How do i get the curve when drawing a concentric reducer i tried lofting but still dont get the curve.

I have got a reducer with a size of 4" to 3" dia and a length of 5". I need to open and draw its dimensions. I need the dimensions as highlighted in the sketch.

how to draw a circle with its center at the starting cursor location of the drag motion? It's given that the ellipse shape tool is chosen.Neither simultaneously depressing the shift or control key concurrent with the drag motion accomplishes this objective. any simple way to draw concentric circles each of which has a randomly chosen diameter and varying stroke width? The polar grid tool isn't relevant to this objective.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how to properly define the dimensions of an exponential curve in a drawing to make it easiest to have the piece machined.
I am starting to wonder if inventor refers to this type of curve as something else entirely, as well. Since an exponential curve is like the shape of an airplane wing and doesn't have a "consistent" angle.
I needed to make a bunch of concentric circles (something like 30 or 40), and I used offset command; I'm wondering if there's a way to 'array offset'? It's already done and wasn't that difficult, but I just have to know..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with 2 mesh's they are the same shape but different sizes. I want to subtract one out of the other but only after they are both "concentric". The objects are not symmetric so I cannot officially use the term concentric but I do not know any other term.
My problem is that I cannot get them concentric.
Things I tried:
They will definitely both have the same center of mass so I tried doing things with that but to no avail.
I also tried to set 3 constraints (distance between identical surfaces on each mesh) equal to some value x but it did not let me. If it did, I believe the smaller object would have no place to go but right in the center of the bigger one.
I have attached an assembly with both of the objects.
Any unpublished system or drawing variable that allows you to toggle to the classic grips on a curve-fit polyline? I have searched online and checked with our reseller but we have been unable to find a way to switch to the historic grips that are available on a curve-fit polyline.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create a block that conforms to a curve in AutoCAD 2013?
In this case I want to have 3 lines that will intersect an existing line at 1 meter intervals - which is simple for straight lines, but when the existing line is curved my current block setup just isn't cutting the mustard.
The only thing I'm trying to achieve is to have a block that will place these lines at 1metre gaps (with the distance measured along the line I'm placing it on, and not the shortest distance).
Im trying to create some code for another user which takes the pre-selected drawing curve and retrieves the feature information from the model. More specifically, I want to pre-select the drawing curve of a hole, and then run the rule. The rule will take this selected drawing curve and get its model. Then from here I'm expecting I'll be able to use the Hole Feature classes in the API to retrieve the wanted information.
I've tried using SelectSet.Item(1by tut cannot seem to be able to set it as a drawing curve (or anything for that matter).
I've been using inventor for past 3 yrs. I just love it.
1. BOLTED CONNECTION: whenever i perform a bolted connection with option "CONCENTRIC", though it creates the holes in all the locations but places fasteners only in the first hole(refer attached picture). I'll have to copy and paste it individually for all other holes then, which is quite a hassle. It works fine with all other options i.e BY HOLES, POINTS etc.
2. While creating a new part, I usually makes the referance planes in the center of the part which makes it easier to assemble by planes in a large assembly. For this purpose, i have to project the planes and then get my sketch symetric to the planes during every part creation. As I've worked in other softwares too, where in sketch it automatically alows to use the referance planes for sketching, so we don't have to project it in order to use it.
Why the lines sometimes get angular when I draw a circle/curve? How can I make them round?

Recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.

HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
I recently added 2 monitors to my set up to bring my total to 3. I am trying to figure out the best way to work on one drawing, with 2 differant veiws on each of the 2 main screens.
I would like my main screen to have the plan view and the second monitor to have an isometric veiw (or whatever I need at the time) of the same drawing. Is there a way to have the same drawing opened up in another window, in one session of Autocad 2013. One on the main screen and one on the secondary.
Is there a way within PS to support freehand drawings. What I mean is a support in that way which makes hand drawed curves more smooth. You know what I mean. I think Marcomedias Flash does such things. Is this also in PS availible?

I have set it as default DXF 2014 for a good reason I don’t want a prompt asking me if I want to then save it as 2013 or I would have set it like that on my default setting, gets on your nerves when you are doing 100's of files.

I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow. Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
In watching videos about Photoshop CS6 I notice that the brush (or other cursor) often appears as two concentric circles: the outer circle gives some idea of the extent of the brush effect. How do I activate this double circle brush display in Photoshop CS6. I seem only to see a single circle for the brush display. I am using the "cloud" version with Windows 7.

Also, how could I make concentric circles? Or even just a hollow circle? I can use the shape tool to make a circle, but that fills it - is there a way to make it with just a 2 or 3 pixel outline and hollow in the middle?
