Prefer a free service though I doubt there is such a thing but a cheap pay one will be fine too. Really dont want a "pay by the image" thing either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am new to civil 3d. I am building a site down the side of a mountain which consists of 4 tiers/ pads with different levels. Each of the 4 pads has its own feature line. To prevent any confusion or attractions of the feature lines to each other i have moved them to a site that i created called temp site locations.
What is the best way and location to do each of these gradings and how do i tie them all back on to the same drawing ? I assume (maybe wrongly) to do each separately and copy back into the the real drawing.
Do i need to create a new site for each pad. If i do my grading in the temporary site when i bring them back to the real site will the interact with the other feature lines.
My alignments have been created not under Sites and I am copying them to different Sites as needed. I am copying appropriate profiles along with them - an existing from surface and 1 proposed.
1. Should I copy the Profile Views? - will this create a copy of the profile view directly over the original profile view?
What are the benefits / disadvantages of copying / not copying the profile view along with the profile?
More importantly,
2. How do I turn OFF-ON copies of the alignments and annotation in my Plan View?
If I right-click alignment properties in a Site and set the Object Style to NO DISPLAY - this turns off the alignment, but not the annotation.
If I right-click on the alignment labels, Edit Alignment Labels - I am looking at a complex dialog box with lots of drop downs - a bit lost in here. What about a 1-click setting to NO DISPLAY the layers like I can find for the alignment itself?
Do I need to create/copy a bunch of new Styles? Not sure exactly where to go or start.
I brought a site into a drawing by LandXML which had 35 feature lines in it. How do you get the actual linework of the feature lines to show up in your drawing? It shows them in the site but the linework is not there.

Move multiple feature lines between sites?
Is there a way to move all the feature lines in a surface from one site to another site all at once? I know how to do them one at a time, but when I select them all, right-click "move to site...", it does nothing.

using Xara to make cartoons and illustrations for sale on microstock sites such as Dreamstime, Fotolia etc. Would the files produced by Xara be acceptable for these sites? (they seem to be fairly heavily biased towards illustrator, as far as I could make out). And is it worth trying to make a few bucks this way, or is the market already oversaturated?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am just starting to use ilogic for some design files. We have two design sites connected with Vault Collaboration 2012.
What is the best practice for sharing the ilogic rules between the sites?
I was planning on making an ilogic rules folder at the root of my workspace and having Vault manage the external rules. However, I don't see the rules listed when I check-in a file that uses them.
Do I have to add the rules to my template files? If so, how do I make changes to the rules without editing every file created with the templates?
We will be moving to Vault and IV 2014 after the first of the year, if that makes any difference.
What is the most expedient way to import multiple sites (surveys) into one Survey database?
Could you import into seperate networks or would you simply import into different point groups?
We are trying to establish multiple surfaces for one project. We are using 2010 & 2012.
I am working on a project where I need to bring in multiple building site files from Revit as .adsk files to one Civil 3D model. The first building always imports just fine. For any building after the first, I get the following message:
"The selected file contains a definition of a building site that is already in use."
"What would you like to do?"
"Update the definition of the existing building site (cancel the import and use the selected file to update the definition of the existing building site.)" - THIS OPTION REPLACES THE FIRST BUILDING WITH THE NEW BUILDING I HAVE SELECTED
"Browse to another file (display the file browse dialog to select a different file.)"
My team and I have tried every we can think of including the following (see attached):
Renaming the files Moving the files to different folders Importing each building site into a new file and copy and pasting into the model (this works until someone tries to import a building site, which will inevitably happen and ruin this work around)Double-checking all related settings.
I am using Photoshop CS3 for Mac with a Nikon D70s shooting JPEG images. Can I determine my shutter activation count for the D70s (metadata in EXIF) through CS3?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 (x64, windows), and I'm extruding vectors by a few points to make 3D models of decorative walls for our modelers. They've constantly told me that there are far too many polygons in the models that Photoshop generates (mine are averaging between 20,000 and 30,000) and that even 3DS Max's "optimize" tool can't take it down to a really managable number (generally they only get them down to around 10,000).
Is there a way to reduce the number of polygons in models generated this way in Photoshop? Even the super simple ones that I extrude (with no curves at all) end up containing around 8,000 or 9,000.
The issue I'm having involves setting the number of copies to print in Photoshop's print dialog. Most applications I've worked with will set the dm Copies of the DEVMODE to this value and send a single page to be printed. Photoshop, however, is setting dm Copies to "1" (even if the default DEVMODE provide by my driver has dmCopies set to another value) and sending several identical pages to the driver. Obviously this can slow down printing dramatically when the copy count is in the hundreds.
I've observed the same behavior from Photoshop when printing with 3rd party drivers, so it doesn't seem isolated to the drivers I maintain.
My question is, does Photoshop always send multiple copies of an image as individual pages, or is it trying to set the copy count through an interface I don't support? If it is using a different interface to set the copy count what interface is it using?
How to get count of path anchor points? I'm pathing right now pearl necklace with very diferent colors and some are almost transparent so i didn't know how to use any masking trick on it. So i'm pathing, pathing and pathing one more time. And after 1+ hour start to wondering is there any way to know how many path points i'd made?
View 10 Replies View RelatedLets say I have a B&W all text document in PDF form and I want to know what percentage of the document is taken up by text (lets say I was trying to figure out how many pages I could get out of an ink cartridge based on the page yield at 15% coverage). My first thought is to drop it in photoshop rasterized at 400dpi or so, and use the magic wand or cntrl-click the layer to select all the text and open up the expanded histogram palette and read off how many pixels are selected then divide by the total number of pixels in the document to get a percentage of coverage.
This does not work however... the pixel count shows a low number (7000 pixels or so) that obviously isn't right but when I take the magic wand and start selecting character by character the pixel count quickly climbs past the original low number so obviously something isn't right.
I need to know the exact number of pixels that I select for a size comparison. It's a non-rectangular selection similar to a cloud.I'm using CS2 but could upgrade if needed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a research project that involves evaluating the relative abundance of various colors in a leaf. The leaves that I am working with have three distinct sections of color (green, burgundy, and coral).
I have scanned images of the leaf samples on a flat bed scanner (all with the same quality) and am using the magic wand tool to determine the total pixel count of the leaf and the total pixel count for each individual color. With this data, I determine the relative percent of each color within the leaf. Code:
I have modeled a banana with 220 polygons . ( I have applied subdivision surface to that).
So When I baking a texture for that , The unwrap modifier adds about 771 polygons and vertices to that and model takes about 990 polygons and will convert to a high polygon model.
So what should am I do ?
Is there any way to keep polygons count as 220 with texture applied to that ?
There's really only one, well, one-and-a-half features that I still miss since I move from PaintShop to Gimp.
Count colors used.
It was a simple command in the color menu that would tell me how many unique colors were in the image I was working with. I clicked it and I got a dialogue box that told me.
Is there any feature like that in Gimp that I simply never found? Or is there a plug-in or something that I can add to give me this functionality?
Another feature I only kinda miss was an extended way to reduce colors. In Gimp I'm wither working in RBG (full color) or indexed, which is 256 colors. (And greyscale which is just a form of indexed.) But in Paintshop I recall being able to reduce the color count to larger numbers, like 1k and 4k and 10k or the like. I never actually found a practical use for this feature, so I only half-miss it. But even so, I might as well ask about it as well. Is there any way to add that functionality into GIMP?
I have a dwg with as many as 150 of the same block inserted. What command will give me a count of those blocks?

Really big scene. 17 Million polys. First of all...17 million is not displaying correctly. (See image) There is an extra digit at the end.Second, when I select an object, (since 17 million takes up so many spaces) I can't properly read the poly count on my selected object.
Any way to change the spacing or size of the font?
