I have a question I have a logo that we use the color 5 Blue in when we print to the copier it prints exactly, but when we plot the same drawing to the plotter the the color looks like a purple shade instead of a Royal Blue.
View 6 RepliesI am on a 64 bit Windows 7 HP computer with AutoCAD 2010, and I am having a problem plotting a long (24" X 190") drawing file. We have a RICOH Aficio MP W3600 PS plotter. I have gone through the proper procedure through the Plotter Manager all the way to Select Custom Paper Sizes but the Add button is grayed out and I can't add a new user size. I was able to do this with AutoCAD 2004 on a Windows XP system but can't on this setup.

We also tried for "HIDEPRECISION=1" command , even then not displaying it.
Then we use "OBSCUREDLTYPE=1" then the missing object display but other all lines get too dark in the same drawing .
For sample , I have attached one pdf , in which you can see the missing line and object marked with bluecolor box.

As an engineering company we have started to convert hundreds of our drawings from AutoCAD to PDF using a batch utility.
However every file that is converted into a PDF file is opened by a PDF Viewer. We want to prevent this.
I opened my *.pc3 file and removed the check from the appropriate box. See below
I press OK, then save the file and close. However when I reopen the file, I see the box for Openining in PDF Viewer has been rechecked. No matter what I do, I cannot permanently remove the check from this box.
We use Excel quite often in Civil 3d. Every now and then a system or drawing will randomly begin printing the OLE with inverted colors. ie black box with white text. Restarting sometimes works.. Sometimes not. is there a variable for it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn our job, one of my CAD guys published files from two different ACAD models (one plumbing and one hvac piping) to PDF. I have our ctb setup to plot our background (color as light/grey scale. For some reason it plotted the background as a slight purpleish (similar to color 171). BUT when he published the two together, the plumbing drawings came out fine, and only the HVAC piping ones plotted this way. Which lead me to believe it was the CAD file.
However, now none of us can duplicate it and it's always plotting the purple no matter what. I've checked the layer colors, the VP colors, we've tried publishing, DWG to PDF, straight to plotter, etc. It all comes out the same. I don't think plotter ink is the issue as it should all be plotting black and white and our main piping and border is plotting fine. The PDF's we create look fine as well.
We have a Canon iPF710.
I've just replaced all the color carts in an HP DesignJet 510 42-inch inkjet plotter. I drew some parallel lines in ACAD 2012 to test the colors, and I'm getting weird results. The most noticeable errors are: Yellow prints out at a very pale green and Blue prints at purple. Red and Cyan seem to be ok, as well as Orange... I ran a color calibration on the plotter itself and the yellow prints out a very bright, correct yellow.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYou can see in the attached screen cap that colors 1-9 appear as white on my screen and that colors 10-22 are not correct either. This is only occuring in one specific drawing. Is there a preference that I switched somewhere that would make this happen? I have double checked that everything is ByLayer or ByColor that I can think of. If I insert this color chart into other drawings it looks fine. using C3D 2012.
I would just restart my drawing, however it is the new company template file that I have invested many hours into and would really like to be able to keep working with it and not start over. Or is there a good way to import and overwrite all the Prospector settings into a blank drawing?
I have drawn a 2D 'ruler' 250 units by 50 units and drawn 10mm marks along the edge of the ruler with the last section divided into 1mm marks.
When I plot the drawing, setting the scale in the properties box to 1:1 or 1:2 (or whatever scale I choose) then selecting File, Plot etc, (leaving the scale in the 'Plot Scale' section of the dialog box as shown - normally 1:1) the resulting plot is slightly smaller than expected. What should be say 200mm is more like 199 mm.
I am using AutoCad 2007 and a local domestic type printer (HP type) connected via a USB line.
I have received a measured survey drawing from a survey that I wish to print out on A3.
The drawing and the title block are both in Model Space. When I measure the structural opening of a door, I found that the dimensions are in meters. On the title block, the denoted scale is 1:100.
I am simply trying to replicate this in paper space in order to print out this plan on A3 paper at 1:100. By the time I have worked through Page Set up Manager and chosen the scale of 1:100, the floor plan inside its border looks like a postage stamp.
I have tried Format > Units and changing the drawing units from unitless to meters but this doesn't change anything. I have also tried scaling the model space drawing x1000 but this makes the drawing too big in paper space at 1:100.
I'am a quite expert Autocad user, but I have now a version wich seems to have some problem in plotting using Monochrome.ctb or Grayscale.ctb
If I choose one (It's the same problem with both), all the coloured layer in the layout visualization become black of course, but if I preview or I print it, the pdf created has all layer's colours.
of course the PLOT WITH PLOT STYLES box is checked.
when i try to plot a layout or modelspace with a pdf xref'ed into it, to a new pdf, the resulting pdf is illegible - first off it becomes rasterized even though it's a vector document produced from word, and secondly it is extremely low quality. I have looked far and wide for settings that might work with this but I have come up empty -

So I drew a drawing and then opened up the template he wanted me to plot it in and pasted it in there, it was way to big for the template, so I figured I would scale the drawing to make it fit - heres my problem, when I scaled it the hours I had spend dimensioning got scaled as well.
Is there a way to scale without scaling measurements? Or is there a way to alter the template before I start?
is it possible, when you insert a pdf into a drawing for not plotting the boundaries of this pdf?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn my company they draw out multiple pages of construction drawings in 1 file. They do all their sketching off to the side and then bring the finish detail onto the sheet that will be plotted out later.
They then start a new sheet below it and continue onward until they have 20 plus drawings in one DWG file.
What I want to do is print each drawing individually to whatever plotter or printer I set up. I can't batch file as I understand it because there are so many pages of a print in 1 drawing. Because all the DWG file has multiple pages I have to go thru several windows to get each page plotted out.
Is there a script or batch file that I can use that I can set up the plot and then for example highlight the page I want to send to the printer then go to the next print, highlight it and it gets sent to the printer without having to set up the plot again?
We use Autocad 2000 so I am working with a basic set up here without a lot of frills the later versions have. I am trying to get them to seperate the pages but that isn't working for the earlier drawings they have done.
When I plot to PDF using DWG to PDF.pc3 the drawing appears to be washed out, some things are darker than others. I am using Autocad 2011 and Adobe Acrobat 9 and 10.
I do not have this problem when I print from Autocad 2009 .
As I am working on a project this evening, at home, and only Autocad 2011 here, and Adobe Acrobat 10.
My plot setting are identical in 2011 as they are in 2009.
When i try and plot my 3D model in the Hidden style, so it simply looks like a black line drawing the plot comes out weird. The plot for some reason adds a thick black line around my entire plot, and makes all the other lightweights look faded out. How can i fix this??primary bar 3-Layout2.pdf

Black goes to a smoke grey color, lines dont show up, and the red is blurry. I need this to be fixed but I just dont have the skill to do it. View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen plotting some files to pdf using the "dwg to pdf" as well as the "adobe pdf" some of the lines show two different lineweights. Some of the text displays two lineweights as well. It does not seem to happen with all drawings. The adobe version is better than the dwg to pdf but still not as good as plotting directly to the plotter from acad.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have checked every setting and have even redrawn the file where the error occurs. We send out for prints to a printing company as we do not have a plotter so I need to fix this. When the file is converted to a pdf. the "sand hatch" seems to be printing at an inconsistant lineweight all within the same section. This error occurs when printing from a DWG to export to an Adobe PDF. The hatch is all on the same layer same settings and drawn in the same action period. it makes no sense why it would change when all the settings are exactly the same.
I have also tried drawing them on a new layer i created matching the same layer settings and it still converts inconsistant in the same two areas. I have completely erased that section of drawing and redrew it not changing out of any tools or settings and it just keeps doing it. I have also tried checking all the pdf settings and tried plotting it different ways and it wont dissapear. The only time it does not show up is when i export a window shot directly from model space.
But i need to print it from paperspace and this is where the error occurs. It almost seems as though the export is not processing the drawing corretly as it is converting the drawing but i dont know how to fix it. I first noticed the problem when i recieved the prints back from the printer as you can clearly see the hatch appears thicker and darker in two sections along the same hatch. I then looked at the pdf and it appeared fine, but as i zoomed in on the pdf up to 300% that is when you notice the change.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I try and plot drawings from autocad I only get half the drawing, sometimes just a strip of blank paper. This is for standard A0 drawings and custom oversized drawings. Plot preview is fine, the same drawings can be plotted by my 2 collegues. We all have the same computer specs, same program, same drivers, as a department we had new computers about 3 months ago. We use 2013LT. I can plot the drawings but it means using True View to open and plot the drawings (same computer, same drivers, but it works) I repeatedly asked our IT department and finally got them to look at the computer, the answer was "yeah, your right it doesn't work".

Im having an issue with drawings plotting too light in AutoCAD 2013. Polylines with a specified thickness of 1/32" will print dark, but the rest of the drawing is almost unreadable because it is too light. "Plot with Plotstyles" is selected
I can use 2009 to print, which is also installed on my machine, and the drawing will print as intended.Using the same plot style, same settings in both.
