When trying to run Photoshop CS 5 I get an error message (stopping launch) saying I need to install Java SE 6, however Java SE 6 is no longer supported by Apple for security reasons. I have Java SE 7 (Oracle) installed but Photoshop seems to be unaware.
I have spent a few hours searching for how this can be fixed in a way that does not involve installing an old unsupported version of Java (i.e. SE 6) over the top or in place of the latest version of Java (i.e. SE 7).
I see many people have the same problem, but there appears to be no clear answer from Adobe staff.
So big waste of time.
The more difficult the update process is, the less often people will update their products, ultimately this will impact on Adobe's bottom line.
I am designing a very simple game, based on the game of Battleships, and to begin the build I'll be needing a grid of (approx) 30-50 squares, which will then form the (online) board of the game - how can I go about this?
How can I run Illustrator without Java? Is there a Java-dependent plugin I can turn off, a resource I can delete, or some way to coax it into performing the function I bought it to perform?
(I will not be installing Java on my machines. I wish Adobe had told me that the software I bought was reliant on obsolete middleware.)
I want to write a Java program that mimics the plasma filter. However, my first few (as in 30-40) attempts have not been very successful. If GIMP provides algorithms or source code for the filters anywhere?
I am trying to combine graphics with source code in java that is why I started using 3ds max. I created 2 dices that fall on a floor(I want to create a board game which uses dices in order for players to move).I now want to do the following:
1)Improve the dices scene in order to fall in random ways each time so that every time the result is random
2)Is there any way to "connect" the dice result with my potential program in java? That is, can the program detect what the dices showed and transfer that result into the game(move the player).Of course the implementation of the source code would be very easy given that the results of the dices are known, but I want to know if there is any way to get these from the above animated creation.
I have CS5 full, then upgrade to CS5.5, then to CS6Have only in 1 PC Now, if I want to installed in another PC (laptop) Do I need to install everything?

I have a student edition of CS5 Extended. I have been running it on a Linux Ubuntu system with virtural box 32 bit only. I happy to announce I now have a new PC with windows 7 with an upgrade to windows 8 that I can purchase. I was wondering since I will now be able to use the 64 bit Photoshop on my new system what is the procedure to get my serial number for my new PC? I do not know where I saved it. I still have the disk nd the boxWhen I install it tomorrow (Monday Oct 22) Also Should I upgrade to CS5.5?
I have a problem with installing any Adobe CS5 programs on my Mac OS X 10.6.8. I successfully installed a Master Collection CS5 edition that we use in my school. But then I had to reinstall all of them and after installing it says it was successfull but all I find in my "Applications" folder is just folders of the applications and nothing to launch inside. I thought at first that maby this had something to do with cashe so I cleared all cashe and manually looked for more files that maby would have remained on the computer but I could not find any. What can I do to reinstall it successfully?
Our laptops will have CS4, but desktops can only accept CS3. My teacher laptop, that I use for demos, has 4GB RAM and can handle both CS3 and 4. Can I install both or will I have operating problems?
When i click on the setup file to begin installation from downloaded Photoshop CS3 program a window appears as if its going to start installing then it dissapears and nothing happens. I have turned off firewall and uninstalled my antivirus but its still the same problem.
I have been trying to install photoshop CS4 extended all day with no success. I have Windows Vista Home Premium, and more than enough space on the computer, have deleted my existing version of CS2, and It keeps coming up and saying that it was checking system profile (or something like that) and now I have just tried it again and it comes up with several errors, the first one is MAIN_FILE_VERSION. The second one is PRODUCT_REGISTRY_PARENT. And the last one is PRODUCT_REGISTRY_KEY. I am trying to install the student eddition, and have sent in my application into adobe already. I am usually really good with computers, but this is just running into a hole for me, and I really need photoshop as I have a shoot tomorrow and need to edit it.
Since installing Photoshop CS3 I am not able to attach files to emails. I get completely thrown out of the internet. Getting into the internet and email works fine. The only problem is when I try to attach a file, then I'm thrown completely out. And this is not even being in the CS3 program at all at the time.
The company I've just started working for has gotten a copy of CS2 with a 5 user license for the 4 machines. I managed to talk them into letting me use the 5th license at home (I work from home from time to time). Woohoo
However I've been trying to install it on my 1.8Ghz AppleMac G5 with 512Mb AM 120Mb free HD space and running Mac OSX 10.3.9 and It won't.
I run the installer program it asks for my admin password and then calls up a dialog box saying...
"All Adobe applications must be closed before your new software can be installed. Please close all Adobe applications that are running and then restart the installer."
And makes me quit the installer.
There is NOTHING running.
I have dumped ALL existent Adobe software.
I have created a new User Account and tried from there.
I have safe booted and tried like that.
I have repaired my Disk Permissions
I have created Disk Images of all the disks and tried installing from the desktop.
I own the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Web Premium and I just purchased the Adobe Production Premium CS4. I just rebuilt the machine with Vista 64 and am about to reinstall all the software. I'm trying to figure out if I can skip Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3 and Version Cue CS3 when I install the CS3 suite and just use the ones that came with CS4 or is this going to cause any issues? (i.e. should I also install the CS3 versions?). I was told to make sure I install the Flash CS3 before the Flash CS4, but what about Photoshop and Illustrator?
I had an old cs2 version of photoshop which I am upgrading to the student version of cs4 extended. I receieved the disc today, so I have uninstalled cs2 and put the cs4 disc in. Nothing is happening...........there don't seem to be any instructions as to how to install it.
I have recently received Creative Suite 3 Standard for Windows. I currently have installed on my PC Photoshop CS2. Can I install Creative Suite 3 over Photoshop CS2 without first uninstalling Photoshop CS2? (I do not have any of the other applications in CS3 on my computer.)
For different reasons i would like to keep Photoshop CS5 AND install Photoshop CS6. is it possible to install Photoshop CS6 and also keep Photoshop CS5 along with the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection?
(My problem is a really a write-error while trying to save for web in Photoshop CS5. I´ve tried all kinds of solutions from the Adobe forum and other places without luck. Last things I did was to make a new admin account and test it. That worked. Also I tried uninstalling Photoshop CS4 (where save for web acctually worked on my real user account). Still no luck. So now im left with the choice of reinstalling CS4 or installing CS6 to get the save for web dialog working again)
My photoshop's installer is not mounting. I can hear the disc running in the macbook, but nothing happens. I'm using lion, and its my first time so i don't know if its the same as on snow leapord.
I am having difficultly installing OnOne plug-ins (Mask Pro 4, and the free versions of Photoframe and Perfect Effects) into Photoshop CS5. The OnOne site help gives an updated installer for Mask Pro 4, and says to first remove the old one. How do I uninstall it? What is the trick to installing the correct one?
