(ctrl+option+drag) stopped resizing my PS brushes and now just pulls the app frame around. How to turn it back on? (this is the resize brush feature + opacity using the ctrl+option keys and a drag up/down, left/right).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to re-size images that are large than 1MB in order to put them on our MLS site.
My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?
I am using CS6.
I am interested in grouping and sorting brushes according to size, shape, whatever.
Right now when I add a brush library, they just stack on top of one another.
For example let's say I have a round brush with a 10 diameter, then next to it a round brush with a 20 diameter. If I make a 15, it goes to the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all around. How can I group them?
I suspect I would have to make my own brush library with my brushes how I want them, then save that and load it?
How do you rearrange the brushes in the brushes box?
I've seen they are arranged by name, so how do you rename the brushes since renaming the file name don't rename the brush.
How can I resize an image (make smaller) without losing its detail or quality?

The problem I now have is that I only want to use a certain (smaller) part of the picture. I can do this using the select option in every single frame, but isn`t there a way to select the part directly in the gif so that the selection is made in every frame??

View 4 Replies View RelatedI designed a form in photoshop for somebody. I chose A4 size for the canvas from the preset sizes, but the problem is that I need to send it to the other person to print (I don't have a printer and they don't have photoshop).
I thought I'd save it as an image and send it to them to print out, but the image is huge (image->image size shows the document size as 21*29.7 cm but the pixel dimensions as 2480*3508 px).
My only choices (in the dropdown box), for changing the image size requires me to use either pixels or percent.
I'm a bit confused as to why A4 size isn't A4 when you convert it to an image. Please could someone give me some pointers as to how I can change my PSD to an image that is A4 size,
I am trying to get the images on the website to look as sharp as it does when I finish them.
I have tried resizing but I am missing something and the lose quality.
how do I resize an image in a layer by dragging it with the mouse? Can I get it to resize while retaining its original shape? I wanna fit some things together visually and I don't wanna screw around with numbers.

I have the mask visible in the first screenshot. And the 2nd screenshot shows how it disappears when I try to resize.
For years I was using an older version of PS. I am new to CS6 Photoshop. I cannot figure out how to resize a text box. When I chose the box with the text tool, the borders of the box do not show up. To see the border I must hold down the option + command keys. I cannot change the size of the box without scaling the type.
Also, when I click the box with the move tool, I cannot see the border of the text box. I cannot even copy the text box.
I can not resize my pictures once i insert them into my job nor can I resize my text box.?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Mountain Lion Photoshop CS4 won't allow batching several images to certain folders on our servers.
Photoshop message reads;
The destination is not writable (read-only).
This is something that I've been able to do without a problem in the past and now something has happened where it no longer works. When I insert a picture either into a new blank file or onto another picture and then click on the new picture to resize, it appears that the tool sees only the original document and not the photograph that I've just dragged onto it. It does not show the dotted line selection or the resize handles. Also when I try to use the resize menu option in either canvas or image option it changes the whole document and not the new photograph.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to resize my digital photos to the normal 4x6 inches for printing, but when I enter the parameters to resize, either the width or height automatically changes and I can't get it to 4x6.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has been "bugging" me for a while.
1) Open a raw file (.CR2)
2) output the file to JPG or open directly
===> i.e. the resulting image is 3888 x 2592
3) use Automate > Fit Image
===> i.e. 1200 pixels (reducing the image by a factor of 3.24)
======> The result should be 1200 x 800 pixels
However the batch conversion would be result in 1200 x 801 pixel.
Even if I were to add a step 2.5 as follows
2.5) image > image size > 1200 x 800
After automate > Fit Image (1200) it would still result in 1200 x 801 pixels!
What's broken with photoshop?
The only fix I've stumbled across so far would be to use an external programme to strip all the exif and attached metadata, only then would the "Fit Image" script work.
Having one extra pixel doesn't really matter most of the times, but it's does get on my nerves.
Advice sought: How can I fix this?
I've about three hundred images that I want re-sized (they're currently around 3000 pixels wide).
Is there a way to re-size them all at the click of a button? Can I for instance record an action, and then apply it to all the images at once?
I'm trying to make a desing for threadless.com. The problem is resizing my desing for the submission. There is a four color limit so the best I've been able to do is pick "nearest neighbor" for resample image.
This keeps it at four colors, but it looks really bad. Anything else I've tried blures design and makes it too many colors. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
My question is how can I shrink down a layer (of a car for example) and then enlarge it again without the car beeing pixelized?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I resize an image to a smaller size line and so on dont stay as sharp as they did from the original size....is there a way to prevent this?
Resizing up or down requires a remap of the pixels so there is almost always some interpolation and therefore softening.
But when resizing down you can improve the quality by picking you scale percentage carefully. If you scale to fifty percent, for instance, the interpolation can toss every other
pixel rather than interpreting inbetween them. I have had some improved results (I think)
by using this method. In theory scaling down 25 percent tosses every forth pixel... 75 percent, 3 of out of four. So you might try scaling to on of these first and then doing another scale from there. It may seem counterintuative to do two scale and get a better result but I had a job a few years back that required holding the sharpness of a grid when scaled down. Back then I tested this and it seems to work. But it has been too long and so I wouldn't bet the farm on this one.
The other option is to set the interpolation method to Nearest Neighbor. This method doesn't fade between pixels, it just replicates or tosses the existing ones. It will keep things like lines sharp.
I'm creating a web page in Dreamweaver. I grab the photo I want to use for a header; & open it in Photoshop (CS3). I resize the photo to 7" wide...@ 72ppi, which will be the perfect width for the design I have in mind. I configure the resized photo into Dreamweaver; & it looks small...about 5-1/2" in width. I think...OK...maybe it's something to do w/ Dreamweaver's default resolution...so I preview the page in Internet Explorer...knowing the default browser resolution is 72ppi.
It's still 5-1/2" wide in IE.
Photoshop is telling me it's 7" wide, but it's 5-1/2" wide everywhere else.
