I have just made a header for a site with links and everything already on it. Now, what would be the easiest way to save the image in order to make those links? Do I slice up the header and save all the links seperately so that I just add HTML to them, do I take it to Image ready? What?

I want to select just two parts of this image to make clickable - in this case it would be the black part of the 'S' (the top part), and the white part of the 'S' (the bottom part).
Photoshop Image Ready only seems to let me create rectangular or square shaped slices - I have seen this done on other websites where differently proportioned shapes and slices have been created?

I have an image that I will slice to smaller parts.
The slice tool allows me to only draw straight lines.
For some reason, I need to slice the image by drawing on it and without the use of straight lines. I will draw many curves How can I do this?

I have stitched together some photos from my Canon digital camera using the bundled software to get a panorama photo in jpeg format (the photos were taken in panorama mode on the camera). Now I want to do something seemingly simple: split up the huge created image (14251 x 1596) into handy 6x4 chunks so I can upload them to ofoto (or whatever) and get them printed as cheap 6x4 prints that I can paste together on my wall. So for 6x4 I'd like to split it into 2394 x 1596 images at the original quality (with the last image in the set being padded with white so it matches the other slices in height). I've tried using the slice tool in photoshop 7.0 but there there are 2 problems: a max slice width of 1000 pixels and Image Ready only allows creating a useless gif file. Any ideas (apart from writing the tool myself in Java or C)?

I have some kind of colorful background.
How can I make a slice from the background which I'll define it as No-Image (which means I can write on it) and the colorful background will be kept and not be turned into a single background color?

I am trying to find a faster way to save my images. I shoot in raw, save raw images as jpegs after editing them in Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac version 10.7.5. When I save, I either have to save as a copy of the exisiting image, or replace the image I'm working on. Other forums I've read said to make an action to save and create a function key to make this process faster, but my function keys aren't working, and playing the action I've created still makes a copy of the image.

For a project I am working on, I would be like to be able to slice a photograph up into a number of smaller segments. I can explain what I want to do best in terms of what this would look like if I were working with a physical print.
Let's say the print is 8 X 10 inches. I'd like to take that print and cut it up into 16 half inch strips along the 8 inch side, and then cut those horizontally into 20 half inch little squares. It would sort of resemble a jigsaw puzzle but of course all the side would be straight. Is there a convenient way to do this in Photoshop? I'd want to be able to remove these and rearrange them in PS or perhaps paste each segment into inDesign or Quark.

I got an email with a link to a video a long time ago that showed how to remove a person from a group photo and replace this person with an image of them from another photo. It does not seem to be in the videos on my Phtotshop elements 9 list within the program. Any link to this video so I can save it and rewatch it?

if I cut a part of an image out, and want to replace with another image, is there any way to know the correct size (in pixels) to make it match the deleted image portion?
I tried Properties but it gave me the dimensions for the entire image.
And I have no copy of the deleted portion to check its size because I enlarged it when I placed it originally in the entire image and didn't save it separately.

I have clipped a photo to remove the background and now want to replace one of the images in a website gallery. I know I can delete the original image and replace it but is there a way I can drag my new picture over the old one and replace it like I can when I drag an image from the Bitmap Gallery?
I presume it isn't possible as the original image is a square or rectangle that is filled with the bitmap and the clipped image is an irregular shape.
I am using XDP 6

I've just used image trace to get a three colour vector of a photograph. I want to replace the three colours in the image with colours from my brand's style guide. At the moment, they're thre shades of a kind of muddy brown.
How I do this? The three colours in the image aren't showing in the swatch menu and I don't really know what I'm doing.

If I have a bitmap image that has been cropped to an irregular shape (say a star or pear etc) is there any way in CorelDraw to replace the image without having to crop and position the bitmap all over again. I thought It would be as simple as clicking edit bitmap & pasting the new image once in corel photo paint but that does not seem to be the case.
edit: also is it possible to swap the image with a higher resolution version.

I'm using Adobe Photoshop 9.0 cs2 and I need help with a large color replacement project. I'm an amature video game designer making a level for the classic P.C. game Doom 2 and I'm creating a new weapon and monster for the level I'm creating. For the monster I plan to alter the colors of the frames of the original monster and change the dimensions of key features.
use an indexed color mode that were extracted into individual .png files.
Today I made the big mistake of changing the frames over to RGB mode so I can use the color replacement tools available in that mode. I should have done one frame first then convert it back to indexed color mode because the frames look terrible when converted back from RGB mode. What it is doing is using all the colors of the RGB color spectrum to replace various colors. Unfortunately what this means is that its using colors that are not in the color palette I loaded in the original pic and when I convert it back it looks terrible. There are enough colors in the doom color palette to produce the look I'm after but the automated conversion process from RGB to indexed colors does not pic the best matches in most cases. By doing this I am taking an image consisting of about 150 different shades of color down to about 75 different shades of color. I cant find any color replacement tools for indexed colored images and its going to take me forever to do all frames pixel by pixel so I need one of two things to be able to accomplish what I need. Either a better way of converting these images back, or some tool I can actually use in indexed color mode. If there is a way to select a pixel and change all other pixels of that exact color to a new color then I can just do it pixel by pixel that way. I need something here or I'm going to lose hours of work. If there is a way to load my color table into RGB mode to limit what colors it uses that might work too.
I would just leave the pics in RGB mode if the game im editing for could use that format but unfortunatly anything I convert to RGB will have to be converted back to 256 colors for it to work in the game.

I know the basics of Photoshop so you can say I'm not a newbie but I find myself using it in ways I never have before. I'm in CS3 and I have to be able to slice up .psds for the web, I know about user slices, smart guides, naming slices, optimizing and saving for the web but the one thing I cannot figure out is the very beginning steps in doing this. For instance, let's say someone sends me an image of a webpage that is in any other format but a .psd. Reason I bring this up is tutorials always start with layered documents already in a .psd format and I need to know how to save the slices I make as layers from scratch. Now I'm looking at a (example) .tiff image of a doc I need to slice up so first thing I would do is to save as a .psd correct? or not? NOW here's where I'm missing information as I have tried to save the main image as a .psd file and when I go slice layers out of it and name the layers they do not show up in the palette, they are saved as part of the background.

I am looking to slice a website up in Photoshop, I have created my design in photoshop for 800 x 600. I think this size is wrong as i haven't allowed for the scroll bar in the browser...
I notice i can use the slice tool, or slice from layers etc.
What about place holders i have left for "pure" text which of course i will enter in my html editor? But i should imagine i want it to export with the text place holder in the html file otherwise the html with the graphics are not going to line up?
Also i have created a box with rounded corners, i presume i should only be exporting the four corners and using some trickery to lower file size..

I have a psd file and there are a bunch of caption bubbles all on their own layer. How can I easily slice each bubble to their own new .png image file? All the bubbles are spaced nicely and they don't overlap.
Can't I automate some of the process?

creating the slices (attaches is the design in photoshop). In particular I'd need some clues on correctly creating the rounded rectangle around the main content. (I'd like to use a fixed layout).
I've seen that there's a technique to define the four corners and repeat the main element so that the rectangle can be adapted to the dimension of the content.
