I am upgrading from Photoshop CS2 and this is the version that the Adobe website says to purchase for this upgrade path. The problem is that CS4 doesn't see my installed, working, activated, and registered CS2 installation so it brings up the next screen offering to allow me to install it as a trial version OR list my qualifying product and serial number. The way that it offers to let me enter my qualifying product is via a drop down box with a single entry of CS3 Extended. No way of entering my CS2 there and it doesn't like my CS2 serial number entered with a CS3 product being shown there (says it isn't a valid CS3 serial number...of course it isn't).
How do I open apps for CC. I have now installed Photoshop CC, but I only see CS6 in my applications. Will CS6 automatically upgrade to CC? Do I need to uninstall CS6 to use CC?
1. Can my PS7 files be opened in CS4 on this new 'puter and read?
2. Can they be worked on and saved as CS4?
3. Can PS7 and CS4 in installed and work individually on this new OS?
4. I used ImageReady for years and loved it, and tragically, its gone from all the upgrades. This was used to create my website. If I keep my old computer, can I work on page changes, new work, etc., make a copy on a disc, take it to the new computer and upload the data to my website from there?
5. If not, what program for optimization and animation abilities would you suggest.
I'm looking to upgrade from PS6, but I'd like to get some feedback on my available options. Assuming that I'd be limited to the 3-version rule, I'd probably go with CS2 as my target version. However, the listings on Amazon show two different entries for upgrades from PS 5.5+ and one that doesn't specify.
Is this upgrade path possible considering the gap in versions? Were there different upgrade products offered originally that I'd need to watch for? How would I be able to verify the copy I'm buying is legitimate besides just taking the seller's word for it?
I'm working as a web designer, creating layout and working with CSS. Actually I'm using Photoshop CS.
My boss asked me what was the interest of upgrading to Photoshop CS3 (and I'd like to).
How can I convince him ? What new functions are really useful to create web sites ? What can help me to work faster ? Why is it worth the cost and so on.
I have just upgraded from CS3 to CS4. I had assumed that the existing installation would be upgraded. However, CS4 was installed next to CS3. Should I now uninstall the previous version?
I work at home with CS and at work with CS2. I'm getting upgraded to CS3 at work, and in accordance with the Adobe license, I'd like to install CS3 on my home computer as well.
Can I do the CS3 install over CS, or do I need to first install CS2?
I have CS3 and bought a CS5 upgrade. Both were loaded on my PC via the cd/dvd player. I am switching to a laptop that I bought without a CD/dvd player. I was able to copy the CS5 CD to a flash drive and load it fine. I was unsuccessful with CS3 so I can't use CS3 as an upgrade. How can I get CS5 to work after the 30 day grace period?
I have Photoshop CS5 Extended and want to upgrade. When I got to the Adobe Upgrade page I can't see Cs6 Extended, just CS6...If (as I have CS5 extended) I upgrade will I get Extended? If not where do I look for the upgrade to CS6 Extended?
I had been running CS5 extended on my old computer. Now, on the new computer, I want to upgrade to CS6 (regular, not extended). I know I don't have to install the old software on my new computer.
I'd just like to know which download link to use to get the full CS6 software and the upgrade pricing. Will there be a path in the authorization process where I can put in my old serial numbers (so it's the same download link for everyone?). My first Photoshop version was CS3, and then I upgraded to CS5 extended. Shall I put in both serial numbers or just the one for the CS5 upgrade?
It's time to finally upgrade to CS3 but I am currently running Windows 2000. I have read a lot of nightmares about upgrading to XP, and I don't even want to consider Vista. Any suggestions about doing this? I'm using a Dell Workstation Precision 360 with 2 GB RAM but I just ordered to more GB.
I currently have both PS CS2 as well as CS3 Extended on my computer. When I decided to upgrade to CS3 from CS2 I went with the extended version but find I really have no use personally for the 3D tools. Strangely, there is no way to 'downgrade' from CS3 Extended to plain old garden variety CS4. However, it does appear that you can upgrade from CS2 to CS4.
If both CS2 and Cs3 Extended are on my machine and I purchase a CS4 upgrade will the software see the CS2 and allow an upgrade to CS4, or will I be 'shut out' because I have CS3 Extended on the machine? Will I have to uninstall CS3 Extended and then do the upgrade to CS4?
I was planning on trying out the windows 7 RC on my laptop but had a quick question before i did. My laptops currently configured in such a way that i can install 7 as an "upgrade" rather then a complete new install, keeping my programs and files intact. However, I remember in the past from when I first installed vista, if i tried to launch photoshop from a different partition(eg, photoshop is installed on the XP partition but i'm using vista), it would fail with an error saying something to the effect that licensing had stopped working. Will this happen if i "upgrade", or should I just install 7 on a different partition to be safe?
I use a couple of systems for CS and LR only. They are running Windows Vista (Home Edition). I wanted to sign up for creative cloud, but the service tells me that Windows 7 (or 8) is supported, not Vista. If I upgrade my PC to Windows 7, will the current versions of CS6 and LR 4.4 still work? Or, do I have to buy a new version.
Yes, it's been well over a decade since I upgraded from my Wacom Intuos 2 pen/pad, but I think I've finally worn the thing into the grave. It had served me well, so I didn't see need to get any new versions--until now.
So my question is, what do you recommend as an upgraded improvement? There's newer models of the Intuos pad/pen and there's also Bamboo pad/pens. I'm an illustrator that colors my work in great detail exclusively on Phtotoshop so I'd love to get a pen/tablet that handles all daunting assignments. And because I'm an illustrator, I can't really afford a Cintiq tablet, so I guess an Intuos of Bamboo are my choices.
My ancient Intuos 2 pen still works so-so but it suddenly started delaying and I find I have to tap the pad with the pen to get the cursor to move in the area I want it to. I installed the Intuos 2 driver again but nothing's changed. Yep, time for new tools.
I have Photoshop CS5 and would like to upgrade to CS6. I have a lot of tasks stored and would like to be able to either have them retained during the upgrade or save the files somewhere and then load them into CS6.
I made the upgrade to Windows 8 and now several PS plugins causes Photoshop CS6 to "Stop Working And need to close". I have uninstalled and reinstalled plugins and still the same problem. As this happens with different plugins from different vendors I am led to believe this is not a 3rd party problem, but rather a problem with PS in win8. Happens with plugins from Niksoft and RedGiant. Needless to say I have all the latest software and updates - legally purchased.
I switched from cs5 to cs6 and now all my actions are no longer have the actions icon. I can only upload through Photoshop and am no longer able to double click the icon to open. Even my backup files have all lost the actions icon.
I've been using Photoshop CS 5 with Camera Raw 6.7 on my MacBook Pro with no issues until I recently upgraded to OS 10.8. Now my Canon CR2 files (shot with a Canon G15) won't open. of a solution or work-around for this problem?
I am a student right now and I am taking a class to learn how to use my new DSLR. I will probably never be a professional photographer but plan on avidly pursuing this hobby. I was thinking of purchasing an academic version of Photoshop CS3.
My question is: When a new version of photoshop comes out (for example CS4) will I be able to purchase the upgrade version if I own the academic version of cs3 or will I have to purchase the full version?
