect-Fine, A-Dtl-Fine, etc...  I have always remedied this by adjusting the Global Line weights, which I know is not optimal and I tell everybody else in my firm not to do it.

That being said, some of the more "seasoned" architects who are trying to use ACA are having trouble getting the line weights to print as they would have hand drawn them  years ago.  It has inspired me to take another stab at understanding this issue and trying to determine how it is intended to be used, and what I am doing wrong.

I have gotten the office to use the OTB - AIA LWT By Object.ctb, which I would assume coincides with the OTB AEC styles / objects.  Can some one explain this to me or tell me where I am going wrong?  I have the "Plot Object Lineweights" checked in the plot dialogue box, and honestly have checked and unchecked the "scale lineweights" box and notice no difference.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Line Weights In XRef

Oct 2, 2012

The line weights in the xref are as they should be - I can change the line weight (plot by layer/color) and it plots correctly;  when I attached this file to another drawing, the line weights do not plot.  I can change the layer color to modify the weight (.ctb file) and the correct line weight appears on the monitor, but when I plot - the line weight looks like a standard default width.

I checked the lwdefault in the xref and three other drawings, and in every drawing it is set to '25'; the lines are lines (not plines), and have a zero elevation.  The units are the same as the other drawings;

I believe it's a setting in the drawing (not the xref) - what setting it might be.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Update Line Weights

On any drawings created before the new install, the line weights are all the wrong thicknesses now when I open them on my machine. They used to be fine and to our company standard.

How do I get it to where my line weights are correct on all idw drawings.

I'm running inventor 2012, and generating a .dwg file from an .ipn.

AutoCad :: Lost All Line Weights When Plotting

Nov 2, 2011

I am using 2008 and have been using AutoCAD for 25 years, so this is not me! Some months ago when plotting, all my plots started coming out very feint as if all the line weights were very thin - this just happened overnight. I couldn't sort this but I have an older pc using 2005 linked to my main one, and I could plot using this one as normal (I did try installing later versions on the main pc but all plots were the same). Now, the same thing seems to have happened with the older pc but in a different way, again overnight (last week all was well) - colours have altered slightly and line weights are all plotting as default. I haven't installed or uninstalled anything, nothing has changed.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Mac Doesn't Allow For Proper Printing On Their Plot Style Setting

Aug 29, 2013

I am a Mac user and new to AutoCAD. I am enrolled in a CAD class this semester and the instructor for my session is requiring Windows. Supposedly this is because AutoCAD for Mac does not allow for proper printing on their plot style setting.

I understand that I can install Bootcamp and Windows on my computer, but I'd really like to avoid that if I can. If I were to do my work on my Mac and then digitally transfer my files to a PC for printing purposes, would my files become corrupted or compromised in any way?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Publish To DWFx Plot Stamp Layer

Aug 29, 2011

When I publish a drawing as a multipage DWFx (or PDF for that matter) with "Include Layer Information" selected, the Plot Stamp (Simple Date/Time and Text) comes out but on different layers on different layouts.

Example:
First Layout : Plotstamp resides on Layer 0
Second Layout: Plotstamp resides on Layer 3P
Third Layout: EQPT-VC
etc

Some general information:
Autodesk AutoCAD 2011 64bit
Autodesk DesignReview - 2012
Adobe Acrobat X Professional

Layer 0 Is thawed/plotable and on in all layouts, viewports all layers, viewports.  It has at least one entity per layout

Is there anyway to rectify this and still use the built-in Plot Stamp?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: 2007 Not Reading Plot Styles Correctly

Jan 17, 2012

So the firm I work at has AutoCAD 2000 and 2007. 2000 is installed on 5 out of the 7 computers, and 2007 installed on 6 of the 7 computers. 2 of the computers running just ACAD 2007 are Windows Vista, while all the other computers are Windows XP. We have an OCE TDS320 CAD Printer, an HP Wide Format Printer and a Panasonic 330 Copier/Fax/Printer. Our Problem is that When you try to plot an ACAD2007 drawing it will only plot it in color. This problem did not exist before 1/12/12.

When I select the Plot Style to print I select "monochrome.stb" which has always worked, now all of a sudden it doesnt. The only way i have found to fix this problem is to change my drawing to layer "0" which is white, so when it tries to print in color it will print black. Another Guy in the firm i work at has ACAD2007 on his computer running XP, he also has 2000 running on the same computer. When he tries to plot on ACAD2007 the same thing happens, so it is not isolated to my computer.

There is a difference though between his Plot Styles on his computer and the ones on mine. His end with .ctb, which works. It only doesnt work when he tries to print a drawing i made off of my computer. Because of this we copied his Plot Style folder for AutoCAD 2007 and installed it into the folder with all of my plot styles on my computer, replacing the ".stb" with ".ctb" That did not work at all. The last thing we tried was to copy over a file that plotted correctly, delete the drawing and draw what we needed, This also did not work. So basically we are thinking that ACAD2007 is not reading the Plot Styles correctly, or the Plot Styles are wrong or currupt.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Plot Results From Paperspace Are Different From Model Space?

I have several objects on various layers in model space and they are exposed through a viewport in a paperspace layout. I also have a corporate CTB plot style.

Here is my problem: If i plot the objects from model space, they all plot with the correct lineweights as defined in our corporate CTB, but when i plot them from the paperspace layout, some but not all objects plot with a heavier lineweight than what is defined in the CTB.

I thought the CTB was supposed to override any settings applied to individual objects, but more importantly, why the different results, on the same objects, depending upon the space from which they're plotted?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Publish Vs Plot - Image Shifts And Border Cut Off

Aug 13, 2012

I have found that when I Publish, the drawing comes out shifted about 1/8" down and 1/8" left as compared to when I use Plot. Which of course is just enough to cut off the sheet border which is 1/2" from the paper edge. I am using the same Page Setup for both Publish and Plot, same drawing.

This is to an Oce TDS600, and it only happens with 15x21 paper size. All paper sizes are set to 0" border. Probably an Oce issue, but have any of you seen this before?
