View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been importing Microsoft Word text just using the clipboard. That is, I'll open Microsoft Word, open my document, select all, copy, and then go to InDesign and paste. InDesign gives me a text block with my text and I just re-size the columns. The text comes in all weird and I have to stylize it, of course. Sometimes I get some junk like nonbreaking characters and other hidden characters which screw me up until I figure out what's going on. My question is: what's the best way to import Microsoft Word text that will introduce the fewest errors?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to make a pdf to upload my book to Createspace. I've read that I can format the book in Word 2010 using one of their templates.
I've also read that it won't handle photos well.
So I'm wondering if it's possible to import formatted text from Word into Xara Designer Pro 6, then add photos, then export a pdf file.
I tried importing one formatted page (I'm doing 6X9 inches) into a 6x9 page in Xara, but it pastes the whole thing as a lump that is the wrong size, way too big, and I would have to try to shrink it...
Is there a way to do this simply, that would be accurate for every page of a book?
I am using version CS6, I would like to know if there is an easy way to import a MS word document into InDesign. The document is about 1000 pages and contains text, images and tables.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to import a table from Excel into Indesign but can't manage it. The internet is full of the tip to use File-->Place and then choose import options, sheet, cell range, formatted table. This does work, sort of, except the Excel table has no numbers and is formatted all whacky and doesn't have the right color.

View 7 Replies View Relatedwe recently were trying to import an excel table via data link function. Initially this works fine and the table appears in the drawing however when we want to break the link by deleting it in the data link table autocad tells me that the link is in use. We routinely do this in autocad mechanical 2010. The reason we do this is to be able to bring in the table and preserve formatting. How can we easily delete the data link in 2010 LT?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to link an AutoCAD table to an Excel file with the first method described in this page:

I know the filename of the Excel spreadsheet and the range as well.
Is there a way to make a script that links the table and then detach the link after that ?
The angle or radius are outside the table boundaries. I have used bend tables before and have not run into this. See screenshot. What I don't understand is that in the error dialog box the Thickness is correct the Radii are correct and the Angle is correct except it is showing a -90 degrees. Is that the problem? The negetive? Why is it showing a negative number. I can't change the way the part is formed. The problem seems to be with the lower left hand curl. It does go ahead and flatten it, but I don't trust the results when I have the three errors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn our company, we put Excel tables in our drawings. The reason we've chosen for Excel-tables is that we can adjust the layout of the table quite easily. These tables consist of grouped cells in a particular company-specific layout. We select the range of the desired cells, copy and paste them in our AutoCAD drawing. This drawing is sent to our customers. The disadvantage of this method is, that when our customers (who use CAD-software of other brands) open the dwg, they don't see the table, but some kind of picture of the table.
Is there a way to 'explode' the excel-table, but keep the specific layout of the table? For attributes in blocks there's the 'Explode Attributes'-command in the Express-tools, but is there something similar for Excel-tables?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
I have a part where I have placed a number of table driven iFeatures. These features generate parameters in the model that I can see in the parameter table. I am trying to find a way to have these iFeature parameters show up in the hole table in my drawing.
By 'exporting' the parameters, I have been able to get the values to show in notes and drawing view labels but I can't find a way to add them as a 'New Property' in my hole table.

I'm using Microsoft Word 2010. When I save the document I use Save as > PDF

I created a few images for headers inside of Photoshop CS6. I've tried quite a few resolutions (600, 300, 220, 150, 96, 72) and I've also done all of the tips out there for preventing compression (going into settings > advanced > turning compression off, clicking image going to format preventing compression, and also the save as > tools > 220 dpi/use document compression).
Â
I've also tried a ton of different file types: Jpg, png, gif, tiff, and pdf.
Â
None of this works and my images keep getting compressed when it comes out in PDF.
Â
How do I get this to stop compressing my images?
Â
P.S. The image looks TOTALLY fine inside of the document. But as soon as I export it looks compressed and choppy.

I had a professional photographer photograph drawings in RAW. He gave me a DVD with TIFF images he created in Photoshop. I opened these TIFF files in Photoshop CS6, cropped, sized and rotated to landscape. I saved it as a PDF. I then opened Word (Windows 7). I inserted the Photoshop PDF. It looked terrible! Lines are missing or gray. If I print them out directly from Photoshop (not as PDF) they come out perfect. But my publisher wants everything in ONE document (Word).
I am trying to create a clip art for word. I have an image which i open with photoshop. I select the truck wanted from the photograph, I want to save the image of the truck only (subtracting the background such as sky, pavement, other cars and ect.) so that I may insert it into a word document wraping text around the jagged edges of the truck, not a bunch of squared off white or transparent space for a brochure. I have CS5.5 version.
