I have gone from using dual monitors to a single monitor. As a result, some of my dialog boxes (such as the Canvas Size) are located off the right, where the second monitor used to be, and I can't access them.
Is there a command that will reset the positions of all the dialog boxes and toolboxes so they appear in my main monitor window again?
I have a .psd file, with many layers. Each layer has a rectangle painted, representing a different object of the whole image (the rest of layer is empty, transparent). I would like to know where is placed each layer, so i can tell the position of each object.
Is this possible with a script?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running PS5 on Mac OS Mountain Lion. I'm having to reset the preferences file a lot at the moment, as some of the presets are going missing from the drop down box.
This is happening in the Levels adjustment dialog box. So, when I reset the preferences file the drop down presets that come with PS5 then reappear. Does the preferences file keep getting corrupted? If so, why?
While my Photoshop CS is loading it gets stuck on "reading text global
resourse" so it takes awhile to finally open. I have also noticed that
its slowing down when processing some photos. I've previously reset my
preferences and thats taken care of the problem. Here lies my current
problem. While PS is loading I press and hold Alt-Control-Shift keys
and nothing happens. Photoshop just contines to load and it never
prompts the "delete Preference settings" box. I'm on a PC and can't
seem to find how to resolve this.

That's all very well and fine, but I'm pretty sure I remember something about a keyboard command that could be used during PS startup to reset preferences. I've looked through 3 or four pages of search results to find it, and no dice.
I use Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 8.0, and I use Windows 7.
The problem: Whenever I use any tools involving the usage of the mouse on the canvas, everytime I click to use the tool, sometimes the cursor seems to 'jump' out of position and I end up unintentionally putting paint on the wrong part of the canvas. And before I release the click, I try to move the mouse around in random directions to no avail; the mouse doesn't respond until I release the mouse. In another similar case, sometimes for a split second the cursor seems to move on its own and it leaves behind a random trail of color. Example: Let's say I wrote down my name 'Andrew' on the canvas. I end up something similar to 'Anc e.", along with a black dot/calligraphic stroke or two unintentionally placed when writing down my name. I had to undo and click several times until I properly got the tool working. I'm working on a certain project in PS
I'm guessing a part of my bare hand is just barely in physical contact with the touchpad?
Why do I have to keep going to preferences to reset every time I open CS6. Plus a made a action and saved it and now it is not there? is this a way to get use to use CC?

But when I try that nothing happens. I have tried resetting my workspace as well but still not working.
I use the line tool (U) quite a bit and for some reason now after I make my first line the next line i try to make is white/negative amd the line tool has the little minus mark (-) next to it. How do i reset it to the (+)? currently i am having to make a line, rasterize the layer and make the next line.

But when I do I want all of the layers in all of the selected groups to move holding therei relative position. e.g. i have a text layer positioned at a certain time in a Clip B. I want to insert another clip right before this clip which will shove Clip B to the right. I want the text layer to move also keeping its relative position to Clip B. The text clip is in a different video group from that of the underlying layer that is being shoved over.Restated, I want to hold all the clips and layers in position so that when I insert another clip everything moves holding their positions relative to each other.

I've had to remake some brushes for my digital art course twice, and now I'll have to do it a third time. This is EXTREMELY DISTRESSING...
This started happening only recently. I can only guess perhaps an update to Windows or something has really jerked up my Photoshop, not sure.
In PE 10, there was a reset tools option. I don't see this in PE 11. Is there a way to do this. If not, bring it back! It was a great tool.

When I open a picture, the picture is at the top left behind the toolbox:
Then I have to move the window with the picture.
What do I have to do in Photoshop, that by opening a picture, it is beside the toolbox automatically?
I am hopeful that somebody who is familiar with Photoshop can help me in my desparation. I've lost the Toolbox in Photoshop 5.0 and can't find it anywhere. Clicking Show/Hide Tools under the "Window" pull-down menu reveals nothing.
Is there a short-cut key to make it appear?
my toolbox has completely disappeared, and i have no idea how to get it back. This is on Photoshop 5.0, i'm currently using CS2 but it would still be useful to be able to use 5.0 aswell. And before you ask, clicking Windows > Show/Hide Tools doesn't work, and as far as i'm aware it's not off screen.

It sometimes helps if I resart my computer over & over & delete the files but it only lasts temporarily. I've called Photoshop & they've never heard of it. I've uninstalled & reinstalled several times as well & it never seems to work.

The healing tool remains selected. I've tried the following:
1) Reopened program
2) Restarted CPU
3) Reloaded software
The problem is that I can't get any of the tools in Photoshop Toolbox to work. Tools like Clone Stamp Tool, Healing Tool, Burn Tool, Dodge Tool, Sponge Tool, etc. The person that replied to this problem before advised me to open My Computer>Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop & then delete a certain file. It worked great but now I can't remember which file to delete.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using 3ds (mental ray) for architectural visualization. I normally have different cameras for exterior and interior renders in one model. Each scene should have its own specific lightning and shadow settings (intensity, shadow position, etc)
Is it possible to have multiple sun positions in the same model which would be connected to each camera?
If not, what would be the best way to achieve various lightning settings? I would like to avoid having one file for each camera position.
I switched from 19" to a 27" screen. How can I tell LR to re-center it's window positions?
The windos (like the Export window) are still on the old place (centered for 19").
I have a lot of predefined GPS data in the map modul of LR4 ("saved positions", left border menu).
I installed LR5 and noticed that it does not import them from LR4.
How do I get these GPS data out of LR4 into LR5? (I'm running Windows 7 x64).
When my system crashed I had to upgrade from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7. Trying to reinstall I found that CS2 is no longer supported.
After I jumped through the necessary hoops I was able to re-install CS2. It worked OK for a while, but now I find that the nested tools in the toolbox are unavailable.
