The text height in my model space is 1', then I open the model space and try to text in a new viewport, the text height changes to 48'.
I try to go back to model space to do the texting, but the text height is still 48'.
Where is the “annotative scale” and “paper text height” properties?
I couldn’t find the “annotative scale” and “paper text height” properties when dealing with “Civil 3D” objects such as points and contours the same way we have it in the regular AutoCAD.
For example, suppose that I need to increase to decrease the “text height” of the point label considering a particular “annotative scale” property, then how this kind of thing might be done in the AutoCAD Civil 3D?
I'm looking for code to retrieve the "Paper Text Height" from the current (active) "Text Style".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with all of my lines showing up on my prints when printing a 3D model. When I do a print preview, all of my lines show up but when I print to an actual sheet of paper or to PDF, the lines do not show up.

I'm having an issue in 2014 with switching between model and paper space. It takes 4-to-5 seconds for me to begin working in these spaces, after switching. Going between tabs is not an issue, it's just switching between model and paper space that causes the lag.

When I open a drawing (that was last saved in Paper Space) and I'm switching to Model Space, my view is not set to "Top" by default. How can I set my view by default to "Top"?

Win 7 / 64b, 4GB, 3.2GHz, Quadro 600. Autocad 2008.
Anyway, I can't seem to be able to type anything in text or mtext windows. I either have my keyboard input ignored completely, or I get blank spaces, depending on what font I choose. Disabling the Aero themes don't work. All runs fine in a XP virtual machine, but more slowly.
Switching between paper/model modes in case of overlapping viewports,I got 4 viewports (screenshot is attached)
My issue here is that I couldn’t switch between the paper/model modes for the inside viewports! This can be done only for the “biggest” viewport (that bounds the other viewports)
Then how can I switch between the paper/model modes for viewport number 2, for example?Right clicking a particular viewport (attached) doesn’t give option to do so!
Is there a way to control the annotations text height in Hole Chart, I like fx. 0.1mm in text height

In Autocad 2014 I can't seem to get the same properties when I choose a dimension as I have been with all previous vertions. It does not have any of the option such as text height, Tolerance, Precision etc. Is this new for 14?

Second problem is that I've created wipeout in model space when i go to layout (paper space) ti looks just how i want it.
When I go to preview or plot it doesn't recognise any wipeouts?
I'm trying to import a drawing from a dwt file into a drawing as a new layout. This would be perfect if the model space objects associated with this dwt file would import as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedACAD 2010 text doesn't view the same in MSpace and PSpace! Model space is the acad default text: txt Paper Space it appears as it should as Romans. The drawings print as txt and not as it should Romans! When I change the text in model space to Romans, save the drawing, enter PSpace and the return to MSpace, it seems to 'reset' back to text!
This is specific to my workstation BTW, when I open the dwg file on a colleagues PC it opens Romans in both Model and Paper space.

I would like to see a way of locking out model space while editing text in paper space. Unless you double click right on the text, you often end up in Model Space...I know - big deal right? It can become annoying or a big deal when a deadline is looming - when is one never? Also big fan of locking viewports.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a set of residential drawings. I Have read several different ways to achieve text size when plotting.
I currently have all my text and dimscale set to 0" height. I have the 'scale dimensions to layout (paper space)' radio button checked. However, I cannot see even the slightest hint of test when looking at my screen. I sent a dwg to a friend of mine who plotted it. no text was visible. What height should I set the text to in order to achieve an 1/8" tall plotted text? I cannot see text in either the model space or in the paper space.
How to rectify my model space text issues for a set of drawings. There are approximately 12 drawings which all have the same problem. I have not seen this problem in other drawings.
The text in model space appears bold and rough. I have checked that all the text is set on the 0 Z plane. I have taken the following corrective actions and have not had success:
-Confirmed text is at Z=0
-Reset the UCS to world
-Changed the Z coordinate to arbitrary number and set it back to 0
-Checked that drawing & viewports are 2-D Wireframe
-Other Desperate Measures: Purged, Audited, Created in PS then move to MS
We had a CAD temp. that set up the drawings who is no longer with us, so I have clue what he did to the drawings when setting them up.
I am having difficulty with the text in my drawings. When writing dtext or dimensions on my drawings in modelspace the text appears rough/rugged in both model space and layout space. I am using True Type (Arial) as the font. I've read older posts where people have suggested checking in Properties that the text is really laying down at 0 in the Z plane which it is. Some say using True Type is the problem, but just last week I was doing what seemed to be the same operation and I had no problems at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen i used to draw a rectangle, circle, line, etc- a box (or several) boxes popped up after i clicked the first point. These let me enter the distance then hit the tab button and go to a second box to enter height or angle depending on what i was drawing. There was also some popups that showed up when clicking the chamfer or fillet buttons but now those are all gone. When i input numbers, it goes to the command bar.
How can i get those small popup windows to reappear in my modelspace?
I have recieved an dwg file with the hight infomations of a valley. My task is to convert these splinelines into a mesh so we have a model that can be populated with trees. Is there an easier way beside pulling it out by hand?

The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.

All of my measurements are orieneted on a Single Layer titled "Noise" in various layouts I was wondering if there was a quick way to take this layer and orient all of this data to model space??

I always say the best place to put the dimension is the model space especially when you now have the annotation scale to control it.
