Photoshop :: Restoring Computer - Can Reinstall CS4
Jun 3, 2012
I need to restore my computer to factory settings. I don't have my disk for CS4 anymore, but I do have the serial number. Is there a way to download it after my computer has restored? Or is there a way to save it somehow?
I need to reinstall my Photoshop CS4 after I restored my iMac. Tech support said I need to get the link to download at this forum since the version I am using is old.
i have just bought a new computer with windows 8 and installed elements version 12; my old laptop had elements version 8 on it and I did a full backup of the catalog to an external hard drive. I have gone through the restore catalog process but cant see any photos either in the organiser or in my pictures. I did the convert step but it said it conversion failed and suggested repairing the backup with previous version which is not possible as the computer was a work machine which has now been wiped and rebuilt and I dont have version 8 anymore!! when it did the convert step it only seemed to find breeze files.
I currently am using Elements 9 with Windows 7. I will be getting a new computer with Windows 8.1. I have 5 catalogs. All are backed up on external hard drives. I plan to install Elements 9 on the new computer and then restore the catalogs. The catalogs are in chronological order. Should I restore them in any particular order, and if so, should I do the more recent catalog or the oldest one first?
I guess I should also ask if Elements 9 will be compatible with Windows 8.1.
I recently pruchased a new computer, and didn't know that I had to deactivate Photoshop Elements 7 from my old computer. I removed all the programs from the old computer and no longer have access to it.
All I want to do is to install Elements on my new computer.
I have a DELL XPS 1330. The computer stopped working while I was visiting another country. The support people there had me reinstall VISTA on my computer thus ALL my programs were taken away.
Well, turns out that was not the problem. 2 weeks later the same problem happened. The laptop is not repaired and I want to reinstall my CS3 Extended version. Can I just insert the disc and reinstall it to my computer?
I am pretty computer illiterate on some things but can follow directions when they are given. I have not installed the program on any other computer b/c I thought it was registered to me on my laptop and did not want to mess that up for when mine was finally repaired.
I had to refresh my computer and it uninstalled my Adobe products. How do I get them back. I don't have the option through cloud. It only gives the option to upgrade.
How to reinstall photoshop CC. My computer close down under installation, so all files are not installed, but AAM shows that the program is installed, but thats not right. I also tried to intall from photoshop.exe, and get the message, that some files are missing.
I have CS5 installed on a desktop computer that crashed and I can't get it working to deactivate CS5. I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.
I started a new computer with LR5, and it runs fine. But, when I imported my pics from a previous computer running LR4, all the pics loaded into the new LR without any tags or processing. How can I get that info without having ot reprocess thousands of pictures?
I have an old pic of my mom and dad from the newspaper from their wedding pic and I was trying to make it look better.. I can't seem to get it any better than this.. I dont have the original or even the newspaper,
I have CS6 installed on a Windows 8 system. The other day I needed to install an older version, CS2 to test a few things. This immediately changed all the Photoshop icons for things like Actions, Plugins, Filters, etc., to the CS2 icons.
After testing I uninstalled CS2 assuming all the CS6 icons would return. They didn't and now I'm left with blank white icons for things like Actions, Filters, Plugins, etc.
How can I get my CS6 icons back? Will uninstalling - reinstalling CS6 restore them? Is there an easier way? I need them back as I'm writing some documents that require screen shots and I need those icons back.
I've recently started using Photoshop and have been given some old pictures of family members. Is it possible to restore images to a perfect picture and maybe even add color?
The top image looks like a negative but it's actually a print from an old, old roll of 35mm film. Most of the photos printed as faded B&Ws, but some printed like this. I'd like to restore the photo as best I can, but I'm not getting good results (second image). I first inverted the image and then desaturated. Then I did adjustments with curves. The resulting image is confusing - the light source seems backwards.
If there's an object with a semi-transparent part (without editable layer mask of course), is there any way to make it opaque again without ruining its original pixels?
(For those who know Corel PhotoPaint: I'm looking for the equivalent of "paint on transparency" mode)
I have a picture that I need to be restored. The entire picture has "gone yellow" from age and I was hoping I could use Photoshop to restore it. I tried using auto-level, auto-color, and auto-contrast but they don't help too much.
My computer crashed today while photoshop CS5.1 was saving/writing to a psd file. When I started my computer back up, and tried to open the file again, It only displayed 1 layer shown as a corrupted image (As Shown Below - the Red Image). When I click on the file in the "Open" window (The Gray Image Below), the psd shows up correctly in the Preview window but doesnt show correctly when opened.
I have lost all of my layers, by the way I have worked on this psd for weeks and I need some way to recover it. I have tried "corrupted psd recovery programs", they did not work. I have tried forums - I found no answer. I have tried locating the .tmp file but it is no where to be found.
Does photoshop have a cache or a history? maybe for previously saved versions of psd files? Or does Windows 7, 32 Bit have a file recovery method? I have tried a windows 7 recovery method but it only recovers files from previous restore points that may be weeks old. This is very important that I do my best to fix this psd file or at least recover some layers, I have put in too much time and effort.
I have a scanned image. As you can see there is a line that above it the color has faded. IS there a technique / command(s) to restore the faded colors to the ones below the line?
restoring my brushes, in taht I have been adding brushes to my brush palette. I've added and deleeted brushes. I want to essentially start all over with the Photoshop CS5 basic brushes. I have clear out all of my brushes and tried to restore them, however, I noticed that the star brushes are not there. I can't seem to find them.
through a process that will 1) let me clear out all of my brushes ... and ... 2) restore CS5 basic brushes (which includes the start brushes)
I usually use a dual monitor setup (Photoshop on one and all of my pallets on the other), but occasionally, when traveling, I need to use a single monitor. But then, when I get back to my 2-monitor setup, all of my pallet locations are lost.
Is there a file where the PS pallet locations are stored (like and ini file maybe?) that I could save elsewhere on my computer to easily restore them?
I am having trouble restoring this photograph of my grandparents wedding picture. I've tried using the clone and healing brush tools but they haven't worked. I am using Photoshop CS3 and found an 'Action' that is supposed to be useful for removing creases and cracks. It is called 'de-crack'.
I'm trying to restore a very old photo in sepia. It has stains and discoloration on some part of the image. I need help on the basic steps for this project.
I have been doing some ancestry research and came across a document I was looking for for a long time. However, the document is faded and I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what it says. Here are links to the 2 pages of the document: URL......
I am working on restoring an image damaged by flooding. All the surface damage appears to be in the blue channel. I know there is a way to replace the blue channel but can find no decent explanations on how to do it. I am working in PS CC.
I am just learning photoshop and was trying to restore an old photograph. I did a lot of the repair work like removing dust, dirt, cracks and stains but I am having a hard time with the color correction. Spent a bit of time trying to manipulate the RGB curves but cold not get it right.
Long-time PS user here, however for 2 years now my home version of Photoshop CS4 seemingly axed the Timeline portion of its animation panel. I've sort of accepted it until now, but recently I wanted to try some hand-drawn animation. As you can see this a significant speed bump. How to restore/reopen that portion of Photoshop, or am I just crazy in thinking CS4 ever had it to begin with?
