I am recently facing some problems in Autocad lt. 2012. I want to save a DWG as a DXF. More precisely i want to save it in the R12/LT2 dxf format.
But it does not work anymore. The error message basically says "Can not save drawing as /******.dxf. Drawing is saved as /******.tmp" [translated from german ].
I am trying to create a star field for this school project. I've been trying to create one using the Add noise feature on a black background. I get to the point were I'm pretty satisfied with the end result. I used some other adjustments like curves, brightness and contrast, and exposure. All of these created a pretty solid star field. However I've noticed two things when trying to save the image at hand as a JPG or apply the image to a new layer. Both instances yield the image reverting back to the initial add noise, as if it adds the original noise I started with when I first began the project and I'm at my wits ends as to why it's doing that.
I'll start by saying that I have made dozens of droplets and batches in the past, and have never run into hair-pulling like this before. I have a folder with about 40 images in it. I'd like to create a droplet that does these two simple things:
1.) resizes them to 550 px wide 2.) Saves for Web with a medium image quality
That's all. I don't care what they get renamed as or even if they are simply overwritten with the same names. I have tinkered with each setting in the Create Droplet dialog and also tried countless combinations in the Actions menu to get this thing to work correctly. For some reason, no matter what I try, it always stops at each image and tells me that one with that name already exists (even when I am renaming them w/ serial #'s). Also, if I hit replace and continue the action, the usual JPEG image quality selector dialog pops up.
Needless to say it's ticking me off because normally I'd have this thing created in a couple minutes. Could anyone give me some tips on what I'm doing wrong or maybe even give me a brief run-thru on what actions and droplet options I need to have selected.
Ive created a mini animation where by the eyes change colour.I click on save for web & devices and it takes a while to come up.When it does the image is pink until i move it around. Then when i got to save it either crashes or goes to the save screen where i can click save but most of the time the save button does not work. When it does work i get a blank black box that does not render and then the program stops responding. What should i do?
I had my automatic save set up for every 10 minutes but files were not being saved regularly. I deleted files from the Temp folder thinking it was full and now there are no .sv$ saving at all. How can I make drawings save automatically every 10 minutes?
I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.
If I create a file in Photoshop without coming from Lightroom or duplicate a file in Photoshop that I opened from Lightroom, is there a way to save the new file from Photoshop to the desired directory on my local hard drive and simultaneously have it added to my Lightroom catalog? Or do I need to save the file then import the file into the catalog? I'm working with CS6.
I sometimes have to deal with dxfs at work.. Autocad opens the files fine but once i have made the changes instead of just saving the darn file it asks me to overwrite it.
i had drawing from customer in dgn form. what they do is include alldifferent layouts (electrical, cable, grounding etc) in one 3ds drawing. due to that this file becomes really big .(excess of 220mb) now i only want one drawing from that in cad form.
1) is there way to seperate this 3ds file in parts? there are about 10 models on this drawing because i can not save this big file as dxf it freezes 2)i just wanted to equipment layout so what i did is copy that design on new dgn file. now file size is about 100mb but i still can save or export to dxf. it does about 96% gives error creating dxf and thats it. 3)i even seperated new dgn in parts to but no success.
how can i save this file in dxf or any other way so i could open it on dwg.
I use Autocad 2008LT and want to save the file in .pdf monochrome when I email it to contractors. Â I can plot in monochrome easily but when I convert .dwg to .pdf and go to properties- graphics->vector graphics monochrome is grayed out in resolution and color depths. Â A line below says "this device cannot configure some (all) of these values". Is this a limitation of LT?
I can't find where to save my old ctb files in the new LT 2011. in the plot style box is says my old ctb file is missing. how do i use my old ctb file?
I'm using autocad 2012, when I save as dxf r12 and open the file back up the dimension style is no longer current. Any changes I have made to the dimstyle are listed as an override and are no longer applied.
for example if I change the units to fractional they will show decimal.
I have produced a 3d factory layout drawing for a client, Is there a way of saving it as a .exe or what ever. So that he can open the drawing and view it in its 3d form, orbit, zoom in and out etc
I understand they could download the free Autocad viewer program .
I want to create a new custom linetype and edit the acad.lin in Notepad. Instead of saving over the original file, I did a save as, but Notepad can only save it as .txt file, not .lin. Whenever I go to load the new linetype file (which is in .txt), it doesn't recognize it, and only shows the .lin files. How do I save .lin file in Notepad?Â
saving the 'Map Coordinate System' on a specific drawing? - For example, I need to use Coordinate System MGA-55 when working on an Australian Project, and UTM84-39N when working on a Kazakh Project, however, if I set my coordinate system to MGA-55, then save my drawing, the Coordinate system resets to UTM84-39N when I reopen the same drawing (it appears not to be saved with the drawing). I'm Using 'AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 (64bit) running on Windows 7.
We are a small office running ACA 2010 on Win7 64-bit machines, individual licenses. Â All our files are stored on the server and we do not use ACA sheet manager for file creation.
We are having an issue with files not saving! Â We have two working on the same project and they are trading between who has the base open and who is viewing "read only". Â Seemingly randomly one will open a base and it will be reverted back to yesterday with work lost! Â This can be documented when the person with "read only" open can see the changes and sometimes we have printed after the changes are made, but cannot open the editable file and see the changes. Â Sometimes the .bak will have the changes and sometimes not.
Does this have anything to do with "allow other users to Refedit current drawing" setting?
It seems that even when the document was from a 2010 version, if I open it, and save it, it automatically saves it to the 2014 version cad.Is there a setting on Autocad LT 2014 that allows me to automatically save to an earlier version of CAD (2010) instead of the 2014 whenever I hit SAVE.Â
I have a software program that imports DXF files and converts them to its native format, so they can be used for simulations. I use ACad LT to convert DWG files to DXF for this purpose. Sometimes they don't import properly, so I may have to re-open and tweak the DXF several times to get it to import properly. (What can I say - the target application is published by the government; of course it has issues.) The point is that I often have to work extensively in the DXF format.
Every time I try to Save my changes, ACLT tries to save my DXF as a DWG. It pops up a Save As dialog (which I did not ask for) and defaults to a DWG - I have to go back down the list and re-find my DXF format. Every time. Every. Time. Then when I close the file (even if no changes were made since the last save) it pops up another dialog to ask me if I'm sure I wouldn't rather save the file as a DWG before exiting.
I have used the FDO to connect to my SHP files. I have used one data attribute to get a rotation for my blocks. I have also used a feature Label to display the text I am interested in.
When I save to DWG, the feature labels come in as Text. I would like the text to go to the correct block attribute.
Is there a way to do this? I did not see anything in the Style Editor to use my blocks' attributes, only the geometry.
I am aware of using MAPIMPORT to set attributes from the data, but they do not come in rotated, and I have more conditions on which block to use, not just one field to decide the block name.
I created a map by using mapwspace and the FDO connections to shp files. Lately, when I have made changes in the style editor such as adding a thematic rule with a feature label, these changes are not "sticking" after the drawing has been saved.
I have deleted the associated idx files but it has not worked.
The drawing is saved at the end of the day but when I open it up the next day, the Style Editor changes are not there. I have been using MAP3D 2013 for over a year but this specific issue has occured only in the past couple of weeks.
My model is ~1-2MB and I'm trying to 3D print it. I am trying to export it as a .stl file but no matter how I try doing it (going through the print piece flow or export flow), the file is either 84 bytes or 0KB.Â
Is this a known issue, or am I doing something worng?
We are having an issue with AutoSave we have it setup to save to a certain fold every 10min and it isnt' saving to the fold. It used to save just fine and all of a sudden stopped.
I'm using autoCad 2013 for Mac on OS lion (Educational Version). Often when i'm working for longer periods, when I try to save my work, it will suddenly go to my desktop, and the program wont respond. My work then is lost, and I have to open the recovered file, or work from the Auto saved file, and sometimes they didn't save aswell.
My files are saved on a shared dropbox folder, with some external references. On relative paths, i've unatteched them and it still crashes. I've tried the _audit command, and that didn't work either. I've been searching with appload for the MdiTab17.arx entry and try to unload it, but I can't find that file (maybe it's a windows solution).
But why is it that I can only seem to save an animation in Inventor Studio (2014) as a .wmv (or Windows Media File)? Shouldn't I have the options for saving it as other types such as an .avi or the like?
I could have sworn I was able to in past releases. I should be able to save it as such, so where oh where is the setting that is dictating this?
Note: This animation is a cross section, not a shaded, realistic type with lighting and camera details to worry about.
For those with some autodesk 360 experience - have you had any luck saving VIEWS with your models (either through AutoCAD or Inventor). Is there a particular way to do so (i.e. software you need to use, format you need to save, etc.)?
