is there any way to use data extraction and get the dimensions of the solid. Using dynamic blocks on 3d solid is not an option as far as i know. I tried using block with attributes and field which refer to a dimension line but it's too complicated and takes far more time than just check them by hand.
I work in a manufacturing facility and we are trying to come up with a way to extract data from an AutoCAD file in to a .KML or .CSV file which gives coordinate points, etc.
This will be used in a mapping-type software to display/highlight areas of the plant with zooming capabilities and information shown on the left-side. We are trying to make it look something like Google Maps, so it can used to determine areas of the plant undergoing work, lighting zones, etc.
In a nutshell, I want to be able to extract coordinate data from our layout(s) which can used to pinpoint locations on the map and highlight regions, etc. Perhaps it could export data in to Excel with attributes assigned to the coordinates which give Area, Bay Location, etc. The initial thought was to somehow export this to a .KML file and use that as a starting point.
I have tried this question before but it is now becomming a little more urgent. I would like to extract data I can see in a viewport then add it to the data it finds in the paperspace of the sheet. I don't want the entire drawing (modelspace) just what is seen in the viewport. Then do this process again and so on. 1 excel sheet per 1 sheet.
I enter data into an Excel job setup worksheet. I then want to be able to extract data from given cells in the Excel worksheet, and have this become fields in AutoCAD. I do not want to use a table in AutoCAD - I want (ideally) to have the Excel data come in to AutoCAD as a field. I can see that Data Links tends to come in only to a table in AutoCAD.

I need to extract data from AutoCad Drawing using C# or VB.Net.
I have a Title Block which is not inserted using attributes. It has some horizontal & vertical lines drawn to look like a table and text added between them. See the attchment.
I need to extract data from that and display in Ms-Excel or in a datagridview.
I am trying to write a lisp file that extracts the LAYER, Z, X, Y, TEXT HEIGHT, POINT NUMBER, from the attached DXF file. Ultimately I will have the lisp insert a "POINT" at the X,Y,Z, cords, and then a "TEXT" entity at the same coordinates with the text height value and the point number string. Both entities need to be on the layer ending in "-PN". The layer name will change depending on the date. I have a third party program that creates the DXF file.
The point of the lisp file is to insert the point numbers and points into my drawing at their correct locations. For the life of me I can not make this work. I have attached the little bit of lisp I have, which unfortunately does not work properly because of it searching for the "TEXT" entry in the DXF file of which there are three per point number. I only need one. I have also attached the DXF file I have. maybe just an overall procedure that I can then code myself? I'm just not good at getting lisp to read a file and extract what I want from it.
Is there a method of extracting XYZ data to use for CNC tube bending from components developed in frame generator ? I know that in routed systems you can export that data, but can the same thing be done with frame generator or any individual bent tube or pipe part?
I would like a lisp routine that can extract and export the x, y, z coordinates of all the points in a drawing into a text file so I can use the same in excel.
I have an excel document with a document header reserving rows 1-12. When i use "extract data" in autocad, i don't want the excel header to disappear. Can i set another cell than A1 to be the starting cell in Excel? Or how do i keep the header in the document?
how to import point data that has Map Object Data also attached to it? "import it by attaching to a data source".
Example: I have a bunch of manholes. Each MH has X,Y,Z, but also Type, Invert Elevs., Pipe Sizes, Pipe Materials, Pipe Directions, Structure Type/Material, etc. etc. etc. I may have point data representing MH's, airport runway ends, trees, anything you can imagine, with all kinds of data imaginable.
I want to import this data directly into Autocad/Civil 3D as either Autocad points, lines, or closed polylines (I also have utility lines, parking lots, etc.- all with data associated with it), all with the data attached as object data. I know that anything more complex than points might be hard to explain here, so I am hoping at least for a solution on how to import points - I have 99,999 MH's and obviously I don't want to have to type all that data in one by one.
I basically suck at using sql server. I can get around using the Map workspace and the different tabs. I have never used FDO, and I am not even sure what it is.
I fooled it today by creating 99,999 Autocad points at the correct XYZ, attaching the correct object data to them, then exporting as a shp file. I went into the shp_name.dbf file and edited it to add the data I wanted by cutting & pasting from Excel. then I re-imported the shp file. but, this is a workaround at best.
Surely Map can import objects and their associated data fields, all populated with valid data! all I need is to know how to do it. I mean, if this is not something I can do directly using Map commands should I take the money I earned by surveying 99,999 MH's with my GIS data collector that allows me to assign 101data fields to each object I survey, and buy something better?

I have a drawing with Objects that have both Object Data and Linked data in an Access database. I need to get information from the linked table to a new linked table for each object.
I have thought that if I get the necessary information from the Linked table record to the object data for each object, I could then convert the Object data to a new link and am looking for a way to copy the data from a field in the Linked Table to the object data. There is at least one field common to both the OD and Linked Table record.
In my company, they have just upgraded the old version of Autocad LT 2004 to the new 2013 and we have created menu to make our job easy. I have try to transfer the menu file .mnc to 2013 but it's not working or I don't do it the right way.
I'm working in AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 and Autocad Civil 3D 2009.
The General Task:I want to convert the object data to attribute data so that I can export it to an Excel file, add another column of data, and then import that new data as attribute data.
The Specific Task:I have thousands of campus water meter locations (a block with a small icon, attribute data, and object data) that belong to two different systems, domestic water and lake water. Each of these blocks has object data item (a barcode tag) that I want to show as a label next to the block.
However, before I do that, I want to export that barcode data to an excel file so I add a column (eventually a new piece of attribute data) that says whether or not that specific water meter is radio read or manually read. I want to then import that radio read/manual read excel file back into autocad and have an X appear on the block icon if it is radio read. I also want the barcode information to show up as a label.
My problem:I can't get the barcode object data to export with the locations in one easy excel sheet that I can simply import after I have made my changes.
Find some person on here who knows how to convert object data to attribute data.
I am trying to take a jpg file of an image, and write each RGB pixel color's value into a 3 component integer vector corresponding to the RGB components of the color for that pixel. For each pixel in the jpg, I wish to write the corresponding 3 by 1 integer vector into a matrix after which I plan to do a SVD decomposition of the newly constructed matrix to do an image analysis.
Any plug-in that allows one to efficiently iterate through each pixel in a jpg, and convert the pixel data to a RGB integer vector, and say write to a file?
Specific Details: I am using gimp 2.6 as my image editor, and wish to collect all the RGB 3 by 1 integer vectors (where each 3 by 1 integer vector corresponds to RGB color of exactly one pixel in the jpg image) into a matrix of integer so that I can do a reduced SVD decomposition of that matrix to analyse the pixel data: I wish to compare two similar images by using the SVD decomposition of integer matrices corresponding to the two images saved as jpg files pic1.jpg and pic2.jpg.
Can you extract the data from tracking/story editor outside of InDesign? I do a large catalogue and want a way to identify which product sets had changes made to them or not, but not just within story editor, but download the data to say a txt file or excel, etc.
I like the 'Extract" feature for surfaces, where I get get the contours or boundary of a surface in PL form without having to explode the surface. I have not figured out how I can do that same thing for grading objects. So far I have been exploding grading objects and then remaking them. Seems cumbersome.
I wish to have outline/surface of those nonsolid 3D object convert or projection into 2D lines that can be use later.
For solid object, its can be projecting the surface by FLATSHOT command. But for nonsolid object, this command is doesn't work and showing nothing when I tried.
These nonsolid object probably copy/export from other software ie. some analysis software.
I have Photshop 5.5, and I'm having trouble extracting an object from the background. When I highlight the edges of the object, and click "preview", it shows the image but it is REALLY faint and it's all in black/white. Why wont it simply show the image the way it looks on the original? Why is it all fizzy and hardly visible?
I'm new to GIMP and I'd like to know how to cut out or extract an object from it's background.
There's a fest being held at my college and I've been assigned to cut out the logo from the posters of the previous year (I've attatched a copy of it below). I've tried using the cut tool, the lasso and also the foreground selection tool. The cut tool and the lasso tool didn't work as the object is quite complicated whilst the foreground selection tool happens to coat the logo instead of the background. I've tried invert and it doesn't work. Is there any other way to extract the logo?
After I import different files in my working file, it's getting hard to work- RAM(16GB) is getting completely full and its almost unworkable! I checked out Object Manager and found stack with "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object there under some basic shapes.
Stack is about from 10000 to 100000... Some times even more, but its not possible to select all them because Corel just stops. What is that- "SVG data" and "Locked SVG data" object and why they are so many there?
What is made in an exact moment (2:50) of the tutorial bellow, in which "history" pallet is used together selection to extract object. It seems to bring a better result than using "object extractor" tool.
So, my question is related to handling the "history" pallet as showed in 2:50 tutorial. It seems the "undo" is applied to the first "selection" action, but I couldn't make as in the tutorial. My PSP version is X4 and the tutorial version is X2. I don't know if something has changed and I am unable to make it in PSPX4.
I have object data attached to some linework and I want to copy that data to some new entities. Is it possible to copy object data from one entity to another with out having to fill in the table again.
We need to take polylines from AutoCAD Map 3D to 3ds Max and rename each polyline to have a name of something like "Building Number-Room Number", both of which are defined in our properties for each polyline. Because none of this data is kept on import to Max, we need to do this all in Map 3D, which we are not experienced with. Is there a way to do this, and if so what? We are importing the .dwg files in Max with polylines as splines.
I have an object with an Object Data Table attached filled in with information. Is it possible to copy the table and information from that object to another object? Tried the obvious, Match Properties, and it did nothing.
