View 1 RepliesI was wondering if it is possible to develop noise contours such as seen in noise contour mapping. I understand one could just hand draft some polylines in but the degree of accuracy I would like to obtain would then not be sufficient. I have a grid based structure
currently on a topo map and have the measurements for each block (the blocks are a 10' by 10' area). From here I am lost to how one
would approach creating noise contour maps. Noise isopleths or in general creating measurement based contours?
need to develop the Inventor part based on the autocad drawing. Its a spiral flower step for kids playground.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe are a transport engineering firm in Queensland and I would like to develop a spreadsheet that can formulate cross member distances and recalculate to add or remove cross members.
The basis of this is the overall size of the body we are building.
For example: The maximum width of a body in Australia is 2.5metres overall. Our cross members would be 6 mm shorter than the overall width of the body to allow for 3mm end caps to cover the open ends of the cross members. So the length of the cross member is width minus 6, or , parametrically the length is (overall width - (endcap thickness x2))
The body length is the tricky one. We have a maximum spacing on the cross members. This will vary from size of body to size of body. EG the spacing on the small 2 tonne body will be different to the spacing on the 12 tonne body etc. So lets say we want to have maximum spacing of 450mm and a minimu spacing of 300mm between centrelines of the cross members. The overall length of the body will also determine the number of cross members required.
On top of this there is the front and rear coaming to take into consideration.
So the formula would be ((overall length - front coaming - rear coaming) divided by cross member spacing)) then a check to see if the last space is what and then can we change the cross member size to take up that space without going over the maximum space. We would also need to take into account the width of the cross member section as well in this calculation.
EG if we have 150mm left at the end we could increase the cross member centres slightly to take up this additional space without going over the maximum space allowable.
Attached is a simple drawing of a round tube sitting on an imaginary level grade. I'm needing to develop a pattern to cut the bottom angle. I'm making a scale model and this is one of the elements. The scale is 1"= 10.66" so this round tube will be 4.5" in diameter. The angle is too gentle to cut in my horizontal band saw; can't fit it between the guides. Years ago, we used to grid out from a base line and develop a continuous curved line on flexible linoleum that when wrapped around the tube, would allow a line to be drawn on what would be my grade level line.
We would then cut the steel tube with a torch on said line. Did this for 24" to 90" diameter pipes. I need to do this for this one cut; I think I can get all the rest of the angles for the project on the saw. I'm hoping that the printable (can be done on more than one sheet if needed and taped together or something) paper pattern can be rendered easily, such as a sheet metal shop might develop a flat pattern for rolling or bending. I'm limited to legal size paper, 8.5 x 17". I'm using AC LT 2011 so I'm limited in my abilities.
Am I better off using the Olympus software to develop my images, then using PSP X4 to edit them? Regardless of which software I use to develop, why make any editing changes before I develop if I can then edit after I convert to a Tiff or JPEG?

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled LR4 today and ran into a problem.I have been working with alot of negatives lately and therefore my photos have a reversed tone curve. When I converted my existing catalog all looked fine, using the old previews. But when I go into develop on any of the photos the tone cureve gets reset to normal behaivour, and I have to redo the "invert". And all this using the old process (2010).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if this could really be the intended LR behaviour? I start from a smart collection, one of the criteria is "has no adjustments".
Ok, as soon as I move the first slider in develop module, it no longer matches that criterion. But that should be no reason for LR to force me to immediately stop the develop edits on the selected image.
It immediately unselects, and I stay in Develop module with a grey window and the message "no image selected". (It does not move on to the next image, which still matches the criterion.)
I would expect that when I return to Library module, it would return to the same smart collection where I started, but I would not find my last developed images there, as they no longer match the criterion. But that LR grabs it immediately out of my develop selection?
Strange enough it stays the same, when I first explicitely selected all images while in Library/smart collection.
My expectation would be that I have this selection fixed to work on in Develop module. Similar to when I select any images from survey view and go to Develop module.
But no, the only workaround I found is:
Start from the smart collection, ctrl a to select all, then arbitrarily click on another collection withput this criterion - selection stays fixed - then move over to Develop module.
This is LR4.1 on Win7.
Definitely my functional specification would be: never take off an image from Develop unless the user moves on to another image. So ignore from where an image was picked.
Would you consider this a bug? Or a "feature"?
Do you see the same in LR4.2 or 4.3RC? Behaviour on a Mac?
After upgrading to Lightroom 4.3 in Windows 7 64Bit I often get random problems during DNG developing. The first problem: LR during developing shows on image thumbnail the exclamation mark icon of "metadata conflict" warning (see attached screen snapshot). This problem occurs when an external program (i.e. PS) has modified the DNG file and LR Catalog is not synchronized. Of course no modification at all has been done externally by any software but LR itself! It seems a problem of DNG/catalog sync that in some cases fails (very disappointing). The second problem is the black exclamation mark (see again attached screen snapshot) that means problems during reading DNG!! This problem is absolutely random too. Developing is still possible on this files and usually the problem disappear ...
This problems don't affect proprietary RAW files (NEF from my Nikon D300s) and I've never seen them in Lightroom 4.2.
how can I develope a proper piping system just like the one in the attached picture in AutoCAD 2013.
As you can see the tubes aren't that greatly connected.
Each tube is blocking the pathway of the other tube.
I need them to be all connected.
The reason why, is because I will be later using this design in Inventor Fusion and Simulation CFD to have fluid in the tubes.
We are looking for a workflow example of developing casting models into machining models.
Typically our castings are made from different materials (Fig-1) and then machining (Fig-2) are created from these castings.
Is creating the casting as an iPart (with different materials) and then deriving the machining from the casting the proper method?
Doing it this way seems to force us into making a machining for each casting material instead of just one machining that is an iPart. How should this be set-up for BOM purposes and for use with Vault (Base Version)?

Looking for the link to download a DWG to TIFF converter that:
Can convert big sizes (up to A0)
Can use high resolution (600 pixels)
Can use plot styles with Lineweights
Can convert to black and withe or gray scale.
Can convert embeded TIFs (logos)
Preferentially working within AutoCAD
Looking for a pdf to dwg converter that works very well. I am recreating some old drawings with Inventor that are currently in pdf format and would like to convert them to dwg's simply so I check the missing dimensions using AutoCAD. I've seen several converters out there and have tried one. However, the converter I tried resulted with the dwg being created with short polyline segments.
