Apr 15, 2009i want to make some hdr photos but can't afford photomatix. is there any freeware or replacement to get the same end result?

Photoshop :: 5.1 / Windows 8 - Can't See Plugins (Photomatix Or Nik Silver)
Aug 22, 2013I recently got a new computer with Windows 8, and re-installed Photoshop 5.1, Photomatix Pro, and Nik Silver. But when I go into Photoshop, I can't see Photomatix or Nik Silver. I've moved both of them to the Plug-Ins folder and then rebooted, but it doesn't seem to work.

Jul 19, 2013Why I can't merge raw files in photomatix if I select them and take them into photomatix from lightroom. I can take raw files from bridge and merge them in photomatix. When I try this in Lightroom where I would rather do everything unless I need PS, it makes duplicate files in tif, psd, or jpg depending on how its preferences are set. Also when I select photos and tell it to merge them using photomatix the only option it allows me to select is edit a copy with lightroom adjustments. The other two are grayed out! Then I'm left with an HDR photo that I wanted but just a bunch of useless added files lightroom had to create to do it.
I can select the same raw files but use bridge and it will take the raw files into photomatix and I don't end up with a bunch of files I don't want. But then I have an HDR image that isn't imported into lightroom. Is there a work around or is this just the way it is?
Lightroom :: Error Messages Using LR5 With Photomatix Pro And HDR Efex Pro 2
Feb 19, 2014Previously, my LR5 worked seamlessly with both the most current versions of Photomatix Pro and HDR Efex Pro 2. Then neither program worked. Photomatix would accept images from LR5 would process them sometimes but wouldn't send them back to LR5. Sometimes Photomatix would allert me that some of the exported images had the same data - not true. Sometimes 2+,1+, 0, 2- & 1- brackets were interpreted as having a 3+ image. With the Nik software I'd get messages like "Launching external application failed" or "The command 'HDR Efex Pro 2' is not currently available. I contacted Google and we determined that the Nik software worked when opened in Photoshop CS5. It appears that LR5 may be the culprit. I uninstalled and reinstalled LR5. Nothing changed. The Photomatix and Efex Pro 2 plugins reappeared without me doing anything so I wasn't sure I got a clean reinstall.

Jul 4, 2012If I create a tiff from Photomatix, whether it's 8 bit or 16 bit, PSP X4 just can't handle it.

Lightroom :: How To Make Photomatix TIFF Show In Previous Import Photos
Apr 25, 2012Just started using Photomatix pro. Used autoimport to reimport into LR 3. Can only see Photomatix tiffs when switch to all photographs. This pulls up all 8000 plus photos rather than just the file folder in which I am working. Is there a way to get these tiffs to show in previous import photos?

I tried using the "replace color" but this defined an area to modify not a specific RGB value.

Sep 25, 2006I have an image in which I am trying to replace the black coloring in a flag to pink, but the replacement isn't going through. The flag only becomes a greyish color.
To replace the color I used Image--->Adjustments--->Replace Color and then selected the black with the eyedropper, and change the color on the bottom to the pink.

Dec 9, 2005I need to change a solid black shape to a brown color, but the color replacement can't change b&w to actual colors right?
Well I know I could select it and just fill it, but it gets too pixelated; the edges on the shape are a little feathered.
When I do the color replacement tool the value changes nicley, but why can't the color change also...is there any method that can change this black shape to brown without having to cleanup the edges?

Aug 2, 2008I cannot find my copy of CS2 to install on new machine. It was actually an upgrade from CS that I had downloaded...somewhere...I called Adobe and was told they cannot supply a replacementI would need to upgrade to CS3 (which I'm not interested in at the moment). I find this hard to believe...have I been informed correctly? Any ideas how to obtain a replacement (not interested in cracks, btw)?
OR can someone tell me the exact filename of the original download so I can refine my search on my old PC?

Jun 3, 2012I am trying to change a silver to a deep reddish brown but when I try the colour is off..Here is what I have tried.
I have used the colour replacement tool as well as the Hue tool but like I said it produces a variation of the original colour and the new colour.I have also played around with desaturation but with the same colour I end up with a pink. This was just a shot in the dark.

Aug 28, 2013My issue is I have a panel that is a gradient background and I need to change the color from yellow to blue. I have successfully changed the solid color to 0072b9 in the top left using the Color Replacement tool, however cannot work out how to change the rest of the image.
The "swoosh" in the middle of the image seems to be a different layer perhaps? Every time I change it, it goes purple and changes the rest of the image. I wanted to fade out 0072b9. I tried to replace the more faded part towards the middle / bottom right to 5ACCFF which is getting lighter but it just dirties up.

Jan 17, 2005I have very recently started using Photoshop CS.
When I tried to use it a second time, instead of replacing my color that I click on with black (my chosen color) it changes it to gray. When moving the tool over other areas, it grays them out as well. It looks as if the tool takes all color away.
I have the correct tool settings: Mode: Color, Sampling: Once, Limits: Discontinuous, Tolerance: 30% and Anti-aliased is ticked.
I have also reinstalled Photoshop, but it still didn't work.

Feb 8, 2009the Color Replacement Tool in PS CS4 but I can't make it work. I thought it should allow me to pick a color as the background color and replace that color with whatever I define as the foreground color. Does anyone have a good tutorial on this tool?
I'm actually trying to turn the background of a picture of my grandson black eliminating the brown blanket he's laying on. Is there an easier way than color replacement to do this?

Aug 10, 2009I'm planning to do some giclee prints involving scans of original watercolour paintings of botanical subjects. Because of the nature of the subject, 90% of the content of the image is actually the original art paper with nothing on it.
The 'nothing' still has a colour of course (creamy off-white), and when I print on to a similarly-coloured fine art inkjet paper I get a darker background than the original because I'm effectively finishing up with two lots of background. Is there a way I can make the background a lighter shade that doesn't involve use of one of the selection tools?

Feb 26, 2009I have to replace my mobo and I'm wondering if that will force me to activate again. I know I'll have to reactivate windows but atleast with windows I'll be able to boot for 3 days without reactivating.
On CS3 I thought you had to deactivate before you could reactivate and I'm concerned I might not be able to deactivate after changing the mobo.

Nov 17, 2013I am trying to figure out a way to globally replace/swap one color for another within a document. My document would have multiple layers made up of solid color fills, text layers (possibly multiple colors within the copy block), and even possibly the color put into a bitmap import.
I am looking to better a workflow process in photoshop for updating website/interactive files. Sometimes this might work for updating global font color, layer effects(stroke/drop-shadows...), color layers, etc. The color swap that i am looking for is similar to if you were to update a swatch in InDesign. It would update everything using that specific color.

Sep 26, 2012I use Photoshop CS3 and have multi layer PSD with which I am creating web graphics. The PSD is set up to export layer comps to files to produce a standardised set of graphics. The website has a standardised palette of 4 colours.
The vector and raster graphics within the PSD use these standard colours, however when we apply the colour scheme of a new client to the document, I have to go through the document and manually change all the colours.
I would like to find a way to globally and directly substitute one colour for another by effectively substituting one hex code for another, thus avoiding editing the layers one by one.
