AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Change Color / Line Weight

Sep 21, 2012

I was trying to do one that can change color and line weight using a number provided by user. What i want to do is to ask a number to the user, 5 for example, and then change the color to 5, and the lw to .5. I was starting with this:

(defun c:ccv (/ eco lun ob cc clw)
(setq eco (getvar "cmdecho"))
(setq lun (getvar "lunits"))
(setvar "lunits" 2)
[code]......

but is not working, it has a bug with the clw variable.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Change Color In Ribbon

Jul 2, 2012

In our 2010 version users used the "OPT Color Control" in a toolbar. When we went to 2012 we switched our users to the Ribbon. I am not able to move this Control to a ribbon panel. I can place in a toolbar and it works okay. Best I could find is "ACObjectColorCombo", Object Color Gallery drop down. Unfortunately I find that this drop down doesn't handle a selection set the way the 2010 toolbar did. I find that one cannot reliably pick a selection and use this to change objects to color bylayer. I can pick the object prior to using the OPT Color Control and they work fine. I pick the same objects and use the Combo box and sometime they are found and change other times I pick one or two and they work.

Is there a way to move this toolbar control to the ribbon, it will not let me drag and drop to a panel in the CUI.

Is there another solution to change object(s) color in a drop down from a ribbon panel? I have tried searching but am not finding other commands or control with selection drop down in the CUI. (Our choice is not to use the Properties dialog. Which, by the way, does work every time on the objects.)

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Change Library Of Drawings To Color By Layer?

Jan 24, 2012

I have a library that has a primary folder with 11 subfolders. If the LISP can go through all the subfolders, that would be great. But, if it cannot, I can work with going into each subfolder and running the routine. There are over 12,000 files and I don't have the time to open each one and change the color.

Here's what I need the LISP to do:

open the drawing

select everything

change the color to "bylayer"

save

close

open next drawing in folder and repeat

Once it gets to the end of the folder it can stop.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Change Color And Linetype Of Xref Nested Entity

Aug 22, 2012

I have a Lisp that I have been working on with some folks in the office, and i feel like i am close, but i am not getting the cigar. The idea would be to have the lisp allow the user to select a nested x-ref entity, and change the color and linetype of the selected layer, similar to the old "LAP" command (I know it is a dinosaur, but I still miss it). I seem to be doing swimmingly, code I have quasi-plagiarized. It seems to crap out where i try to pass the selected linetype back to the layer. I get the nastygram "Command: ; error: no function definition: GETLINETYPE" right after selecting the linetype from the dialog.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Using Macro Parameter Contains Space (changing Layer Color From Command Line)

Sep 19, 2013

I'd like to change a layer's color from command line because of a user icon. I figured out from previous topics that I should use macro similar to this: ^C^C_filedia;0;-la;s;Verdeckt (ISO);c;1;l;dashed;;_filedia;1;re;

(I want to use this macro to change layer's linetype, too, but that's not the point)

The only problem with this macro: layer's name contains a space therefore Autocad tries to recognize Verdeckt as a command (and macro interrupts there) instead of setting Verdeckt (ISO) as the current layer. I've tried using different quote marks, none of them worked (' and " and <>). I hope there's a method for entering a parameter that contains space.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Modify Line Type / Weight - Change Color?

May 12, 2011

How can I modify the line type/weight? How can I change the color?  Where are my object properties?

I have seen a few threads with variations of these questions.  I had the same ones, until now.  I did some serious messing around and came up with this, I thought it may be useful:

To get the AutoCAD 2012 "Properties" panel in ACA 2012:

Disclaimer:  This procedure involves modifying your software's configuration file(s).  If you choose to follow it, you do so at your own risk.

1.   Open the "Customize User Interface" dialog by a familiar method (I like the keyboard, the command is "CUI").
2.   Switch to the "Transfer" tab.
a. If you can't see it, expand the dialog to 2-columns by clicking the ">" button in the lower right corner.

3.  Set the left-hand column to "acad.cuix", I'll call this the "source file".
a.  If you can not see the file, click the "Open" button and navigate to your "Application Data" folder.

i.  Win7:  {userProfile}AppDataRoaming
ii. WinXP:  {userProfile}Application Data

b. Navigate further to the Autodesk Support folder:

i. {Application Data}AutodeskACA 2012enuSupport

4.   Set the right-hand column to "Main Customization File", or another customization file you intend to use, the "destination file".
5.   Expand both files' "Ribbon->Panels" nodes.
6.   Locate the "Home - Properties" panel in the source file.
7.   Right-click the panel and select "Copy" from the context menu.
8.   Right-click the destination file's "Panels" node and select "Paste" from the context menu, it will be added to the end of the panel list.

a.  NOTE: You may get a warning that the panel already exists. If you do, click the "Rename" button.  The new panel will most likely show up as "Copy Of Home - Properties"
b.  Right-Click the new panel and select "Rename".  Set the name to "Home - ACADProperties"

9.   Click the destination file's "Save" button.
10. Switch back to the dialog's "Customize" tab.
11. Using the drop-down, select your destination file as the file to customize.
12. Expand the (a) "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA"  and (b) "Ribbon -> Panels" nodes in the "Customizations…" (top-left) section.
13. Select the "Ribbon -> Panels -> Home-ACADProperties" panel, a preview will appear and the "Properties" section will populate.
14. Edit the panel's "Display Text" property, change it to "Properties"  (this is the name that will appear on the panel once it's added to the UI).
15. Right-click the "Home-ACADProperties" panel in the "Customizations…" section and select "Copy" from the context menu.
16. Right-click the "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA" node and select "Paste" from the context menu.
17. Click the "Save" button.
18. Click the "OK" button.
19. Observe your UI, the new Properties panel will appear at the right end of the "Home" tab.
20. Drag the panel to the location you would like it.

a.  NOTE: Adding this panel to the tab causes the other panels to resize so the ribbon fits the screen/UI width.  If there are any panels that you aren't using, turn them off to allow more room for the other panels.  (I turned off the "Transparency" panel, the new "Properties" panel includes those commands in the slide-out, making it redundant.)

b.  To turn a panel off, right-click a panel title, select Show Panels, then uncheck any panel you don't want displayed.

Now, my ribbon looks like this:

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Divide 3D Poly Line

I have little Autolisp experience, what I need is a lisp routine that will divide a 3D Poly line to say about 1000 points and add index to the points from the start of the line to the end of the line. It is very important that the index be from the start to the end of the line, because we extract the info to excel and then use the x,y and z co-ordinate of the points on our hydraulic analysis  program. We need to have the index and the x, y and z co-ordinates on our Excel sheet sorted by index and not by x, y and z.

To be more clear the 3D poly is a pipeline profile so we need to have the points in order by index and not by x, y and z.
