View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen applying the lighting effect filter to a photo I get thin horizontal lines across the image. Not the screen just the image. It does not happen with any other filter and does not happen on other machines. This machine is running VISTA.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the spherical filter in the horizontal mode in order to narrow the center of my picture slightly, the filter creates evenly spaced horizontal lines. Is there a way to avoid this? Here is the funny thing. If I rotate the image 90 degrees, then apply the filter using "vertical only" the lines do not appear. The lines only appear when I use "horizontal only"!

View 38 Replies View Relatedhow do I make straight lines? Horizontal Lines? Vertical Lines? Curvs? I read many tutorials and i am afraid that I am doing it the wrong way, my way is to drag a guide to where i want the line to be at and trace the guide with the brush tool...
View 2 Replies View RelatedApply filter > Lighting effects to an image (300 ppi RGB) and when photoshop renders the lighting, there is a horizontal line through the image. It is not a screen or video issue, it is in the image and has to be retouched out like corrupt image. not a transparency issue, tried different file formats, flattened image first, etc.
WHY?
Had this happen before, but now in Cloud V6 is really aggrevating. People have been posting about this for at least 3 versions with no answers.

From time to time I observe the following phenomenon:
I want to apply the lighting filter to a graphic. And nothing happens. The dialogue window won´t open, no effect. Only the history list registers: "lighting effects". I think I remember the problem from earlier versions.
What takes it to make the filter work?
I have a scene set up with vray as the renderer, hdri maps set up for the environment and other lights in the scene to represent headlights on cars. None of which are animated.
However every time I press the render button it goes back and forth between rendering the scene normally, and then once I press it again it will render the scene with strange lighting and then normally again. and this is without changing ANYTHING, including the frame number that I'm rendering on.

Lighting Filter is not working. When you run the filter the circular ring/point does not appear to adjust the light. It is totally missing. You can adjust the settings but the filter never runs. After attempting to run the filter I tried to go back to my workspace. It would not reset to the default Essential workspace.
The other workspace were OK. I closed and reopened the application and my workspace was restored. I tried running my GPU settings in advanced normal and basic. None of the settings worked.
In Photoshop CS4 and CS5, it's a real PIA to have to restart PS in 32-bit mode in order to use the Lighting Effects filter (FILTER>RENDER>LIGHTING EFFECTS). Has this been addressed in CS6?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm very used to using the Lighting Effects Filter which I can't seem to use with files that have gone through Nik software plug-ins. Any video tutorial or other educational material which I can use to find a way to emulate the lighting effects filter? I'm using CS5 V12.1 x64. I'm not a professional so upgrading to CS6 is not feasible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a JPEG file from my mark iii into CS6, I try to start a new layer and then add the lighting effects filter. CS6 crashes (the little effects comes up on the screen and the little blue circle goes round and round). Nothing happens, but if I check task manager it says photoshop is not running.
I have windows, 16GB ram, and am using a small percent of my memory.
How do I see if I need to update my video card and how do I do that?
The lighting effects filter is unresponsive. It appears on my images with the accompanying controls in the layers panel. However, when I try to use the on screen controls, they do not respond.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo ive recently got PHotoshop CC, been using it without a hitch for a week. Then the time came to use lighting effects, but turns out they were grayed out:
I dont know why this is happening. Im in RGB mode, with 8 bit/channel. One thing i did notice though is that my graphics card does not show up in photoshop:
