The company I work for has requested what PC specifications Autodesk recommends for use with inventor. We are currently using 2011 but would like to have the recommendation for the latest release. We are having major issues with crashes, and running out of memory constantly on working with images as well as routing tubes in assemblies. Any recommendations for PC specifications I should report?

View 3 Replies View Relatedour photoshop cs6 (with latest update to 13.0.4) keeps crashing daily and is not stable at all. so we would work with cs 5 again, as this version is very stable and wont crash even once in a year.
we are daily/"9-5" working at a photographers´ studio and use 2 different macs:
- brand new mac pro 6-core (2010/Westmere) with 48GB RAM under system 10.8.3
- old mac pro with Two 2.66 GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" from 2006 with 16GB RAM under system 10.7.6
(both with standard equipped/shipped graphics cards)
cs6 crashes daily whith following tasks:
- frequent crashs: using "motion blur"
- frequent crashs: using "refine edge"
- sometimes using "transform tool"
during our tests, we found out, that "disable graphics card" (photoshop>settings>performance) in the mac pro from 2006, would prevent a crash, when using "refine edge". in the latest mac pro from 2010, we did not find any solution to prevent a crash.
a "crash", we define as follows: during the mentioned tasks, photoshop is gone from the screen in the blink of second, and an osx sign appears "photoshop has crashed"..
What is the reason for the error " Autocad is running out of system memory ".
when i open a drawing more than 5 mb, my autocad is getting very slow and this error is coming.

I have a routine that runs a cycle through 36 large dynamic blocks, then finishes. Somewhere in this code I'm either leaking memory, running a never ending loop, or AutoCAD gets stuck on something. I have a 12gb machine, and this file only uses a few MB on the hard drive. So even after I save and close the file, AutoCAD is using 100% of 1 core CPU (4 core i7) in 0 drawing state stuck at 11gb of Memory (Private Working Set). So, What is this program doing in 0 drawing state, and how is my code responsible? I have to kill it with task manager.

I am trying to photomatch a model.I have hi res plan in as a jpeg and and a Site photo on the camera window.Basicaly the viewport is running out of memory.Can Nitrus be turned off, as it is not up to the work load.

Worked with 2011, so why can't it work with 2012.
I have image proxy turned on also and set to half 512.
Is it the new viewport set up?.if i loose time i looes money and that suddent happen when you pay big money for a programme, so i am hoping an answer comes quick.
I'm working in a large top level assembly and the following is happening
1. Assembly is happy with no broken constraints
2. Edit a constraint (in this case, to rotate a part based on an angular constraint with another part)
3. Error message pops up telling me dozens of constraints in subassemblies are broken
4. Click Accept, assembly does not visually update
5. Click "Rebuild All" button under manage tab
6. 3 minutes later the model is updated, everything is happy, model looks how it should.
This type of problem has been happening lots to different assemblies with difference constraint scenarios.
This happens almost evertime I go to a .ipn to update changes and save. It freezes w/ no cahnce of coming back. Two other things that is troubling me about the .ipn is that sometimes it will rearange itself w/ all the parts at 0,0,0 and or won't let me ballon any parts. After closing the file and opening it again it either does the same exact thing or takes the balloons but throws the pick points of into space......

Whenever anyone at the company tries to open a model that has a decal part in it, the File Edit window comes up asking if the person wants to check out the part. As decals generally never change after they are created, they are never desired to be checked out. After saying no to check out, the window then reappears stating that the local is never than the vault, even though you just finished a Get operation. Is there anyway to keep these files from needed constant updating?

View 5 Replies View RelatedPeriodically I am having problems selecting text! I will select my text tool and go to edit text and the type tool changes back to the selection tool. I have to fiddle around an click on different layers then go back to the type tool and then it will start working. I am not the only person in my company who switched to CS6 and is experiencing issues with this new program running slow. Switing from layer folders also causes thing to freeze up. I am running off a Mac Book pro with OS Lion 10.7.4. I uploaded CS6 just over a week ago.I only used the CS5.5 trial version so there should not be a conflicting problem with a CS6 trial version.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I import images from my memory card, the images in preview are colored but when rendered in LR4, they are automatically converted to black and white. I made sure that in the import panel that 'Import During Import'> Develop Settings> None. My images show up in LR4 colored for an instance then convert to black and white. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Am I missing something. I've checked my camera settings with nothing that I believe is the problem. I've been successful in using the other presets under 'Apply during Import' > Develop Settings, but using 'None' doesn't prevent the images from being converted to black and white in LR4. the same is true for importing to Bridge in PS-CS6. I get the same results of all the images being converted to black and white.

When using Photoshop Elements 11 and try to open the Card Reader to import images, the Card Reader isn't even listed among the various drives attached to, or within, my computer? How can I fix this? I want Photoshop Elements 11 to recognise the Card Reader so I can import the images.

My other cameras are importing to Lightroom as always... just fine. I have tried a direct import from the camera and also an import with my card reader and I get the same message. We're using iLogic via Addin in Inventor 2010. But I also tried it, with the 2012 version (the same problem).
The attached IPT File is running in the correct order.
I just installed the student version of Inventor 2011 on my machine. Everything went well but when I double click the inventor icon nothing happens. Autocad mechanical and TruView work fine.

I am running Autodesk Inventor Pro 2012 and am trying to start learning to use my dynamic simulation and FEA features. I recently just purchased the Up and Running series by Wasim Younis. I was working with his models on the multiple actuating jacks and noticed none of the features are constrained in the assembly. Now my question is, is this how these should always be setup? I am working on trying to set up a simulation of a frame I am rotating 90degrees with 2 hydraulic cylinders working together so as to use the strong side of each of the cylinderds when it goes each direction. The way I have it set up I have the whole thing constrained. The 2 cylinders are constrained so that they have their stroke 17.23" and the turntable frame is constrained to rotate 90degrees. So should I remove all constraints to run dynamic simulation? I attatched 2 photos to show the starting position (travel position) and ending position (working position).

and it says I don't have enough memory! How can this be? Its not that complicated of an assembly. I have done bigger. I excluded all the part I'm not using and they are all basic plate and tube parts. There are less than 20 parts in the assembly.
I could open my autocad and inventor dwg files (No I can't post them) fine w/ 2011. Now we upgraded to FDS 2013 and I keep getting this error.

I have an iassembly factory that has both both iassemblies generated and checked into the vault.Both com up fine when toggling between both of them on the factory file.
My drawing BOM was looking fine until I added a couple of items to the factory assembly file (items are in all iassemblies). Now I get this "Member Count Error" showing up in certain line items.
I rebuild both iassemblies I can't get the BOM to generate properly. If I toggle to the one iassembly in the factory file the opposite one shows this error message in the BOM.
