I wonder what effects the .XMP files have on Photoshop applications. Should I keep them when working in the OS (WIN7) or chuck them? What effects would deleting XMP have?
View 1 RepliesI am using PSE 9. I go to organizer, open a photo to edit, go to edit, edit photo, then close photo. Then I go back to organizer and photo. The photo is replaced with what looks like a "cracked" file. Is there a way to finish your edit or finalize it or something?
View 33 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to Elements 12 from version 6 and find that if I select a file in the organizer, select "Edit with Photoshop Elements editor", carry out the editing and save the file with the boxes for "include in elements organizer" and "Save in Version Set with original" checked the edited photo is not automatically included in the organizer nor stacked. On returning to the Organizer it tells me that a new photo has been found in the watched folders and I have to import it and stack it manually.

I previously downloaded Elements 11 Editor from Mac iTunes Store, this version does not come with Organizer. I then found I had a copy of organizer with Premiere Elements 11. After install I can use both products fine, but cannot use edior to edit my photos from the Organizer. The message "the feature you selected requires adobe photoshop elements" appears.
I am not able to go from organizer in to editor. I'm about to return the program for my money
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first installed elements 12 everything was fine. Now it's not. I can run Organizer but cannot start Editor from Organizer. I cannot start Editor at all. From the start screen the Barber's' pole shows for a few seconds but nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling, from the disc, and reinstalling several times, still nothing!

After upgrading frm Windows XP to Windows 7, my Elements Organizer - in "Folder Location" mode is not updating with ANY changes frm Editor. I'm checking "include in the Elements Organizer" on SAVE OPTIONS. Changed file names are updating to the physical file. In effect the Editor is NOT Working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can edit an image in Editor to where it looks great, to include the contrast, brightness, shadows, etc. When I send it back to the Organizer, it look much too contrasty and dark. When I use the same images in a slideshow originating in Organizer, they still look too contrasty. Is there a way to correct this? I'm using PSE 10 on a Windows 7 -64 bit machine.

This used to work on elements 8.I used the elements 11 edit preferences menu, and it wouldn't accept my browse of photoshop.exe (the CS version).
This should be an easy task and I am familiar with editing a photo taken from the organizer and then returning it to an album or folder. My problem is with a photo sent to me as an attachment to an email in another program (often Picasa). This photo can be opened in Elements Editor and worked with in the usual fashion but I am stumped on how to then move it in my Organizer and appropriate folder or album.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE 8.0 for three or four years now, and I have never experienced any problems with it. Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it. If it matters, I use Windows 7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedInstalled PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from PSE5 to PSE12. The installation went smoothly and my old Catalog was imported without a hitch. After my first test run to edit a file, I did a "Save As" in a version set with the original. I then closed the file, but when I went to the organizer, it was not there. When I go to the folder in Windows Explorer, the edited file is present - I just can't get it to appear (alone or in a version set) in the Organizer. (FYI, I am running Windows 8).

It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded from pse9 to 11 and after selecting a photo in organiser then viewing in full screen and enlarging to 100% then exiting, organiser loses the highlight and reverts to the first photo. This also occurs when the photo is edited and saved you have to find where the editedd photo has gone to, it is time consuming when you have a large number of photos in the organiser. pse9 did not do this.Also pse11 does not sort photos properly by the shot date especially when the photos ard edited
